I wonder if they will roll some of the faction specific cities of death stuff into the book. The black legion and crimson slaughter supplements lost theirs.

We had a long discussion about the "Balewind" at my FLGS.
The rules say you can not move closer than 3". We decided you can still be charged though, If the charging unit has reach to the spellcaster on top of it.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Actually a Chaos Sorcerer summoning daemonic units deep into the rear of the enemy army seems the best trick so far. I dropped a unit of Pink Horrors and a Daemon prince and totally screwed up my opponents attack plans.

Hmmm, they couldn't possibly be thinking of moving away from a d6 system, could they?
There's been a lot of chatter / speculation about 40k 8th edition and that would sure as hell be a way to shake things up. IIRC one of the common complaints I've seen, aside from the general messiness of the rules, is that d6s just don't give enough range of probability.
I think it's unlikely, but with the new GW it seems like anything is possible!

This may have been answered, but what is up for pre-order from the 12th through the 19th? Or better, what is coming in November? I know the new scenery, wound trackers, and Premium SC boxes but I'm dying to know!

I did, but I also included a few items which technically aren't Fortifications at the moment which seemingly has thrown my count wonky or I messed up somewhere.
Here's the list I've compiled as of now
Spoiler:
1
Aegis Defense Line
2
Imperial Bastion
3
Imperial Strongpoint(Fortification Network)
4
Honoured Imperium
5
Wall of Martyrs Imperial Defense Line
6
Wall of Martyrs Imperial Defense Emplacement
7
Wall of Martyrs Imperial Bunker
8
Wall of Martyrs Firestorm Redoubt
9
Wall of Martyrs Vengeance Weapon Battery
10
Wall of Martyrs Imperial Defense Network(Fortification Network)
11
Promethium Relay Pipes
12
Void Shield Generator
13
Void Relay Network(Fortification Network)
14
Skyshield Landing Pad
15
Fortress of Redemption
16
Macro-Cannon Aquila Strongpoint
17
Vortex Missile Aquila Strongpoint
18
Munitorum Armoured Container Cache
19
Plasma Obliterator
20
Tidewall Shieldline
21
Tidewall Droneport
22
Tidewall Gunrig
23
Tidewall Gunfort(Fortification Network)
24
Tidewall Defense Network(Fortification Network)
24 of those are the items that are currently directly referenced as Fortifications. I included, in my initial counts as I think they will likely make an appearance, the Basilica Administratum, Manufactorum, Shrine of the Aquila, and the Sanctum Imperialis despite currently being labeled as "Battlefield Terrain" rather than Fortifications.
PROVISIONAL
25
Basilica Administratum
26
Manufactorum
27
Shrine of the Aquila
28
Sanctum Imperialis
With the Haemothrope Reactors, we're at 29...so most likely I think the Haemothrope Reactors will be rolled into an existing Fortification Network.
This is a bit of speculation on my part, as I think it rather interesting that this book is coming out now when they're purportedly starting to simplify things/get things in line for an 8th edition and turning those items into Fortifications would make a kind of sense, since the MACC didn't need to be a Fortification but could have been Battlefield Terrain as well.
I don't think the Terrian Features will get rolled into the fortifications, since this new book covers Cities of Death Materiel. I would think they would keep the rules for these separate, to tie into the new cities of death missions. I 100% expect the 4 slots this opens up to be filled with new Network formations revolving around the newer terrain. One useing the armoured Containers and one useing the new reactors for sure. The last two are probably fortification networks made up of fortification networks. A Terrian "Decurion" if you will. One Tau and one Imperial.
That's my best educated guess.

A re-release of the Silver Tower Tzeenzch models, maybe even as new multipart kits, would be my guess. The Silver Tower hero models are sold separately soon (preorder next weekend afaik).
This would be similiar to Overkill's Deathwatch and GSC waves.
The lack of actual release infos for these weeks in WD )except for some hobby tools etc) can be seen as another hint that there will be more stuff, currently kept secret, and those Tzeentch products would fit well. It's not going to be the Lord of Change though who was rumored to be released next year (by Sad Panda).

