I'm really looking forward to using cult models in killteam. Sadly I'll need to wait a few weeks before I can pick up any of the new models, although they look quite stunning. I did pick up a codex to give the rules a read through and I have two sets of Overkill that I need to address before taking on any new models.
I picked up a cube of the dice and while they are ok I'm a bit disappointed as they are rather dull compared to the pictures on the website. The centers are clear with the outside edges being dark purple which makes the numbers a bit tricky to read at a quick glance. The pre-order advertisment had me pretty excited as the way they were lit and displayed it gave them a pearlescent appearance and they looked so much better than the actual product. I would have vastly preferred a solid die in dark purple with the center inserts being a pink pearlescent material as it'd really shine, while having the GSC logo on them is a nice touch they basically look very dark and a bit bland.

This Genestealer Cult Battlescribe catalogue is pretty much functionally complete. Just need to add some weapon profiles and rule references once I'm done assembling the 40,000 new models that arrived this weekend.

I keep getting "the file is corrupted" for your catalogue @xttz. Dunno if it's an issue with the download or something on my end though.

An assembly note: the shotgun arms fit almost perfectly onto the DW:OK Neophyte bodies (just find the right hand spacing), and head sockets are the same. Bless our new CAD overlords!
Also, if you trim the arms off the DW:OK Acolytes you can build them with the extra weapons from the standalone Acolytes box. Again, they fit on beautifully just with that tiny bit more modification needed. Head sockets are the same.

A few people I've linked it to elsewhere have given feedback, so I don't think it's any issue with the file. To use it all I do is copy to BattleScribe\data\Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition and start a new roster as normal. I'm using version 1.15.07 if that helps.

It shouldn't be much of a concern to take Flyrants + Mucolids. They are probably the easiest ally to insert into an army.

this week (from grot orderly)
OK, so it seems that GW is going with the one boring, one amazing week for releases. This week is the boring one.
New on offer will be eleven Texture Paints in bigger, 24ml pots, +10%.
Aparently there is some kind of dispenser to be got if you buy the whole set plus additional 5% discount.
From other news we got Genestealer Cults: Leman Russ and Neophyte Hybrid Armoured Claw.
First is just a regular Leman Russ with an upgrade sprue, the other is ten Shock Troopers with Chimera and again, an upgrade sprue with heads, guns and such.
Citadel Texture Paint - 4,50 GBP / 6 EUR
Genestealer Cults: Leman Russ - 32 GBP / 42 EUR
Neophyte Hybrid Armoured Claw - 35 GBP / 45 EUR
Unfortunately there's nothing more... well... except for the fact that there is another mat coming from GW. This time it's again a 4x4 mat but with Khorne theme to it.

Firstly, thanks for putting this together.
It appears I am getting the same error when trying to open. Battkescribe says it is corrupt and deletes it. On attempting to open it with an editor it doesn't look quite right, perhaps your file has been overwritten.
Just wanted to pass on the feedback, thanks
Edit - should mention that I am using 1.15.09
Edit 2 - Looks like it was an issue with my phone browser. Just downloaded the file from my PC and it works fine on both the desktop version and android version. Looks great, thanks for the work on this!

After a little more building, you can build all the Acolyte optional builds on trimmed DW:OK torsos EXCEPT for the Rock Drill, as that uses a special torso and backpack. Oh, and probably the leader. Still, it's going to jazz up my two DW:OK boxes no end... 29 Acolytes in total, so I can build a bunch of small Acolyte squads with heavy CCWs or demo charges, and a 6-strong Metamorph Squad.

Quick question and didn't want to start another thread for a yes/no answer. Are there any rumors about a new dex for nids? I'm wanting to start a new army, and a small force (3rd time doing nids..) and would like to plan out if I need to buy this current dex or not.

The current expectation is that full codex updates are on hold until 8E is released next year (the 30th anniversary of 40k). In the meantime we get mini-codexes (like GSC & Deathwatch) and small updates like Angel's Blade that don't have a massive impact. Hopefully Tyranids will be high on the list to be updated after 8E as they are quite popular in terms of sales.

0 rumors, honestly I would think GK's would be soon with a duel army box set, something like another CSM or Daemons 1/2 for some formations and supplement Dex for GK's.
I personally dont see Nids being rumor till Jan-March.

2nd and 3rd editions beg to differ. Pretty sure SM's werent junk in 4th and 5th either and in 5th wolves were def not wimps. And remind me but weren't tau in 6th ed pretty good?

CSM, DA were terrible, and looking at 5th GK being almost last was amazing. But tau wasnt 1st or 2nd, 7ed came out May? and Tau wasnt till Oct a year later.
