So I'm kind of working on a weird side project list for a laugh, and stacking it with as many deep strikers as possible. However, I want to know what the best bang for buck is on ensuring reserves via rolls is. I'm on a pretty tight points budget, but I can make stuff work as needed.

For those curious, it is a 2000 point list. CAD Sisters with 3 Seraphim + Celestine, 2 LotD and a Hellrain brigade from scions because why not.

Specifically either an Aegis or a WoM Bunker with Comms.

Spess Muhreen Allies with Captain "Fully Sic" Sicarius for +1 to reserves as long as he's alive and on the board. Can also hand out one of: counter attack/infiltrate/scout/tank hunter to a tac squad, so jam him in a drop pod with a melta and combi melta and you're done. Coupled with the re-roll for manning the comms relay, for when all your reserves absolutely must come in T2, though it's a bit of an expensive allied deatchment just for that when a re-rollable 3+ should do just fine 89% of the time (instead of 97%)

Sounds like you're investing a large amount into squishy infantry that are coming in turn 2 with little to no scatter mitigation and are generally going to require being within easy charge distance to get their shooting done. Also gives free reign to psychic deathstars whose only weakpoint is the need to survive a turn before they can buff themselves.

But yeah, for reserves on the cheap, Bunker with a Comms, maybe a void shield, to hide a squishy unit behind, preferably also behind some LoS blockers.

Plus rolling strategic like always, but now you're looking for the re-roll reserves trait (Strategic Genius I think it is), but that's only a 30% chance to pull that off, not something to base an army around IMHO. It is free though, and you can't argue with that when you're on a budget.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