The sprue design for Silver Tower would make it really difficult for the non-hero models to be released separately. The six heroes plus the Gaunt Summoner and Ogroid Thaumaturge are on their own sprues, so not problem there, but all of the minions, including the familiars that actually give the Summoner some survivability on the tabletop, are all on one sprue (technically, two duplicate sprues, but you know what I mean). I doubt we'll see the Tzaangors or Kairic Acolytes until we see a proper Tzeentch Arcanites release.

Good point, multipart kits are very likely. What I meant is a full Arcanite release. In a similiar way what DW and GSC got after Overkill.
But there haven't been any rumors about this for a while. So I am cautious to say it will be now. Chances are good though.
Sad Panda had rumored in 2015 there would be a big Tzeentch release for AoS this year. Not only Silver Tower but AoS with some 40k crossover potential. I am sure this will indeed arrive this year. It would fit either into December - which seems to be Magnus/Fenris II/1k Sons though - or November, before Blood Bowl.
During the Deathwatch release window there was a similiar lack of (reliable) info but they were followed by GSC after a week or two of other products.

There is definitely a shift, but a lot of it is simply the release schedule.
WFB (without End Times) in its final years had maybe ~20% of the release weeks while 40K was in overdrive with codex books, etc..
For 2016 (GW's financial year), the "strategic directive" I know about for certain was to have >50% of release weeks be AoS.
I don't have sales numbers, but I would be surprised if that wouldn't affect the internal 40K-vs-AoS/Fantasy a bit.

False rumors about "all" the GDs being finished are oddly persistent.
While the LoC was finished only recently (and is not in this box), the design team did start off this larger project with some smaller AoS Beastmen minions (technically Birdmen, I suppose) of Tzeentch. Watch out for those.
The working title in the studio is or was Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower.
Will it be the final product name? I don't know.
The concept is a dungeon crawl in an ever-changing labyrinth of Tzeentch, slaying Horrors (that just turn into more, smaller Horrors) and other creatures of Tzeentch.

When did sad panda say Tzeentch stuff was hitting again? I'm expecting a "start collecting" box for them. If it's like Khorne and Nurgle have gotten, I'd expect horrors, screamers and a chariot in it. Which I'm considering picking up today. But if Tzeentch is getting love in the next month or two, I'd hold off.
It begins with the AoS board game, which is more than two months out.
No idea about start collecting boxes and other re-packages.
Excitement usually greater for 40K-stuff (and 30K-stuff), but as I've said in the past, 2016 is first and foremost the year of AoS (for GW).
Overall, AoS will get the most weekly releases, the most new models, the most books, etc...

If you think of a full new CSM Codex 7th Ed. with a full overhaul of rules and/or models, you're probably right.
If you mean absolutely nothing for Chaos Marines, you'll be wrong.
It is true that 2016 will have (among other things) a (mostly AoS) Tzeentch-theme running through it, similar to how 2015 had Khorne.
The reason there likely won't be a Tzeentch Daemonkin, is because GW is doing possible cross-overs a bit more deliberately than the written-over-a-weekend KDK.
That said, just about the only thing in a fairly impressive pipeline of (mostly AoS) Tzeentch that is NOT ready or even sculpted yet, is the LoC. If he comes, he'll be the tail end, possibly as late as 2017, not the kick-off to Tzeentch the way the Bloodthirster was for Khorne.

Yes and no.
Generally, GW has things planned about 2 years in advance. There are clearly several more main-range boxed games (i.e. with miniatures immediately usable in 40K or AoS, like the Calth or EF game) ready and/or planned.
The new specialist game studio is just now being created and recruiting people. To my knowledge, they haven't done any work yet. However, part of their remit supposedly is to turn out products with a shorter lead-time.
What's worth pointing out is that he said financial year. I am now expecting mostly 40k this quarter with thousands sons etc. Next quarter will be more AOS I imagine, hopefully the long awaited Tzeentch Arcanites. I no longer expect to see any more proper AOS releases this calendar year.

