Hi,
so, according to you, what is your favourite / least favourite match up, weither it is because of you Legion's special rules or your army list ?
I can't speak for myself, as I have yet to paint my army, but it seems that the Death Guard has a great weakness against the Emperor's Children (-1 when making sweeping advance, when the EC have crusader !) for example.

Iron Warriors. Mostly because of artillery spam. I understand it's fluffy for them but it's not fun walking up the board while they just sit back and drown you in pie plates.
Though, I am considering getting some Locuturus storm squads and a podded Leviathan dreadnought(s) to disrupt their gunlines. I think Locuturus are a little underrated for what they can do by Ultramarines players.

Also Take care of NL, because they have your +1 to wound rule as well as +1 to hit and Fear. Yeah you go first, but when you hit on 5s it's a lot less effective.

also fear the death guard rad grenades: you're not the only one you can get bonuses to wound and we can stack ours with our relic, and (apparently) RAW with multiple charges into one unit. in short: Oh noes! I suuuure hope you don't charge (or let me charge) you, I wouldn't want to drop your toughness or anything like that

Another Mechanicum-list. The whole battlefield would turn into a giant clusterfeth/parkinglot/bitchingcontest.
Luckily, I am the only one in our group. Until now.

My Iron Warriors fighting Tau, because the warp. Being a Shooty legion dosen't help when the Tau are just as shooty with longer ranged guns....
In 30k proper I've never realy had a realy bad match up TBH. Prob because us 30k players in the area tend to just take the units that look cool over what's actually good. I'm also one of the early adoptors, so I rock alot more FW units then the Calth Starters. I've been tending to shy away from things that would be to mean to them ATM. Once their grow their armies abit more and start getting their hands on some of the big toys, then I will start showing them the True Meaning of "Danger Close".

My vanilla legionnaires are set up for the 'angels wrath' rite of war (because air-cav have all the best theme music for war) with 2 storm eagles and a drop pod so far. My mate who plays emperors children regularly takes three mortis contemptor dreadnoughts. "but it's fluffy"

I haven't gotten a game in with my IW yet but I can say that the match up I look forward to least from just looking at their rules is Deathguard. DG just seem absolutely brutal and I'm building towards infantry heavy IW as opposed to mass artillery so that definitely doesn't help XD.
I guess I'm just a "storm the walls" kinda warsmith.

DG vs. IW is always a fun mach-up IMO. one of my buddies plays IW and I love the attrition war that comes out: his artillery vs. mine, big blobs of dudes smashing in the middle, always good fun

It would be Death Guard but isn't. Grave Wardens, artillery, phosphex, immunity to fear, rad grenades and what have you is horrid but it really pushes the limits of my generalship and the resulting battles are always tense, bloody affairs, which is not a bad thing.
I'd say Typhons and Phosphex mortars are worst just because they feel too strong.

White Scars.
Hit and run so you can't lock them in cc.
Skilled riders so at worst a 3+ jink save and no need for dangerous test.
Glaive, a +1S ap2 strike at initiative weapon that only cost 15p and every character model may have one.
Bike troops, perfect for that last minute objective dash.

Blood Angels are pretty scary, and since I play Luna Wolves it's CQC vs CQC and they are strictly better at it then we are currently.

Least is any army with 3x units of 3X quad mortars with phosphex upgrades. I would just not play the game, even at a tournament.
That is not why I play 30k.

They are great. 2+ saves and power swords all around, they will mince through regular infantry, while Suzerain will mince through elites. Ultramarines have two of the best close combat units around. Can't tell if serious... Sons of Horus are much better in CQC, whether it's rapid fire at BS5, or swinging an extra time. They have nothing like Reavers or Justaerin.
