The simple reality is that there's still very few people who care about her emails. The people who do care would never have voted for her anyway.

Comey's been very considerate of the fact it's election season for the past year. Him coming out and saying "yeah so there's so more emails and we're just gonna take a peak" sounds a lot better than a reporter saying "FBI found more emails and didn't look GOVERNMENT COVER UP!"

Apparently, these emails came from the Bureau's investigation into Anthony Weiner's alleged sexting to a minor in North Carolina.

Seriously, could this election get any worse?

EDIT: The word also is that they were not sent by Hillary Clinton, were not intentionally withheld from the Bureau during the original investigation, and did not come from her private email server.

Okay... I did a double-take because my thoughts went like:
wut? he was sexting Hillary too?!?!

But seriously... it's because of this:
Federal law enforcement officials said Friday that the new emails uncovered in the closed investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server were discovered after the F.B.I. seized electronic devices belonging to Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton, and her husband, Anthony Weiner.
The F.B.I. is investigating illicit text messages that Mr. Weiner sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. The bureau told Congress on Friday that it had uncovered new emails related to the Clinton case
...one federal official said they numbered in the thousands

Maybe the FBI rank and file is pushing back the "no intent was found" in these investigations... and that there's something here.

C'mon man... this is like the most Clinton thing ever!

HRC may get ding'ed for this because her right-hand woman's pervy husband was caught sexting teen girls with his hand down his pants on the same phone that his wife used?

I don't know what's worst... the fact that Weiner is sending pics of him grabbing his junk to teenage girls ON HIS WIFE'S PHONE... or, that all these sexting occured on his wife's phone that may have CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.

The Onion/DuffleBlog couldn't write this any better....

Edit: I'm reading too fast... no where in that link states that the FBI found incriminating sexting on Abdin's devices by her husband... only that the FBI confiscated her devices as well.

Edit 2: this is me spit balling... why confiscate Abdin's device at all? Unless... they found some Classified info on Weiner's device sent by his wife? Seems strange...

Trump's already making conciliatory gestures towards to FBI with the "renewed" investigation. Apparently, he also alluded to the fact that he maybe doesn't think the system is rigged anymore.

Great, a POTUS candidate with man-opause like mood swings. Just what the world needs at the helm of the largest economy and most powerful military. He reminds me of the kid in the cart that's crying like a banshee in Toys-R-Us because mom hasn't bought him every toy he is screaming out for and then immediately shuts up the minute mom caves and does the, "Okay, okay, you can have _____." He's nothing but a petulant and dangerous little child.

Heh... so, this is a big dealio.

The argument for HRC now is going to be that Donald Trump is so dangerous that it’s worth gambling your vote on her, even though she's under current criminal investigation.

Sigh... can this election season get any weirder?

The Democrat Opposition better drop their Trump opposition stuff now so that this doesn't dominate the weekend news....

How is more of the same going to be a "big dealio"? Another device they've started looking at has some more emails, so, essentially more of the same which have already been reviewed ad nauseum and it's been determined that no intentional malice has been found. What do you think is going to be found now...a F-35 schematic cc'd to Kim Jong Un? C'mon! You're talking your book.

And to Gary, I say "Bye!".

You have an obvious bias here. My own bias is to think that this was a political move made just before the election to raise the specter of emailghazi in the hope of affecting the election for the Republicans' benefit. There's nothing there and it will quietly fade away, but right now someone wants a "Crooked Hillary" story badly, and the media want the horse race.

An in news that surprised absolutely no one, Republicans announce continued obstructionism: http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/27/politics/hillary-clinton-republicans-congress/index.html

I think they need to take a look at down ballot results before trying this again. Fortunately, the more rational are seeing how suicidal this could be. Unfortunately, I predict that the Trump effect will destroy moderate Republicans in purple areas but leave the red region extremists unscathed.

As stated, I did my voting earlier. After having used the machine, I'm going to have to agree: anybody complaining about their votes getting "switched" are liars seeking attention or are basically experiencing the classic "PEBKAC" error. Because it's very easy to select your straight party on the first page, and then accidentally change the individual selections on the later pages as you go through them if you're checking for races your party isn't in. It's a tablet kind of device, but with navigational buttons and wheel at the bottom:

Anyway, I obviously selected the straight Dem ticket to give the finger to this year's Republican Party. I went through and looked at all the other races. Many of the judicial positions were Rs running unopposed, but I did vote for the Libertarian running against the R for Sheriff.

There you go then. Like I've said before, I'm not 100% with how things work in the USA, but nobody is going to charge HRC for this nonsense when the vote's only 2 weeks away.

Trump's only hope of winning is Clinton setting fire to the Declaration of Independence.

If that's the case, then IMO the timing is bad. They shoulkd have done it before one of the debates to give Trump some ammo, but Trump was ranting about emails anyway, and Clinton brushed it off.

Those who want Trump will vote Trump regardless. Those who want Clinton won't be swayed by this.

Texas sheriffs in urban areas don't have much else to do besides run the county jail and provide bailiffs to the courts. It's in the rural counties where they really get to fill the law enforcement role. That's why it doesn't matter too much who is sheriff in Fort Worth.

Comey had to inform Congress that in light of an unlinked investigation, the FBI found more pertinant evidence regarding the Emailgate investigations.

That tells me 2 things at least:
1) That they didn't even check Abelin's current device during their summer investigation doesn't support the idea that the FBI did their "due diligence".

2) To even GET to this point, that evidence needed to be something REALLY compelling to force Dir Comey to inform Congress that they discovered "new information" regarding their Emailgate investigation.
