Imperial. Fething. Guard. Cadians.
I must have assembled about a hundred of those little buggers and it never gets any easier. Yes, I know that they are simple models but the real effort comes from the sheer amount you have to do. Painting again and again ad infinitum as you try desperately to think that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, only to find that light is just the sun reflecting off yet more grey plastic....
Yeah, painting a massed army of bods is not fun.

Flailing on the beach like a beached whale. While also wearing fashionable panties.

At the moment? Necron Warriors. I have to bust out 32 of them by tomorrow this time.

All time? Warhound Titan.

TheEyeOfNight I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes.
Tactical_Spam Vanden clearly loves making sweet sweet love to his school. He is the most passionate, learning oriented individual you will ever meet.
War Kitten You should ask nicely before hitting people with your stick Vanden. We're a polite society after all.
2BlackJack1 Snow is great though. Snowmen, snowball fights, frostbite, snow forts, what's not to love?
Kharne the Befriender It's just the smug look of eternal irony while you wait for Creed to pull out his Baneblade so you can steal it.
War Kitten I love how this has gone from a deathly serious war to a discussion about how Vanden is secretly a whale wearing panties. Welcome to the Crusade of Fury.
Irishpeacockz Well this crusade will be endless then as I imagine Vandan has a large collection of inflatables lying around

Really? On the older Russ/Chimera kits, I would have said absolutely. But tracks on the current Guard/Marine kits are a piece of piss to put together now.

For GW stuff, the penitent engine.

If you have never tried assembling Wyrd Malifiaux minis, those can be frustrating. They go together well, but, the pieces are so tiny.

This is the standard for all GW. You put together and paint essentially the same thing over and over. As SM is a SM, regardless of color. Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Ultra Marines, and so on and so on, it is all the same.

GW wise: I hate painting tacticals. They look good in the end but they are dull to paint up. Same repetitive lines and features. I know I could drybrush but solid line highlighting makes them pop.

Overall: PSC when it comes to assembly. Their models are a breeze to put together if you know what you are doing. The instructions are so vague it is easy to assemble them wrong. I ruined a 15mm Tiger, for example, because I put the tracks on the wrong way even though the instructions never specified certain tracks go on certain sides. And this was the only tank out of the army box I got that had specified track sculpts. Another annoying thing about the instructions is that they can be very historically inaccurate. So frustrating.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I have a half built fellblade that has been in the box it arrived in 18 months ago because I simply cannot be bothered to straighten all of the tracks, lascannons, other parts and fill the gaps in the kit.... I've even asked commission painters/builders if they can build it for me for a fee, of course. It's hard to find someone who will build it without painting it..

1. Ghost Ark. One of the few things about crons I dislike more than the dex itself

2. Fire Raptor. I suppose if the hull wasn't warped into the shape of a shoe horn, this probably wouldn't be on the list. But the warping combined with terrible instructions lands this one at number 2.

3. Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbikes. I don't think I need to elaborate on these. Those who have built these know of what I speak. Those who haven't, we'll trust ne. You aren't missing any savory life experience.

Runner up: Drop Pods. They would have been tied with the ghost arks until I figured out that things are much easier when you build them from the top down.

Or you can just keep buying chaos everything, and not play them. Just sit alone in your room for years, painting and detailing, and detailing some more. Then keep doing that for years until you own upwards of 10000 points of chaos. Keep shining their swords and sharpening their knives. Then some day, some wonderful day, when a new book comes out that will realize your armies' potential, come out from hiding. Everyone will have thought you had left warhammer 40k for good, but no, you had been training, preparing, and brooding for this moment. Return with such vengeance and hatred that you will not hold back, and you will destroy everything in your path. Like a true chaos crusade, wait for the right moment, then burst forth from the Eye of Terror and unleash your pain on the whole universe. And when they cry and complain that you are OP and that it's not fair. Reassure them that it's true. It isn't fair, but it's what they DESERVE. All of them, each and every one of them deserve to be obliterated into oblivion. And if they ask you to play with a fluffy army, tell them you will do so. But on game day bring the meanest nastiest, ugliest army you can. Give them no opportunity for victory, give them no opportunity for enjoyment. Your only goal is to inflict as much pain and suffering as possible. And when they cry, and they will cry, laugh at them, drink their salty tears, and bath in their sweet, sweet blood.

My first ork trukk I no longer talk about. I was a beginner and didn't know how to paint and we don't talk about it.

My second trukk was some trukk bits on a 90% plasticard conversion. It was a hummer-type deal so it was easy to paint.

Now that I've bought a new ork trukk and started painting it.......I HATE IT. I love the model, assembling it wasn't super fun but lots of converting can go into it. There's so much obscured detail, and with how it builds you can't really paint it in that many separate pieces. I have both drivers and the wheels seperate, but with the frame idk how I'm going to attempt the engine. Luckily my orks only need 2 trukks, as I won't be getting more.

edit: it doesn't help that most people's Bad Moon trukks are 90% black with only a couple plates yellow, whereas I go full yellow on my Bad Moonz. So the internet is no help at all.

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct.
