As someone who does LEAN and 6Sigma for a living, you don't even need automation to replace workers. You just need process improvement so you no longer need a worker or a robot.
I hate to tell you this, but as you reduce waste and become more efficient you need fewer people to do the work. That is where most of the "efficiency" gains come from, but we just hide it with technical terminology.
QFT.
In my professional experience, we have seen the largest productivity, quality, and safety improvements from process changes and improved training, not from automation or outsourcing. Also anecdotally, for the loss of every shop floor job, I have seen an offset with a administrative position, thought not always on a 1 for 1 basis. Sometimes, it has been less and sometime's it has been more. Also, the amount of specialization has increased as well.

Does someone need to post that Executive Orders chart again? The one totaling how many orders were given out by two-term presidents, and where Obama turned up on that?

We got 12 to18 months of blame Obama, then Pence will blame everything on disgraced former Pres Drumpf.

So? Raw number means jack and gak.
These weren't EO to rename some public building after some famous persons...
These were the actions of "Mr. I have a Pen & Phone".
Guess what? Cheeto Jesus will have the same Pen & Phone.

His critics cried and howled over the executive overreach, but O's defender were cool with it.
Now that Cheeto Jesus has the same "Pen & Phone"... will you defend his prerogative just like Obama was defended?
Absolutely not. Because Cheetoh Jesus doesn't have an obstructionist legislative branch that since day one has declared their intention to block anything and everything he would attempt to do.
But you knew that already, didn't you? Or are you still having selective memory about the past 8 years?

It's also the SOP for the Republican party, period, to blame the Democrats for everything.
They, for example, claim that the reason nothing really got done the past 8 years is the Democrats weren't willing to work with them. Hell they even claimed their shutdown of the government was the Democrats' fault.

You can't blame the Republicans in Congress for Obama committing unconditional executive overreach with executive orders. SCotUS ruled against Obama because he was trying to use executive orders to write new laws which is expressly illegal and unconstitutional and Obama the supposed constitutional scholar can't just blame Republicans as a lame excuse for deliberately ignoring federal law. It is extremely dangerous and bad for the country for presidents to try to remove our system of federal checks and balances for the sake of partisanship. We've had decades of presidents from both parties trying to amass more executive power and all we get from it is more terrible policy from whichever party controls the White House at the expense of the voice of the people.

I mean, I'm convinced that much of the opposition isn't much about policy differences or sober analysis of causes/effects... it's rooted in the loathing and detestation of certain people, ie a practice in "otherizing", that feels the need to strictly enforce its own doctrines and punishes the apostates who dares voices a contrarian opinion.
It's 270 elector votes needed to win the precidency. In theory, what would happen if enough faithless electors abandoned Trump, putting him below 270 (though still more than HRC)? I assume it's actually 270 votes needed. Not just having the most.

That same constituency that STILL believes that kind of crap about Hillary as well?

I think it's just "the most votes" in anything democratic, actually. Not necessarily "more than half."

I was aware of a few Republicans from other states already announcing they'd be faithless but I haven't heard that of any Democrats. That's what I meant with Democrats as well.

That's how it normally work. But since these articles keep mentioning 270 electors needed when Hillary has now less than 232 makes me suspect there's a hard target needed.
This is also a political system where it's definately not as simple as "most votes". Or HRC would have been president elect already.
