You're trying to defend your party, it's quite obvious. And by extension, their candidate now President-elect, because let's be clear, it's an unique opportunity for your side to do what they always wanted to do now that the road is wide open. And I expect you to do this for 4 years.

As for Cheeto Jesus, I'm just in the shruggie mindset and expected the worst. But, I'm somewhat heartened by his transition picks so far.

The idea that Democrats are " far removed from what most Americans want" however, does care about that. Trump didn't win any sort of mandate. His EC total wasn't even particularly high. All this proved is that republican voters care more about party than they do about country.

Because that's how it works... and, because States matters in our union.

It's illustrative to look at who won county-by-county:

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.

Trump won 3,084 of them.

Clinton won 57.

The electoral college appears to have functioned exactly as designed.

Ok. He's appointed a head for DoL that has had millions of dollars in labor violations and wants to go back to the $5 minimum wage, and do away with overtime. Heads for the EPA and Park Service who legally represent Big Oil and have repeatedly requested that the park system be done away with so that oil companies can drill. In fact, almost every candidate he's suggested has either been in open opposition to the governments policies, or existence at all, and named them to positions that they have actively worked against, in some cases for 20+ years.

It's like naming Saddam Hussein's Generals to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

On the up side, we won't ever have to worry about Republicans ever having a president again, but we may just have to worry about having another president again at all.

I mean, look around, even your fellow Republicans are going WTF?

It's simply there are regional differences, ie states, that fething matters.
