So, right now, Abaddon's not taken very seriously by a sizable chunk of the fan base. When End Times roll around, Games Workshop will need to inject some drama into the unfolding conflict... and the only way to prove Abaddon is capable of posing a threat to the newly assembled Loyalist Primarchs is to kill a Primarch. So, who do you think will be Worfed to make Abaddon the threat the galaxy needs, rather than the one it deserves?

Vulkan, because he's a loyalist and a perpetual. Anyone else would result in a permadeath for a legion's Primarch, and I'm inclined to believe that ain't happening any time soon.

Has Abaddon killed an Avatar of Khaine yet? Because the Avatar of Khaine is kind of the go-to WH40k Worf Effect victim.

Who hasn't killed an Avatar of Khaine at this point?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
7 people have voted Daemon Primarchs.... so I probably should have listed them so I'd know which people thought would be Worfed to make Abaddon seem awesome.

Would anyone who voted such like to share which and why?

Some Daemon Prince of high-and-mightiness. Probably Khornate because beating up a Nurgle Prince is just going to be a mess.

It establishes him as a bad-ass, makes a plain and simple case for his being at the top of the pecking order. If he punks a Primarch, that means they can't properly sell that model, now can they?

Huron Blackheart. Has the background to have been a viable contender, so slapping him down would hove a suitable level of badass.

It seems for him to just kill a Daemon Prince would be nothing particularly special for the supposed massive threat he'll need to be, and it should really be a Primarch. For it to be a Traitor Primarch would just be ridiculous and stupid, as it would be like in the end times, when when trying to build up a massive Chaos player to have them kill a Primarch working for the Dark Gods? That's just be miserable. For it to have any impact, it'd have to be a loyalist player. Otherwise, it just amplifies how weak Chaos is due to infighting if they kill one of their own major players rather than the enemy's.

But that's the central theme of Chaos - their worst enemies are on their own side. Abaddon's Black Crusades are noteworthy not because of what little success they have but for the political strength he shows in getting so many warlords to work together for the next brief failure. Which means he'll have to wipe the floor with at least one but probably all the Daemon Primarchs if he wants to get anywhere for real. None of them are going to listen to a jumped-up basic marine otherwise - he's far beneath them.

Chaos, I believe, are about maintaining the status quo, they sell false hope to their followers and then allow plans to fail. The imperium in the 'grim dark future' creates all the fear, anger, gelousy and lies/secrecy that chaos feeds off. The imperium of 40k is perfect for the chaos gods.

It won't be a Traitor Primach. As he's already one their loyalty through gifts, flattery, and simply reminding of there original goal.

I hope no one. He's not a very credible villian and "upgrading" him in such a manner seems cheap and lazy. If anything, any single Primarch should be able to wipe his backside with ol'l Abby.

In order to take him seriously, Abaddon would have to slay Mat Ward.

Calgar.

Ultramarines go through an internal struggle of who to succeed him.

Then Abbadon gets killed by a lucky guardsmen. Chaos then can go through a special "champion of Chaos" campaign to see who is the next (ever)chosen. Little Horus turns up and wins (not sure if he is actually still around)!
