Hey guys and beautiful gals I need some help please and thank you.

I bought the skelley horde start collecting box. It says you can build manfred on his mount 10 skellies and 5 black knights.

So my question is can I build ONLY them? Or is it he normal box which has archaon and nefferta and wraith knights or what ever ya call em?

Thank you in advance.

I need to go to work every day.

It contains the same sprues as if you had bought the kits separately. In other words, you can build the alternate versions. Pretty sure the Skeletons are just Skeletons, but the other two units can be built multiple ways.

I just bought the Clans Pestilens one for Skaven and it comes with a Plague Furnace (that can be built as a Screaming Bell) and a Plagueclaw (that can be built as a Lightning Cannon).

The Plague Furnace is a particularly nice kit, because if you're willing to convert just a tiny bit... like, barely at all... you can get a Plague Furnace, Plague Priest and Grey Seer. Three units in one kit!

I wonder if you could use the spare crew to pull the cart rather then ring the bell..... Like the plague monks with the rope in front of the cart with the rope tied to the cart. Or the rat ogre's hand on the cart pulling it along....

Well, this is what I'm doing...

The Plagueclaw comes with three Skaven who are supposed to be standing on the thing. I think it looks cramped with them onboard, so I'm putting them on 25mm rounds and standing them near the thing as "unofficial crew". I can also use them to bulk out a unit of Plague Monks, if needed.

The Plague Furnace has three Skaven who are all one big chunk of plastic swinging the giant censor. They stand on the back. I'll be using them as intended. The Plague Priest who normally stands on the front is going on a 40mm round instead and is going to be a stand alone Priest. The Plague Furnace is an impressive enough looking model that nobody is going to complain that the Priest isn't standing on it. Honestly, only people super familiar with the model will notice. I'll have the Grey Seer on Bell and Rat Ogre pulling rope spare bits that I'll just base on 40mm/60mm rounds and call it a day. Pretty sure the Rat Ogre will be easy to convert to have a sword in his hand. He might even get some armor panels added onto him.

Thematically, the cart is pulled by surrounding units of Plague Monks... not by its crew.

Put the plauge priest on a 25mm base and he fits into the space for him and is removable. The ogre needs to have something behind him as he will be looking at the sky otherwise imo. Even the grey seerer can go on a seperate base as well.

Back to the skeletons the kit can make all veriations of horse riders and monster riders the only choice with the troops is sword or spear and command choices.

You'll struggle to make Archaon from the kit, but yes, you can make either Manfred, Neferata or Arkhan.

Probably cheaper because the quality of sculpts is vastly inferior. The only thing the Mantic undead range does better are the Zombies. Everything else is much worse in my opinion.

Yeah but if your playing undead you'll need volume for zombies and skellies and that price difference soon adds up.

If you want vampire knights what will you pick £25 for mantics or £61.50 for GW's?

Are you buying the army to play or display on a shelf, me I consider them wound counters so I pick the option that's better value.

There's the difference between me and you then because my models are more than just gaming pieces to me and sit proud in my display cabinet

There's nothing wrong with just seeking the cheapest "wound counters" if that's what you want, of course.
