Thanks a lot.

I d like to point my special stuff out - but my camera sucks.
I ll try to take some better pics later.

I love to put such little things on my conversions
Adds a lot of character to a mini - even when I m the only one who knows it's there.

TRICKSTER!!!!!!! AAAAHHH!!

I've never had so many things go so horribly wrong on a miniature before...
**airbrush nozzle split and showered this guy with a heavy heavy coat of gloss covering a lot of detail
**the water affect spilled over the entire model on first try and I scraped down to metal by accident trying to remove it
**the water affect on later tries still didn't do what I wanted and covered the base and base rim with glossy lumps
**I dropped the model cracking it off base and unglueing ALL glued parts - but thankfully do to ridiculous amount of gloss coat it didn't hurt too much of the paint.
**tried to sand the horrible lumps on around the rim of the base and dropped it onto cement... bent the claws badly out of shape with some minor paint chipping.
**tried to bend the lightning claws back into shape, and paint started to chip off entirely ...I think it's over.

Not sure I can recover here, the Trickster beat me. I may bow out of this contest lads...

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! The mighty Bloodthirster of the Sixth Host is finished! Here are the final pics:

I had tons and tons of fun painting this model. It truly is one of the best models GW has ever produced. Regardless of whether he gets any votes in this painting challenge, I'm proud to have painted him. Speaking of votes, regardless of whether you vote for this model in the challenge voting thread, please feel free to vote in the Dakka gallery for these pics! Looking forward to seeing what everyone else submits; I've already seen some really great minis so far this month!

Edit: Well, my camera is still really really old & bad.. but oh, well. I'm A-OK with the result - it's tabletop standard i think.

The small freehands on the shoulder-pad and the Axe were actually really fun to paint. I've learned a lot, and that's the most
important thing for me

Argh. Dude... That's a terrible turn of events. I love the purple tones in the grey. Will you submit additional pics "battle damaged eye-of-terror" ver. pics anyhow? It seems a shame if all that effort went to waste.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Gunzhard, seems like a real SM hes been through the wars, still looks great tbh, hope you are able to patch him up and get him entered.

Zerg, the bloodthirster looks brilliant, your painting has really improved this year, I like that your aren't afraid to tackle the big models.

Nice work. Looks like he's had a rough day at work.

Regarding your proof. Have you let other people slide on their proof pic?

If you have, than all is good.

If you haven't, than pay the stupid tax and withdraw your entry. It would just look unsightly if you didn't.

Hey Para, is it alright if I get a "proof I've finished" photo tonight and then sort out the proper ones tomorrow?

@MG: Thanks! I waited until this month to paint the Bloodthirster because I wanted to improve before taking on such a detailed (and expensive!) model. I'm glad I did, because a year ago (when I first bought and assembled the model) I could not have done nearly as well on it.

@Para: I like the Iron Man mini, he looks like he's had kind of a rough day!

@Nevelon: That Ultramarines captain looks pretty nice. One thing I like about your painting is how crisp and clean it is. Does it take a lot of touch-up work, or do you just manage to be so neat on the initial coats of paint?
