From watching lists on here and following the local scene for 30k, everyone and their mother is bringing along at least one of these murderbricks.
So I'm wondering whats the best way to handle these as av14 and a flare shield is not something to mess around with.
Like without taking the flare shield into account a squad of 10 tyrant termies average as 2.2hp(do not quote me on this) per volley.
I'm thinking that stuff with haywire may be the way to go?

Graviton Guns for Haywire and forcing Dangerous Terrain checks.
Primaris Lightning Fighters with the Kraken Penetrator Missiles
Anything with ranged Strength D (Flare Shields don't work against it)
Barrage weapons are resolved against the side armour, and will bypass the Flare Shield.
Malcador Assault Tanks can fire their main weapon after moving Flat Out, potentially meaning they could move 18" and angle a side armour shot around the Flare Shield.
Smash a Caestus Assault Ram into it - Flare Shields only work against shooting attacks and you're ramming at S10, rolling twice pick the highest.
Chainfist/Melta-bomb it. Watch out for the contents inside of course.
Alpha Legion could get a sneaky Saboteur hit on it - thats a 50% chance to Stun/Immobilise/Explode it...

My Mechanicum use Ordinatus engines or a Archmagos Ordinator with a photon thruster. I play a Centurio Ordinatus army though and that is kind of cheating.
My Solar Auxilia use clumps of antitank on the flanks or Valdor Tank Hunters, one with a Tank Commander. I run a superheavy tank regiment here, so deploy one superheavy and its squad in the middle, and one each on the other flanks to use their great speed to hit the flanks.

After the meltabomb nerf grav-cannons and the armourbane missiles are the most efficient ways to do it I've found.

That FAQ is still a draft, so there's no need to use it yet. Plus there's a good chance Forgeworld will allow you to still use multiple melta-bombs in the Fight Subphase anyway, since a number of units in the 30k lists are forced to buy melta-bombs on every model (Outriders, Jetbikes, Assault Marines, Veterans etc).

Ah yes, I thought they were an exception to that, but it's the fact they're armourbane and not melts in their effect that I was confusing that with.

Ignore them, if your opponent sunk the points into one you should just laugh at their tactical choice and commend there fluff decision, assuming they use it in a fluffy way.
They are not at all hard to kill, and thats not even for those poor fellows who dont have deep striking tyrants or the awesome havocs.

Not exactly (it is kind of amusing not even being able to deploy facing the enemy because your tank is too long), but I'd agree that if two Belicosa Volcano Cannon shots can't at least irritate a tank, you're doing it wrong.
But yes, the key to killing the 'awesome unit in a spartan' is to bypass a normal armour penetration roll entirely. Graviton Cannons, Destroyer Weapons, or nasty armourbane weapons (Kraken Heavy Penetrator Missiles from a lightning are good).

The CAA is for campaign games only though, so the opponent would have to agree to playing with it (which i can't see once they learn what you plan to use it for.)
+1 for Kraken Penetrators, they get the job done.

Apart from these two very valide points it would also not work rule wise, as a model has to be on the field to use the CAA, as the Saboteur inflicts the pen, "as he arrives" from reserve and not after, the CAA can not be used to get an auto "explode".
Back to the initial question: I suggest taking a Sicaran Venator. It is fast so it can bypass the flare shield and even if you have to fire frontal arc, you stil pack enough of a punch to inflict some demage without having to fear overly dangerous retaliation from the Spartan itself. (thanks to the shockpuls rule)
Otherwise, if you have acces to Mechanicum, use some Power -Fist Ursarax and punch the thing to bits.

The Valdor is basically the same as the Sicaran, so yes, I can vouch that it works, in my experience.

If you've already spend the points on a full unit of Tyrants then you may as well throw a Siegebreaker in with them as well. That should do the trick on a Spartan.

No they won't, because they will not be able to even glance the Spartan due to the flare shield decreasing their weapon streng to 7.

Always use perturabo with this tactic, deep strike turn 1 in your opponents deployment zone and hit side armour. drop more than one termie squad for increased killy, add a lighning with krakens to be an a-hole. Automatically Appended Next Post: Perturabo with 10 tyrants means 20 bs5 krak missiles into whatever youve set your heart on, add siege breaker in cata armour and golg for fun. Automatically Appended Next Post: Or easier than that just use Havocs with lacannons.

Would it also be an option to just intercept the gits with a mob of Iron circle? I only ask as they're probably carrying some nasty melee blokes.

I think getting side armor shots with anything that's s8+ or has rending is a solid tactic. Sicarans (6 twin-linked shots isn't terrible), rocket heavy supports or lascannons with a siege breaker (tank hunter for the win), or even laser destroyer rapiers can do well with ordinance. I play Raven Guard so I can infiltrate for side armor shots on the first turn.
Though I think krackens are probably the best bet. 2+ to hit with armorbane missiles? Get it. If you don't outright kill it, you probably made it not move or blew a weapon off.
