I was thinking of trying to make him 40K but I don't think I have an army he would sit right in. No amount of converting is going to turn him into a Dark Angel or a Harlequin/Dark Eldar.

As for Age of Sigmar, I play Sylvaneth, so that's not going to work either. I have a box of Kataphron Destroyers I haven't built yet, so maybe I could raid that and turn him into some kind of cyborg. They might be around the right size.

I better make sure I don't use any bits I'd need for the destroyers though. That's a £30 box I bought just because I liked the miniatures, and which I really couldn't afford, so I can't render them unbuildable!

I don't really have a bits box, unfortunately, as I don't really do conversions.

Frankly, DE sounds the easiest option, he'd make a great Grotesque. Remove the hands and graft on some weapons (the flail would actually work just attached to an arm stump instead of a hand), take the horns off the mask and leave off the Khorne belt, maybe add some tubes or wires and Bob's your Haemonculus!

Anyone got any ideas for fitting one onto a 25mm square?

@methebest: maybe put him on a 50mm square, and just take up 4 spaces, like the Grail Reliquary???
a large cork "rock" that flares at the top could work, depending on the guys he needs to rank-up with...

cheers

A rock might do it, will have a play and see if its doable, hopfuly wont have to resort to using a 50mm.

Probably won't happen unless you put something else on the base that has significant over hang. He pretty much touches both edges of a 40 mm round.

Yeah, if you want a 25mm base model this guy ain't it.

Yeah but i think it might be fine if its all on one side and I'd just be forced to always have him on one side of a unit he'd be in.

@Bottle - looking good so far! love the skin and the metal

@SonOfSigvald - Khorne won't be happy about that! ...looks great though! that colour scheme works surprisingly well on him...the wing and the headswap really work nicely too

I finished up my Slaughterpriest with HACKBLADE and WRATH-HAMMER today. This is the first 28 mm mini I've painted in years, and I am definitely rusty. Everything is so tiny, the big pics show off every little mistake and sloppy bit, but I'm happy with how he looks in hand. This was also my first time trying to paint a darker skin tone, and I think it worked, but the highlight color stands out maybe a little too much.

My proof pic, not started painting yet. The head looks a bit wrong though.

great entries so far, the tzeench lord and the digganob are really great.

I must admit I was a bit nervous chopping up such a nice model. The proportions seem all out of whack now, I currently trying a few different heads. I tried a nob head and it just looked crazy, his head was about as large as his torso, gretchin heads are just too small, perhaps something in a helmet as you've done would work out better.

the head you're using in the pic doesn't look too badly proportioned honestly...although I almost want to see him with a grot head now! - he could be one of Zodgrod Wortsnagga's "Supa-Runtz"!

I know what you mean though, I was kinda worried about the proportions of the head I used too at first, but it works, just (I used the "mini-nob" head from the boyz box, then carved the ork head out of it, and stuck a trimmed-down space marine sergeant head in there - I'm still surprised that any part of that process worked at all )

awesome stuff guys!

I'm almost done with mine. I did go and buy another lol I've seen so many conversions now I really want to make either a Skaven one, or an Ork one (might actually make a good Painboy or Weirdboy, considering how much I hate the GW model of the latter)

Not sure if I'll get round to painting anytime soon, but I did enjoy the build.

I've turned mine into a Nurgle Renegade Packmaster.

In his left hand are two collars. He's just let his hounds off the leash.

I get the sense that these will be broken before too long.....

That's my favourite conversion so far. I think the actual model is a bit crap too, so that's saying something! Can't wait to see you paint that one.

really nice conversion, I love it, I'm trying to convince my brother to do something similar with his slaughterpriest.

He looks a bit ridiculous... but could be fun... heh..

I think the head you used works great. I've tried it on mine and really liked it but I don't want to copy so I've opted for another. Its sounds quite a faff getting the space marine head in the nobs helmet but I think it looks really good, congrats. I took some photos of the heads I tried but id didn't go with any of these:
