Tim H. had a Genestealer Ark in his codex (sadly not in the edited version of the Citadel Journal) - so why not use a whole tank?

This Genestealer Cult Battlescribe catalogue is pretty much functionally complete. Just need to add some weapon profiles and rule references once I'm done assembling the 40,000 new models that arrived this weekend.

Superb - thanks for this - one observation, the formations detachment doesn't allow for adding Lords of the Cult ... Lord of the Cult: Just a Patriarch, Magus, Primus or Cult Iconward - it'd be great to have these added - the rest of my upcoming force built beautifully, but these are missing for my Patriach and Magus

Still haven't gotten my stuff yet either, reminds me of how impatient am.

So it's been a while... what kind of armaments can a sentinel have? Would these make a good proxy even though they have 2 power fist arms?

Funny you mention that; - the empty space at the back of a Goliath is just screaming for a throne. May have to do some test fits once it releases.

I got a kick out of the fact that the "example player" named for how to build a GSC army was Tim.

GWs fans like their miniatures to be expensive, their products to be Limitied edition, their novels to be as short as possible and their rules to have no balance, is it really a suprise they continue to cater to that audience by putting the symbol on the one?

lol, it's pretty much the only logical explanation that I can think of to explain the symbol on the 1 rationale.

I joined the FB group. There's a thread with people saying your Genestealers can't be 'Purestrains' unless they're on 32mm bases.

Doubt I'll be in that group long.

The "Neophyte Hybrids" box feels like with some head swaps and removal of the cult icons is a necromunda gang box. I also find it interesting their are no sculpted Genestealer Cult Icons on the hull of the Goliath. Feels like they left it open as a "technical" type unit I could see other armies getting. (Chaos Cultists, Poorly Equipped IG, ect)

I can kinda see the logic they used to come to that conclusion. Since the ones in Overkill were on 32mm. But considering the current genestealers are designed to be built with 25mm slota bases in mind, I don't seen them repacking the current genestealers anytime soon.

I still got all my Space Hulk Genestealers. Kinda Tempted to actully get them painted. They would look good on the 32mm's to boot anyway.

Seems pretty clear cut to me...

This box set contains eight multi-part plastic Genestealers, and includes a host of additional components allowing you to represent a number of weapon-symbiotes or biomorph enhancements. Models supplied with 25mm round bases.

Models and Base Sizes
The rules in this book assume that models are mounted on the base they are supplied with. Sometimes, a player may have models in his collection on unusually modelled bases. Some models aren’t supplied with a base at all. In these cases (which are, in all fairness, relatively few and far between), you should always feel free to mount the model on a base of appropriate size if you wish, using models of a similar type as guidance.

Oh indeed, it's a non-question but TFGs abound...

For that logic to be valid there would have to be specific purestrain genestealer model so the TFG's for example couldn't use old genestealer models on 32mm bases to claim that logic as by their logic they aren't then anymore using purestrain stealer models but proxying it at which point you could say "no proxying" and hey presto he cannot field them.

Anybody seen specific purestrain stealer models from GW that are different to non-purestrain and which are on 32mm bases? Currently GW shop shows only one result for purestrain and that's stealers with 25mm base.

So if anybody tries it's laughably easy to prove them wrong. If I were in tournament with 'stealers I would find it amusing if somebody tried to pull that stunt since I could embarass them ridiculously easily.

One thing I definitely noticed in this codex vs other 7th ed dexes: Art instead of just model pictures when it comes to the unit fluff entries! I'll have to check my other recent codexes when I get home, but I thought they'd removed that, and if they have, it's great to have it back!

I just wish they'd move away from the "artists must only depict exactly what is in the box, no creativity allowed" policy. I know, I know, knockoff model makers whatever, but c'mon. Would it really kill you to depict an Aberrant in the art in some way that's NOT exactly the one hammer-carrying dude with half a robe over his leg that you get in DWO? Show one in the scary robes you talk about in the fluff, maybe one with crazy spawn tentacles on his back or something.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Can anyone tell me if the genestealer tendril feeder head can fit on a hormagaunt body? I asked awhile ago but got no answer in the modeling page, and I'd like to get to ordering some models. Thanks for any replies. And if anyone happens to have a picture, that would just be absolutely amazing.

I know when I was in my local GW picking up mine that they said this had been the most oversubscribed set yet and pretty much every store was screaming at head office to make more

but whether head office will listen I'm not sure

I do not know. I do know that my local GW did not even get a single set of dice in to put on the shelves.

A Protoss colony world

Maybe I missed it in the last few pages or something, but is there any chance they will release the Ghosar Quintus Broodkin (all the GSC models from DW:OK) as a boxed set kind of like how they did Kill Team Cassius? I was hoping to pick up a set at some point just to have all the models from the game (I'm regretting splitting the box with a friend nowadays).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 40 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

It's entirely possible - the same HQ units sprue from Overkill was already released as the Broodcoven box. I can plausibly see GW releasing the bulk infantry sprues as part of a 'Start Collecting' or limited-run formation box later on. However I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, as they will want to maximise sales of the new Neophyte / Acolyte boxes first. Perhaps around xmas.
