So speaking of shuttles...

https://smile.amazon.com/Toy-Story-Command-Spaceship-Playset/dp/B07NQD9X44/ref=pd_ybh_a_1

At $65 it's pricey but I see used ones on ebay. And it is generic enough and big enough it can be used almost without modification for all sorts of 28mm games.

This cheaper but more of a toy.

Speaking of speaking about shuttles.

Lanard, the company that makes 'The Corps' (long running not~GI Joe budget line) and the current Aliens toys is making a sci-fi version of Corps called Star Troopers.

Apparently it's already out in some markets and coming to the US this year (Walmart at least). The big (and I mean big) thing for me is they turned one of their chopper kits into a 30" shuttle. Looks like it would hold a dozen or so GI joe sized figures so you're talking about something that will look big enough for a 100 or more 28mm figures.

(side note, who the #$%^ makes the publicity images on their company website non-shareable??!)

Hah... that is literally a chinook with the rotors taken off love it.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yup, that space-chinook is some impressively half-assed work.

The bugs are cool, though, and the smaller ship and the tank look like they could potentially be useful.

Just saw this in the gallery, Megablocks I think they're called. A zap or two of spray paint and you're on your way.

Lanard!

First they rip off GI Joe and now they're blatantly channeling a Tau Orca!

Who lets them get away with it? There should be laws and stuff...

I did once see the Chinook style helo from an old toy range called Road Maniax converted into a cool Catachan transport

I rather like the look of the space Chinook. My 10yo son saw our And thought it was really cool for his SW figures. We'd probably replace the tail with a turret though.

I could see it being great in 28mm also with just a few additional panels and bits.

Just started painting the Matchbox hovercraft.

Squinting at them I'm not sure there's somewhere for a mini to stand or if you can fit it in without cutting off some of the beams.

But at a dime a tower...

Tehnolog spring powered cannon, I've finally managed to get one of these from ebay and it's going to work well with my WGA Grognards

I've left off the rear wheel, it also comes with a bunch of projectiles and a mystery nose cone not mentioned in the instructions (maybe if you buy enough kits from the range the extra parts make a bonus something?)

i'm going to stick something over the place where the button to launch the missiles was which is why it's been cut flat

I've seen it described as a techno demonic, techno dwarf and steampunk cannon in listings in the past

edit: and for extra fun it has a small flamer pointing straight ahead so if anybody charges the gun they'll have an unpleasant surprise

Do we have any sort of manufacturer or brand name on this? I'm wondering if we can find it at local dollar shops or something.

Tehnolog is the name of the company, they're out of Russia and do some half gaming/half toy soldier models and kids. Many years ago they were marketed in the US as Robogear but I don't think they're available at all now.

I usually get stuff off of ebay, it takes time but other than that no problems to report. Though I've not ordered since COVID.

I like Tehnolog stuff. Built several of their tanks.

They got on the table here.

Like the cannon above they were never part of the robogear line and never got a regular release in the USA. I've built several Robogear Mechs also and they're alot of fun.

So, I started doing some work on those Amazon "Not-Gundams" I got 144 for $15 US. I think they were by Kikko?

Anyway, here is what they look like in the plastic....

As you can see they are easy to clip, trim, or cut at the joints with a knife. The size is about the same as a 28mm model. However, the poses are very static.

I chopped up the models and then used Green Stiff to make the poses more Dynamic. I am going to use them as Space Mecha, so some of the poses are meant for that look.

I also pulled out some old GW Eldar Guardian weapons and cut them up to act as weapons for these guys and add some weapon options. I have about 8 of these guys in various poses and weapons now.

Next, I am going to use a few different bodies for a different faction. Then I will try to paint them. I will report back with how well they accept paint.

Nice work on those.
I shouldn't have doubted you!

I did a similar thing with a bulk plastic spaceships a while back.
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/691684.page

Sometimes the polyethylene plastic can be hard to paint but a good wash and prime with a plastic compatible spray paint (I use Krylon Camo "with Fusion") well give a pretty good printing surface/basecoat.
