Yeah i noticed that too with the way his torso seems to be twisting sideways REALLY hard.

i dont mind the crazy stuff off his shoulders that much. in fact i think it looks pretty cool and very macab like the chaplain usually looks.

maybe if it was a regular scroll it wouldn't be disliked as much.

There's elements of this guy that look good and that I really like, lkke the sensors/lights on the cowling. Elements of the suit almost look like they're from the Tartaros Pattern. The skulls and scrolls really throw the whole thing off though and make him overly busy. He could've been a really nice figure if he didn't have that junk hanging off of him.

I like that new chaplain. It's not quite as good as the current terminator chaplain, which, to be fair, is a really hard mini to beat. It's possibly the best mini Geedubs have ever put out.

GW's models really are starting to become parodies of themselves aren't they?

That chaplain looks like a blob of parchment. Horrible design to stick on all that crap to what could otherwise have been a decent model.

pretty cool armor style, but then covered in crap
so... if I drive to 10 stores, at a time-sensitive point, I've earned the right to buy your model? Take a page of FW's book and just stick to con exclusives...

IMO, the stubby, goofy-looking Crozius really ruins what otherwise would indeed have been a great model. I like this new one better. He looks more imposing and his Crozius actually looks like something that could be dangerous. It is a shame though that they added a bit too much decoration to the front of the armour.

It almost looks like it could pass for tartoros terminator armour. Pretty good for 30k players, since that's a good load out for chaplains in 30k. Untill now you would have had to convert that.

I just wish GW would let me buy the minis I like rather than putting up more walls/obstacles to their products.

I don't want to buy stuff to collect something that just gives me the opportunity to buy something else. I'll happily buy the Chaplain, so just let me buy the Chaplain!

Qualify to buy? So you spend all that money and not even guaranteed to be able to buy the mini? Even if that is not true, not liking that you HAVE to buy stuff to be able to buy more stuff as others have said.

Oh well, the new GW is still the old GW just smoke and mirrors now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

That chaplain doesn't have enough skulls. You still have some blank space on each foot.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That's how the Skullz program used to work. There's nothing on that image that explains how this iteration of it works... looks to me like it may be just either completing certain activities at the opening, or attending a certain number of store openings, in order to 'qualify'.

Either way, it's making people jump through hoops in order to be granted the 'privilege' of handing over more money to GW.

The mini is ok, but it's not 'run an obstacle course in order to be allowed to buy it' ok.

I can definitely agree that the crozius is a bit stubby on the old terminator chaplain, but something about its face and posing just give it a literal aura of menace. It looks mean, and the new one, with all the stuff on his front, looks like he's come from some sort of ceremony and has yet to change back out of his formal wear. I like the new guy, but it doesn't look combat ready to me. It looks like something he might wear while delivering a sermon prior to battle.

Again, there's nothing from what's been shown so far that says that 'qualifying' to buy the model is tied to buying stuff. That's just speculation, for now.

His tassels seem an homage to Grimmauldus? still I see that gw can make all kinds off cool terminator gak so why the feth would you do limited runs. A lot more people live out side of Duddly. Am I supposed to make a pilgrimage to the UK to acquire a plastic trinket? Or I'm left giving my money to plastic scalpers. Makes sense for a games day mini but one for every store? they could for example sell it for a limited time on their website. Make all that eBay money then pass the savings on to us. But nay they are a hobby company and not a hobby business. Seriously though do they read spirit stones make decisions

Also obviously he needs to quickly reference verses hence the nipple tassels. Example. "Brother Trogdor, what is the proper psalm to recite to your flamer prior to xenos purging?" Trogdor,"Um .....?"
Chaplain "the answer you seek is by my left testie"

It must be a stamp or sticker for each £X spent in the first X days of the store. Not going to be a new store road trip scavenger hunt, that's silly.

I've heard it's not £££/$$$$ related but is indeed completed by doing various tasks ;; eg a painting lesson, a full battle etc etc.

Idea being to try and encourage people to come back or provide extra motivation for them to finish their armies and so on.

reckon there must a/some financial component too but....

I would love it if that was the case.
I can still hold out hope reds8n, we still have a long way to go before people don't immediately start thinking the worst of GW.

But that is their row to hoe so hopefully they can get there eventually as it means lots of good things between now and then to justify that future faith.

But then the people who are actually going to want to buy this model are probably vets, so making them sit through a painting lesson by a guy who potentially is a less experienced painter, or stand through a demo battle, really sound like chores. Playing a full game in store may also be hard to achieve, given the size of the stores.

(I never thought I'd say this but) I'd much rather the old system, where you get a stamp per, say, £10 spent*, with the option to buy at the end. It's trivial to spend £100 in GW these days, and you can always share the card.

*Not that awful per £10+ transaction thing.

...well......

.... this is just shooting in the breeze here of course,

.. if one's store does run such an event a manager might have the leeway to run the promotion in such a fashion.
