Hi everyone,

Working on finishing our Ork looted-wagon locomotive (Da Pain Train) - which is looted from a GE 44 Ton locomotive - and wrecked Eldar vehicles....

Planning to have a speared-Eldar-pilot right on the front.

Is there any consensus as to what color Eldar blood should be ??

Pretty sure it's red like most people's are.

Rainbow colour.

It's really hard to get the stains out. Wraithbone is about the only thing it's safe for Eldar to bleed on because of this. Hence its use on everything.

In Dawn of War 2 there is a brief line from the Ork tank that says something along the lines of "I got Eldar blood all over me wagon! It's all shiny!"

So yeah I think it's still red, but maybe a little extra glint to it? I always imagined it being a bit darker, and shiny.

Like the above poster, I quote a DOW2 Ork Boy -

'I got Eldar blood all ovah me. It's so shiny!'

Most nids seem to be perfectly happy breathing the atmosphere of a human world, but they were probably designed for it.

I believe Nid blood is typically portrayed as purple and usually described as a thick dark ichor.

Ork blood is probably green as noted.

I always imagined Eldar blood would be blue, since they think of themselves as better than every other race. Get it? Blue-blood?
Of course, Eldar don't really bleed. You have to be foolish enough to get cut in order to bleed. And we know Eldar are too graceful and swift for that nonsense.

Most Nids. But they don't need to as seen by the numerous ships that don't have any oxygen, and all the Nids inside the ships that don't have an atmosphere.

Ork blood is officially red. They are green skinned due to chlorophyll in their skin, other than that they have bright red blood. Eldar blood is almost certainly red, but brighter due to higher oxygen levels than ours.

Or crystalline. Given that their digestion process results in such things.

Which, thinking about it, could result in refracting light in a similar manner to rainbows. So back to my original guess. Rainbow coloured.

Bright red, shiny, crystallizes when it dries.

Apparently. No idea what the source is though. Given that Farsees morph into crystals as they age, it hardly seems unlikely though.

Anyways.

blood wise:

IRON based blood is red like in humans. In all the media I've personally seen Eldar blood is red as well.

COPPER (not cobalt) based blood is blue as in Tau (or on Earth, Horseshoe crabs and a few other creatures.)

Ork's is said to be green due to the fungus bit. Though strangely it seems to always be shown Red in most depictions. See all 40k video games and artwork, etc.

Tyranid is often described as a thick green ichor, like Xenomorph blood, minus acidity.


The only rainbow blood is Slannesh marines, because they have more drugs than blood in their systems. But its not like you can just ask one.

Fairly sure that's a result of them using their powers too much or something.

Really appreciate the help with the color. Tried to come up with "shiny and red" (no disrespect to those who suggested blue) based on that quote from the books.

Turned out to be trickier than we thought. Put silver down first - then put on a layer of that glaze red paint GW just came up with. Can't say that it seemed very shiny. Going to try again for some cherry red with sparkles in it....

I believe the Rogue Trader Compilation (or Compendium, one of them) says something about Eldar blood being pale red, thin and watery and blood trails looked kinda like tears.

If you want it REALLY shiny, put down some silver and go over it with a red ink or wash.

You could use gloss varnish on the blood.

Even more red than ours, because they have a better blood, bringing more oxygen in their body (as they need more of it because they are bigger).
Only their skin is green.
