Page number please (if it had been post before..)

There hasn't been one, but Start Collecting kits tend to be a decent amount of time after the initial release.

I thought the Tau one was pretty swift after that release?

Tau one was part of a big push with lots of kits. The one-off releases haven't seen their SCs for a bit.

Easily done I suppose. Though I'm sure there will be some "whites only club" cultist types in 40k as well.

GSC Start Collecting! box guess: Sentinel or Goliath truck with some neophytes, 5 acolytes, and Magos w/familiars or a Primus on his own.

if they release a sc box for gc, the HQ will be the banner bearer. The other HQ are not on a distinct sprue

Or they could just include the entire partiarch/magus/primus sprue. Everyone would already own one from DW:O and they're 1 per Insurrection, so I could definitely see them doing this.

Question: Is there a way other than the IG re-packs to get the Hybrid upgrade sprue? Does the Goliath come with it?

I emailed customer service the other day and they said no, the extra sprue is only in the repacks.

I'm hoping they decide to sell that separately soon

Heck with that, it's odd seeing it coming from someone who is posting from the UK, if the flag next to his name is accurate.

That's a bit of a shame... unless their strategy is to get rid of these particular IG kits as much as possible due to their age, in prep of replacing them with something down the line... or simply to purge some stock.

Ah well, I suppose a Leman Russ is not he worst thing to be force to buy...

Well, the upgrade sprue was specifically designed for the Cadians, the heads are not interchangeable with the normal Neophyte ones out of the box. So it makes some sense to sell it with the kits it was intended for.

I' sure they won't since it would put way too much of the value of the box toward the HQ. Even the best sc boxes give you no more that 150 canadian worth of stock. These 3 hq are 75 canadian, so the only thing you could get is them with a hybrid box (125$) or a goliath (145$). No way will they release such a gakky box

My guess for a Start Collecting! Genestealer Cult Set would be:
1 Iconward ($25 US)
1 Neophyte Hybrid Squad ($45 US)
1 Sentinel ($30 US) or 1 Chimera ($ 38 or so)
(leaning towards the sentinel)

If you got a handful of these, you'd be able to use the handful of HQ guys you'd get all at once unlike most of the other Start Collecting! box sets...

The main alternative now is that the Neophyte kit comes with a bunch of spare heads, nearly enough for 2 squads. The only way I know to get the vehicle-sized cult icons is to chop up the cult icon upgrades from the Acolyte & Neophyte boxes.

I'm still waiting on my Codex to arrive.

The Familiars add extra attacks, but can't be attacked, so they are basically decorative wargear.

Is there any reason not to just glue them to the Patriarch's base if you intend on using them all the time ?

Can't be attacked as in targeted or just outright? Could they still generate hits on the Patriarch due to being under a template, for example?

They are like tokens - purely representative of wargear. Definitely could glue them directly to the base if you always intend to use them.

Like the armorium cherub or whatever in the new Devastator kit.

Excellent, that's what I thought.

Magnetized mine.

Another thought: anyone just planning on putting bigger banners on plastic banner holding Acolytes, instead of buying Iconwards ?

There doesn't seem to be anything all that distinctive about the Iconward model.

I was thinking of putting one of the spare banners from the cadian command squad on one of my plastic hybrids to make an iconward - there's even a picture of a very similar banner for the hivecult on page 21 of the codex.

If you always plan to take both famiiars, they would make great wound counters when magnetised.

That's exactly what I ended up doing. Found a cheap Cadian Defense Force on ebay and managed to convert a free Iconward from it.

Alot of people myself included didn't realize the Hybrid box comes with both the 10 man Cadian Shock Trooper Squad AND a heavy Weapon team. The box is slightly cheaper then buying just these two kits seperatly.

If you know anyone who is starting a IG army, this is a great way to build your squads, since it then gives them a Genestealer Upgrade sprue they can sell/trade to cult players. This gives the IG player a further discount on the squad, and the cult player gets the sprue cheaper then what GW would prob sell it for anyway.

That's really cool. A few human skulls on the banner would really set it off, maybe use some of the spare Cadian Helmets over the skulls too?

Hrm, I was thinking of doing the same thing. Shame that banner is molded with the iconography on the flag. Might have to greenstuff over it or find a blank banner... maybe Fantasy has some. Hrm.

Saw these guys in the flesh today. All in all, its pretty pricey, but they are exactly what you'd want in a cult. Excellent looking truck, and I recommend looking for off market bald heads sprues, such as vic's prisoner heads, or some of those Pig Iron ones, if they are still available. I wasn't too excited about the IG cheese. Seeing as I was looking for a few that were along the lines of the old school space suit/ hybrid suits.

The figures in the truck do not go along with the IG figures, they look like a totally different style. Hope we can get some new kits later. BUT- I dug for a few head conversions for the masses- might need to look at weapons swaps, next. DO some head swaps on some Chaos Renegade cultists, and you can add some variety to the troops. Additional thought- Anyone thinking up any Tau, Ork, or Eldar hybrids, yet?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

You realise there are two kinds of Neophyte boxes? The Hybrid style and the IG-with-bald-heads style?