I don't think so either. Not that GW uses too many dice, but there is such a rush rolling a lot of d6 instead of rolling d10 or what not. I think d6 is less nerdy/geeky than using d10 or what not and it can attract the "common" person to get into more easier. Yes X-wing uses d8 but it's not really a d8 but with pics on them for hits/miss so again seems less nerdy/geeky for the common person to start playing.
Just like how video games have become "easier" or "dumbed down" for the "common gamer" I think GW using d6 is the same thing. D&D is just too geeky with all the charts, numbers and "weird dice" that using something that "everyone" knows because of gambling or Monopoly, can relate to a d6 but not a d8 or d10 or even d20. So I don't think GW will ever stop using a d6. They could introduce other dice to get better results for something not used often but I think d6 will always be the main dice for 40K .

I couldn't tell from the video where they showed Magnus and the TS sprue if the TS are 30K like the FW models or 40K with the big traditional helmet. My assumption would be they are going to be 30K given the Prospero box just released but then again Magnus is a post heresy Daemon version so I am not quite sure? Also TS are one instance where I prefer the 40K style more.

Gamgee wrote: I am hoping for a new Xenos race. If not possible then a quasi new/updates one so Kroot or Exodite ect. If that isn't possible then updates to the Xenos. Dark Eldar first, then Necrons, Eldar, and Tau.
Rather than new alien race thinning the thin alien support further better support for existing races. There's already enough races as it is but not enough support. What so interesting new race would bring that would be worth even less eldar/dark eldar/tau/ork/tyranid support?.
This is exactly why I'm annoyed with how GW have handled the Tau. I wasn't a big fan of the "thinly-disguised-animoo-weebbait" main faction, each to their own it's just not for me, but when Tau first came out and the fluff made a big deal about them being a coalition of races and all the wierd aliens that serve/are allied to them, it seemed like such a fantastic opportunity to hugely expand the number of Xenos races without having to make loads of new armies, and Kroot & Vespid seemed to indicate GW thought the same.
And then they pretty much dropped the whole thing so they could push ever bigger grimdark Zords
I'd love to see GW really push the "mad menagerie" aspect of the Dark Eldar with lots of new Xenos races, sapient and beasts, and to see Tau realise their IMO true potential as a "wrapper" for loads of cool specialised Xenos units.
As to the rumours, I'm actually not mad at the descriptions of those "hero bases" - have to see what they actually look like ofc but colour me intrigued.
The Tints are interesting, I can see a use for them perhaps in altering the undertones of a metal paint, and if the pigment density is sufficient they could maybe provide a subtle effect when mixed with black.
The new generators, though, only make me feel really sorry for the bloke running Quantum Gothic, who was providing awesome gothic terrain features when the Wall of Martyrs and Void Shield Generator were still a gleam in some GW designer's eye, and that "gothic Hoth generator" style kit is one of the best - now probably a lot less folk will go looking for those since GW will be providing their own variation :/
I'm a bit hesitant to cheer these new "premium" SC boxes though. If they are in addition to the existing £50 boxes and they also provide great value, sure, why not. However. One of the big appeals of the existing SC boxes is they're pretty specialised, so the likelihood of much of the supposed discount being illusory as it comes in the form of models you don't want/need is low, as is the opportunity for GW to cram them with the more janky of the older plastic kits to shift back-stock as they have to be seen to be giving you the best value possible; in bigger, more expensive boxes with more models in, there's also a bigger chance a big chunk will be stuff you don't want, or that they'll throw in a few garbage sprues to clear them out and hope people don't care as they're just a small part of the box - were GW to slow down or event stop doing the smaller SC boxes going forward in favour of the big ones, that would be disappointing. Of course that's a worst-case scenario, and GW have earned a little benefit of the doubt lately, so wait & see on that one I think.

Huh, funny, the nu40K rule system I've been hitting my head against trying to finish for a couple of years uses D12s and a shift to characteristic tests for actions rather than opposed rolls or tables, I'd love to see GW do something like that to modernise 40K, much better than AoS-style pish.

My first thought with them selling "not d10s" is that a future version will use d10.
The bases look cool, but seem out of place in an army because they won't look consistent. So not sure what they are going for; they look COOL, but unless you do a whole army based similarly, the hero base is going to not give a cohesive look.
