Just a question, but are the rules for these two tanks in a White Dwarf or only exclusively in the boxed set from Warhammer World?

I did not see them in a White Dwarf but I'm a bit behind on them. My PDF of it appears to be its own little pamphlet you'd get in the box.

I sure hope so.

I don't remember seeing a command Land Raider in my Guard Codex. Care to point out where it is?

Technically Space Wolves had access to Leman Russes in 3rd edition, but was later revoked.

Also most of those are already a thing in Horus Heresy (Legion Artillery tanks, felblades, and some special rules I forget).

Dohoho.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

It would make sense. They are available as a choice for the Anvil Strike Force in Angels of Death. I would totally be all over that if they did release them.

he's suggesting a tank commander is a unique unit to the guard, all the while forgetting sgt chronus predates the guard tank commander.

the command tanks being spoken about are entirely differant. they're a unique varient with C3 capabilities. and as I understand it the idea hjas been around awhile, FW produced a command rhino

My point is that generic tank commanders are a IG thing. Like vehicle squadrons used to be. And transport/gunship flyers/fast skimmers used to be.

The Rhino Primaris and Land Raider Excelsior are not the same as the IG tank commanders. Plus, Space Marine legions have had acces to tank commanders for a few years now.

A single character tank commander, and the Guard have had access to a character commander for as long if not longer.

But let us see:
Is it a variant/upgrade of a standard tank? Yes
Does it gain benefits for this upgrade? Also Yes
Can it be squadroned? I ampretty sure the answer is Yes.

So, here we go again. Space Marines getting something the Imperial Guard have.

Gathering the Informations.

No, it cannot be squadroned.

Additionally, all these tanks do is provide an additional effect. They do not do anything more. They are not Chronus, they are not an option for him to be mounted upon, and they are not Tank Commanders.

These are similar to the Salamander Command Tank or Salamander Recon Tank. That's all.

You can keep the Russes. They suck.

Horus Heresy-Betrayal came out in 2012 which had both tank squadrons and tank commanders in it. Codex: Astra Militarum, which came out in 2014, was the first IG codex to have generic commanders. IA1 did have them before but I'm just saying your complaints are few years late.

Your second point doesn't make any sense. The Land Raider Excelsior and Rhino Primaris are a lot like the Damocles command rhino in that they give army wide benefits as opposed to a squadron upgrade like Pask. The Guard has no real equivalent to this other than the Salamander scout tank I think.

I love the concept, but GW trashed the crunch. The ordinance rule is just stupid for heavy tanks.
