The White Dwarf modelling page above says "what do you get if you mix a Genestealer Cult upgrade sprue and Cadian command squad"

So it is safe to assume so.

Gonna go with "yes"

Right, I misread that.

So this release has gotten me to stop lurking here and so exicted for it, notice some cool this is towards the bottom of the description of the codex on gw site
- the Cult Ambush rule: dependent on a dice roll, Genestealer Cults units can set up anywhere on the table, deploy and charge in the same turn, and burst from their hidden lairs to surprise and engulf the enemies of the Cult;

So we might be getting assault from reserves back for genestealers and other units! This is definitely towards the style of the army and will be so cool!

Plus it's fairly credible that a GW marketing campaign for their biggest release would fit on one side of A4 - Flashman

Aye, hence I expect IG to lose Veterans and Conscripts when the next codex hits.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The only thing this is missing is an Ogryn-sized release, IMO. Giant abominations or whatever could've been sooo good grotesques, big mutants, weapon servitors, better spawns etc.Thinking about it, GW isn't doing a lot of those ogre/troll/grotesques types in plastic or am I wrong? Kurnoth Hunters recently, but before that? Tons of monstrous cav and Termi-sized stuff and large kits, yeah, but infantry monsters?

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Geez if that is true GSC is going to be super powerful. Probably way more powerful than the DW release. Good for Nids and Xenos players get some diversity out there in the meta before it gets nuuked in 8th.

Or you roll a one on your random table and the enemy gets to ambush you! :p (or anything lower than a 5/6 , I imagine.)

There are veterans in the command sqd box.

Lets see what happen to Cadia in the near future campaings, If fenris is under attack, its not to far to Cadia.
Perhaps AM need a compleat newly styled set of poster boy uniforms next year.

On topic: I really hope they do a white dwarf page with Goliath truck rules for AM. They look really nice.

Well colour me impressed, GW - the Neophyte box is exactly what Chaos Cultists should have been. Might even have to get some of those Shotguns for my IG

Bikers could have fit in here, since as mentioned, civilians should be able to get those and they could have meshed with the concept of civvies rising up.

I'm saying that neither will get bikes, unless GW updates the concept of Rough Riders.

Source on this? Also seems weird they'd be 8pts per, as the favoured disciples worked out as 7.something per model.

You can always just use cult bikers as another type of Rough Rider. I don't think anyone would complain in a game.

This release is looking better and better all the time though - the goliath looks great, and the upgrade sprue is going to make creating brood brothers and their vehicles a lot of fun. Nice work GW!

Well it seems that whatever hole in their code that allowed preorders to be downloaded early at Black Library has been patched. I guess i'll have to wait for leaks like every other green-blooded cultist here. It's a shame i'm not better at hacking.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

The only possible issue I'm seeing is that if Deathwatch:Overkill is anything to go by, those Hybrids are 7 points each. That means we'll be needed a fair few of them, and yet they are sold in packs of 5 and at £5 per miniture forming the kind of horde you'd want to see will be exorbitantly expensive.

If I remember right a Hybrid was basically an Ork with Str 4 T3 instead of S3 T4, I4, Fearless and AP 5 rending for around the same price point. People are going to want hordes of 30 lead by a Zealor granting Primus, but that unit will cost £150! Lovely models, but I hope they've suped up the Hyrbid rules to mean we don't have to get so many.

Damn you GW! Never a big cult fan- more of a Nid purist and managed to resist Overkill but these look so good. Even just as a painting/modelling project I think I may pick them up and possibly investigate Killteam rules.. GW you clever, clever bastards..Definitely getting the next WD too for the articles and especially the interview with Jes- I'd bet he has a sizeable input in this..
Looks like a brilliant releases model wise. More releases like this please [although I may become homeless trying to buy it all!]

Cool vehicle. Looks like they will be getting an open topped vehicle which seems key for an assault army.

If you want to go the cheap route buy a guardsman box or two and just use the extra hands/heads.

If box=unit that we would loose is the infantry platoon, because we buy troops in squads not platoons.
Unfortunately I don't think we will see an AM rule set for the Goliath as it is very clearly a civilian vehicle. But I would be surprised if FW didn't do something with that kit because it would make the base of an awsome combat engineer vehicle. Do you hear that FW! You took away the Atlas! Give us a combat engineer Goliath!

Well, I don't plan to start a GSC army at all. But I wanted a codex for the fluff. And now I will be getting 2 of those Goliaths to make into Ork Battlewagons. They are so perfect for the role to add variety.

That was the height of the Chapterhouse mess, so everything that didn't have a model went away. Plus now they are making plastic special characters, as standalone kits even, so some of those lost characters may make a return.

Oh man. I still have my hopes up that there will be a genestealer only formation (Ie, like 3 units of genestealers and a patriarch) that allows them to assault from reserves. Tyranid players would happly throw that formation into their own army lists to make genestealers playable again!

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before in this thread, but has anyone mentioned the standard bearer in the middle of this throng? (Sorry, can't figure out how to embed the image, it's from Auro's post on page 30).

The banner looks bigger than either of the ones from the two infantry boxes, so looks like it's either going to be part of the upgrade sprue (unlikely), or the clampack character will be some kind of banner bearer. Thoughts?

Yep! Limo is all a state of mind really - the goliath is civilian enough looking that almost anything folks have modded up over the years should work.
