His torso is still really off. It is shaped like a barrel.

I think someone at FW went: "We can't sell this... thing. Give it to GW, they'll sell it for a premium price."

It's such an awful sculpt. Somehow about all of them are already pre-ordered at the GW I go to.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

Bad miniature is bad and should feel bad.

Whoever sculpted this is bad and they should feel bad.

Do you suggest that the miniature sculpted itself?

It's probably the only thing that will take credit for doing so...

I think the question to be asked is not who sculpted it, but who took the picture.

It’s still not the best looking mini out there. But it looks like the photographer took his shot from the worst possible angle. The legs are not as bad as they looked from the pic.

Still needs a headswap, but that’s an easy fix.

I love how the painter decided to give him a five o'clock shadow. Like he didn't already look enough like a drunken lout from the just the sculpt.

He was recruited from an obscure agriworld called Alabama.

Hmn, the sculpting isn't very good, but that's par the course.

I like him. Sort of. For what it is.

...

Again, the actual details, etc aren't amazing, a bit shallow in paces (those arms), though not terrible. What I like however is, despite being god awful, an attempt has been made to give the give a semblance of a waste. His shoulders are still too far apart and head's massive, but what'ya gonna do?

...What?

That does look better. They seem to have picked the absolute worst angle to photograph it from. It really contributed to foreshortening his legs and making him look really chunky... but I think his head is too small - it makes everything look disproportionately bloated.

My working tinfoil theory now is that it's a Ventanus sculpt that didn't pass muster but is being sold anyway as a LE "banner bearer" instead. He shares a bunch of visual details with Ventanus in the FW HH book (the grille and tubes on the chest are the same, and the artwork has a spiked shoulder pad - the same spikes are on this mini's leg). I mean, he's holding the 4th company banner.

It would go some way to explain the crap head too. Rush job.

That isn't exactly a conspiracy theory as that's exactly what happened with the Imperial Fist Champion in their command pack. That was meant to be Sigismund.

Oh, OK. There I was thinking I was both Mulder and Scully. Don't need the tinfoil after all.

Actually caved in a bought one late in the day. Definitely convertible. The wacky workshop I was in had nearly a full rack of em still available. Not sure how that measures up compared to the previous limited forge world sculpt
