Pffff... That's no better than colored chalk.

Lol

Yeah bro it'd be a tough choice if it came down to it for me - colored chalk my little cousin has or this god-tier setup that most of us will never even lay eyes on, let alone play on or ever come close to owning. Decisions . . .

Rick Foshaug I'm not seeing anything here that really impresses me other than the miniature train as you know I have approximately 10,000 Ral partha and Grenadier figurines

Rick Foshaug I have nothing but kudos for whoever put this diorama together but my campaign change of scenery so often it's not very prudent for me to use anything but a chalkboard and colored chalk

Yeah it's clearly a labor of love to create a piece of art that goes way beyond just a gaming table.

On some level it's true that as a pure gaming table it's not *that* useful. Even if the dungeon is rearangeable pieces, as it seems to be. Pointing it out like that though is really dickish. It'd be like scoffing a golden demon (crystal brush) winning model because it's not WYSIWYG or has the wrong base size and can't be used in a pick up game.

I'm also wondering if this was built on site - surely nobody shipped it across any great distance?

The guy literally has what he considers the "best" miniature paints across the land to paint his stuff. world wide id assume

so i could see him commissioning the whole set and having it sent to him.

The actual landscape, on basic inspection of the images, is actually a vast patchwork of pieces that separate - there are seams in the terrain all over the place. This doesn't appear to be because it is intended to be modular, as the contour of the hills and rolling areas look to only be able to fit together with its neighbor. Something tells me it isn't for storage purposes necessarily, it doesn't look like this fella needs to break the board down into pieces given how dedicated this room is to his hobby. This might be because some of it may have been shipped or moved long distances. I'm willing to bet a lot of it was produced elsewhere, but even still I'm sure he has plenty of projects he's personally worked on/completed/etc.

It's a shame there's no project log of this epic space. A great timelapse video/montage of it coming together with huge picture journals would be wonderful to dissect and admire!

I've seen different setups in that space I think, so it could be so the settings can be changed around. And also fit through a doorway.

The table itself appears to be nothing special. That's why he's got cloth over it. It's just a table, possibly ordinary folding stuff.

The terrain plates and items, OTOH, wow. Just wow. That's some high-quality diorama work there!

Whoa, that board is amazing - I wonder how many thousands of man-hours that have been put into it.

Love the foam and seaweed on the beaches. Would be lovely to be able to play on a table like that.

One of the most fun things I can see is removing all the trees as a baneblade drives through...
