This first five words of this amendment, “Congress shall make no law”, basically removes everything that follows from the field of federal jurisdiction. If Congress can make “no law” then there is “no law” for the president to enforce and there is “no law” for the Supreme Court or federal courts to rule upon.

He probably won't. Legislature is controlled by Republicans. All we can do is hope that he is a good enough governor that he keeps winning, and the Republicans are voted out due to redistricting.

Yeah, I was at the state legislature last night watching, and it was kind of disturbing. The republicans met behind closed doors, decided what they were going to do, and then immediately rushed through the vote without any debate. Cooper is going to be very limited in what he can do against a veto-proof majority, and the legislature is busy trying to remove as much of his power as possible before he even takes office. It probably comes down to just how much the republican party's lawyers think they can get away with.
On the good side, thanks to republican gerrymandering getting overturned by the courts, we have a special election coming up next year with new district boundaries. Hopefully that and some backlash over the republican party's blatant attempts to turn Raleigh into South Chicago will get rid of that majority.
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
