So I was looking through 1d4chan's page on alpharius, just trying to get some insight into if he's worth taking, and I came across this line.

"A true son of Alpharius would field him and Omegon and have them fight enemy primarchs together in order to win."

So I have to ask, is there an Omegon unit, Can I actually field both primarchs legally, or is this just meant to be amusing?

If this is actually legal then which Horus Heresy book is it in?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Primarch is classed as lord of war.

Most lists limit you to one lord of war.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Omegon doenst have rules, so that would also limit your ability to field both.

It's intended as a joke. However, if your opponent is willing to let you use alpharius' rules for omegon and willing to let you field them both in the same game, and you can field more than one lord of war somehow, then yes you could. However it would require a conversation with your opponent first and they will likely only do it if they have a good sense of humor.

Yeah I figured there wasn't a way to get away with it. It's a shame, would've been fun to have two sneaky bastards hidden in tactical squads.

Isn't there a formation that grants extra Lord of War slot? If so, that would be the best route, but like said above...There is only rules for Alpharius. But then again the best part about 30k is the theme and story behind it, so why not? I cant see a huge advantage of taking the same Primarch twice.

They never take to the field together, remaining separate to better coordinate and lend strength.

So the single Alpharius you field could be Alpharius, or Omegon, or Alpharius, or, indeed, Alpharius.

In the "Legion" they did not fought side by side. One of them was coordinating the forces from afar, while the other took to the field, alongside his men.

Bingo. They wanted it kept secret that they were twins, so only one would be shown publicly.

However with twin Primarchs running around you'd convince me with rule of cool if you had both modelled.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Spoiler:
In preparation to infiltrate the Sol System in the Solar War, Alpharius used his Librarians to seemingly switch bodies with his trusted Harrowmaster Kel Silonius. To ensure secrecy, Alpharius also erased his own memories and took on Silonius' persona. As the real Silonius led a a fleet of 200 Alpha Legion warships into the Sol System, Alpharius led a Headhunter and human operative team in setting the stage for its arrival through acts of sabotage and preparation. During the final action, Alpharius' memories were restored by psychic trigger. - There is nothing in this that prevents Alpharius' persona being reactivated in his other form and reclaiming it from Kel Silonius... or from having buried himself safely in any number of other Alpha Legion... and the Alphas stole the genetic materials necessary to create primarchs... Whilst Omegon might feel alone at that time, without his brother 'active', there is nothing at all to prevent his brother making a comeback at any time, including 40k as well

Holy Terra.

I would let you take both, but only if I could take both as well. Then id find myself some more Alpha Legion/Other Legion players and have them field both. Better yet, a 50000 points Apocalypse game with ONLY Alphariuses and Omegons! Watch everyone shout "I AM ALPHARIUS!!!!! simultaneously! Fun!

my guess is he remains dead. Omegon is the one killed by Gulliman, and that the practice of each new alpha legion leader simply sliding into place as Alpharius becomes a "thing"

I think if Alpharus and Omegon ever got rules representing them together it would probably end up being written like Perturabo with Tormentor, where you effectively get two lords of war and only the cost of Perturabo counts towards the 25% restriction.

I'm still hoping for Omegon to become Janus, the first Grandmaster of the Grey Knights. Alternatively he could be the big secret behind Omega Vault.

I wouldn't mind seeing rules for Omegon in his Ifrit Stealth Squad incarnation. That would be a handy and interesting way to field both. In which case, I would absolutely allow both to be used, and I'm sure there would be rules for both to be used together.

[spoiler] I'm sure you gentlemen are familiar with the concept of the "Unreliable narrator." If there was ever to be an unreliable narrator in a 40K/30K narrative it would be an Alpha Legionnaire, or the most Alpha of all Alpha legionaries... Omegon/Alpharius himself.
For all we know Omegnon could have been all like "Ive never....felt so alone"....right before turning to the shadows and winking at his twin

This can be carried out by placing two small stiff wooden boards on the table, one blue, one yellow...
