Be better if the people who vote also provide a comment -- it is a discussion board after all.

Ideally those who vote would be those who've read/bought the magazine, but we can't really enforce that so keep your internet poll broomstick of skepticalness ... ? ? ..... or whatever to hand when reviewing the results.

be extra handy if you could say which bits you really did/didn't like, what you'd like tweaked or added and so forth.

Do they also list a price and release date for this one?

I'll buy both of those, when they're released. I don't expect to see my WD for about 2-3 weeks, though. Their delivery is gak house.

Rules for 70 new units and heroes, 30 scenarios and new army creation rules giving a bonus to single army list armies. It's not a very big section.

Index Chaotica and Index Imperialis are preorder Dec 3 for £20, EUR25, $35, CAN$40, AU$55. NZ$65.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at the temporal distort piece. Was this to show us old grognards that our misty eyed memories of Old Dwarf being better are just that by showing off the fething giant issue? The giant issue. A single issue that highlighted everything of how gak WD had become at that point.

This had to have been planned. This is either a wonderful act of trolling by GW or they really are delusional and think everything they produce is gold.

Does anyone remember if there existed Dakka threads like this last time the WD was monthly? (I tried to search but the Dakka search engine is unconvincing to say the least ). It's great that these threads now has a link to last month, making it easy togo back in time. I wonder if the new monthly Dwarf has managed to pull folks back in after the period of Weekly/Visions and it would be interesting to see the number of respondents back in the day.

Judging from the numbers since the relaunch, it's taken quite the nose-dive after initial launch if the Dakka crowd is any indication of the general popularity.

September: 159 respondents*
October: 61 respondents
November: 34 respondents (still ongoing I suppose, though any subscriber surely should have their issue by now)
December: just started...

* I subtract the non-number-score responses as those are presumably from people that didn't read the magazine.

Yeah, I'm not sure if you can take respondents to a thread of a monthly magazine (especially one that's just been relaunched) to mean much at all. I'm sure people discussed the WD issues in some manner, but I do not recall regular threads like this one.

I don't believe so.

Odd issue here and there maybe.

Carpe Diem and so forth though.

I was very happy with the issue.

LOts of lovely nice stuff to read and even reread.

Art etc all very good too.

The match report was, possibly, a wee bit hard to follow in places but one suspects that's as much due to my lack of depth of understanding of BB in it's current form than anything else.

A solid 8 out of 10 from me.

It's an okay issue for sure, the only downside is no Sisters of Silence rules for the Horus Heresy.

Same here. I'm guessing none of the mail subscribers in the US got their's in time due to Thanksgiving, which to be honest is because they could have moved up the mail drop by one or two days to make sure it got to subscribers on time. I know they made sure to have the issue in stores on Friday, of course that was easy since they arrange for new product to be delivered by Wednesday. This will be the 3 out of the 4 months that delivery is late, with two of them being two weeks late. Pretty piss poor so far.

Not sure why they can't drop it to make sure it hits subscribers on time. Rhetorical question. They can, just that subscribers are a low priority for GW. They got our money already and don't seem to care about timely delivery. Needless to say at this point, I will not be renewing.

Well maybe Monday.....

To be fair, about 59 of those September responses were; I haven't gotten mine yet! Due in part to some Kurfluffle with GW and the postal service or some other reason. (Or maybe you deducted those, too?)

Edit; Still waiting for my November magazine.

Nope I did not. I presumed any score given in that poll was given after receiving and reading the WD.

It's not number of posts I'm comparing but number of respondents in the poll.

Alternatively, I responded the first time, didn't bother subsequently. "Yes, I'm still reading it" isn't that high on my priority list.

You've bothered to type a respons in this months thread.
That's a lot more effort than just clicking the poll.

Pros:
Blood bowl - they may have sold me copy come the NY
New rules for various things (I don't play any of them, but cool none the less).
Editorial team are entertaining!

Cons:
So much painting stuff. It's nice to see other peoples armies, models etc, yet I feel they could do more with guest articles that aren't picture heavy.
Please put Golden Daemon in a separate book/pamphlet! I liked collecting those lol.

I'm pretty sure Warseer had either a single thread tracking it, or a thread per issue, back when I still had a subscription (maybe 3 years ago). Though it doesn't look like it's come back yet.

I just got a copy. Actually, I like it. Very much like it used to be.

If they keep this up, I may even be drawn back to GW gaming beyond painting up my 2012 Spacehulk set and Blood Bowl.

Heck, I might even paint up Dreadfleet and Island of Blood, lol.

Well, I'd think about it anyway. A bit.

Only gets a 6 from me.

The coverage on Prospero was good. The pretty pictures were pretty. Simple "How to paint 1000 sons" was helpful and easy for a painter like me to follow.

However, I have no interest in Bloodbowl, and it felt like 1/4 to 1/3 of the magazine was blood bowl. That's not a bad thing, just useless to me. I flew through the book last night.

Also, it lied to me. It said that FW HH Book 7 Inferno will come out this month (Dec 2016). All announcements from the FW crew at events put this as a February 2017 release.

Also, also, I got mine nearly a week after other people started getting theirs (Last Friday). That gak is getting old.

First thing's first:

'...next month we'll be bringing you the rules for the Sisters of Silence.'
White Dwarf November 2016, pg.112

I guess three months before brazenly lying was a good run?

...Or did it get filed with the conclusion to the Battle of Tanrak? (Yeah, I remember Tanrak, Dwarf. I remember).

Oh, snap!

They lied twice in 2 months! (see my post above. FW Book 7 isn't coming out this month, but it says it will in the December WD.)

Not yet ready to give a final score as I am still reading it, but it got two points off for being late which as previously mentioned is the 3rd out of the 4 month it was late.

Articles that I liked so far;
Magnus the Red model profile. Some great insights that had there been no article or just glory shots, would have missed out on some really creative details. It really helped add mystique, uniqueness, and depth to the model and a greater appreciation for the work that went into the design.
New rules for boxed games, especially Imperial Knights: Renegade
Paint splatter
'Eavy Metal Master Class
Terrain profile - though I would have liked more detail in how they put it together

Didn't enjoy as much
4 Warlords - the new additions were not that inspiring and that is what I am looking for from the seris is inspiration. However I am looking forward to the ladder campaign that they said would start next issue
Army of the month - I like Ben Johnson, but back to back issues featuring him was odd editorial choice. It didn't help that the army was also GW's current AoS poster children. I think also my reaction to the article is colored little bit by the fact that had the issue not arrived late, I would have read this profile before I watched any of the Blood and Glory coverage which because he was on the top table and won the GT this army (or the part he brought) was covered there as well. Come to think of it, he has been featured on both GW tourney webcasts.

So far a 6 out of 10 (which would have been an 8 if it had arrived on time)
