Thanks Nevlon. Funny what you said about the statues. The same formula I use for these guys I used on a giant statue guy in my pre heresy Ultramarines. I was going to do the hazard stripes but decided the mental anguish I would suffer wouldn't be worth it. I'm gonna have 4 pods.

Sang guardare looking great so far. Are you gonna move them to 32mm bases? Having those models on small bases feels like a crime.

Thanks cheese, and you are right. Those little bases just don't work. I got enough 32mm ones for everybody.

So, got a little behind on the updates. I got some work done in the devestators. I went with missile launchers because the have multiple uses and are cheap. I want the core battle company to be useful but not soak up all the points of the army. I also started the 2nd drop pod. One of the Dreads will take a ride in it. I'll have 2 more, probably. Also made a kit bash Sanguinor. I used Death Company Chaplain wings and pieces from that upgrade spruce. We shall see how it turns out, I just can't deal with the GW model.

And the second squad of Sanguinary Guard are done.

Nice update. I like ML Devs, I run them a fair bit with my BA.

The kit bash sanguinor looks promising, looking forward to seeing how that turns out.

Ah yes. I should have mentioned. I have not painted the swords, still trying to decide what to do. There is another guy with a dark green sword too. That's some wash on the sword. The basecoat is silver.

Really nice conversion! I wasn't sure you could capture the very unique look of the Sanguinor with a kitbash, but this guy definitely does, it's the gold head/face that sells it. Good stuff!

A little more progress.....

And he is finished. I tried to match up the bits with the Sanguinors bling. I'd say it was somewhat successful. Although I need a couple vials of blood I think. Gross. The chaplain wings worked out pretty good and I think he has more of a "coming to beat your butt" look rather than the GW "descending from the heavens" look. I think I'll try to knock out those Devestators next.

How distinct is he from the sang guard? From a practical POV, it’s nice to be able to tell the HQs from the units. But he looks to be done in a very similar scheme. Also, I don’t know if it’s just the picture, but the reds seem a little flat.

I like what you’ve done, but compared to the other guy's level of bling, he’s not standing out above them as a named special character.

That's a good point Nev. the Sanguinor isn't loaded with bling but the face and pose set it apart. This guy not as much. I'll think about it. Maybe a nicer base. Also I did mean to highlight the gross blood in the chalice, good catch.

Work and family had the nerve to encroach on my screw around time. So just a little work on the pod hope to have it done this weekend. Then back to building......

A pod with no harnesses is a slightly less painful pod. Good job on them.

Nice work so far! I really like the sanguinary guard. And using the regular uncovered head as a golden death-masque was also a pretty neat idea.

This is true Nevlon. I figure the dread can ride in this one. That way I can pretend I didn't get lazy.

So, 2nd pod done. Also a WIP on one of the many dreads. I tried to make him the same blackish gray as the Drop Pod interior. I don't think it worked out so well. Who knows, lots more to paint.

Ok, small update. I feel better about the black undercoat. I think he is coming along ok.

Looking good. Did you add claws to the dread's feet? or is that how the furiouso comes?

Commando- I don't have an answer for the claws on the feet. This guy came from eBay, I think the previous may have kitbashed a little. But I'm not sure what kits.
