I have fallen in love with 30k emperors children models and have been using kakophani as blastmasters and palentine blades as noise marines with CC weapons, not only is this cheaper than 40k noise marines they look better and are arguably fluffier. Now I need to add terminators to my army due to the fact that I lack any anti-tank/vehicle and I want to purchase 10 beautiful pheonix guard terminators for a terminator annhalation force. Only problem is how do I display combi melta on the model? I want 2 squads of 3 terminators with combi melta and 1 squad with combi bolter, so I cant use the "they are holding their CC weapons" excuse because that is only viable if they have the same equipped alternate weapons but they arent all equipped with combi melta so it can be problematic identifying them on the table.

Anyone have any solutions? What can I do to the models to signify they have differing weapon types? Maybe paint their armour trim silver for the ones with combi bolters?

I'm speculating (since the only FW Terminators I've built are Firedrakes, whose left arms are pretty occupied with the storm shields) but could you figure out a way to fit a wrist-mounted version? Combi-weapons in most 40k kits have pretty small melta muzzles to use as a starting point.

You might get people asking why there are Grey Knights in with your Emperor's Children, though.

Get the Tartaros combi bolter set. Now get the FW combi weapons set. Cut off the combi-bolters off the Tartaros hands. Now cut off the power armor hands off the combi meltas. Glue the combi-meltas onto the Tartaros hands. Hack off the hands not holding a sword and glue on your new combi-melta hands. Boom, WYIWYG'd that bitch.

You could try doing a swap of the left forearm for Grey Knight forearms to get a wrist storm bolter, then mod some of them to be combi-meltas. It would be difficult, but I think it would give the best results.

Or just straight up attach the terminator combi melta to the Phoenix terminator, hand included. The hands are separate from the arms except for the two arms not holding onto the spear. I have an entire squad of EC terminators armed with combi bolter and axe that I used the Phoenix bodies and arms for.

I modded my GK Librarian from a stock GKT, and drilled out the outer Stormbolter barrel for an inset magnet. From my bitz box, I clipped off the barrels of a spare Meltagun, Plasmagun and Flamer, and put those on magnets to allow me to swap out barrels on the Librarian's "Combi-". Was a bit of overkill since I only ever run him with the Plasma barrel, but the idea is still sound as I still have the easy option of swapping out barrels as needed.

Do the combi-melta hands fit pheonix terminators? I would have assumed they would be for normal marines not terminators.

You could also add them to the weapons just below the blades like a Custodes spear.

The terminator combo weapons are for terminators.

So just to clarify, this set https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Legion-Combi-weapon-Set-2015# can fit on pheonix terminators?

If not it looks like my only other option is to buy several of these https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Legion-Tartaros-Terminator-Special-Weapons-Set which I hopefully want to avoid due to the costs.

Thoughts?
