I think it's just a trick of the camera angle, Solar - I actually only have the infantry here, nerdfest will be sending me the Knight when he finishes the second wave. But the only base he had to work with was the one FW sent so I assume it's the regular one

Also, I'd love to do a team 30K game one evening with Gits, whalemusic, myself... and someone else who plays 30K and actually knows what they're doing (so that WM and I can be on opposite teams - since we don't )

Whale and I are in the Titannicus battles 6pm to midnight on Thursday and the Bring the hobby back doubles 10am to 10pm on Friday. My Saturday and Sunday are open.

At the moment I'm always open, though if Damo thinks my titan will be done by Adepticon, I'll try and sign up for the tatanicus battle too.

I'd be interested in seeing what armies everyone is planning on bringing. Please include estimated point value.

At the moment, the Gitsplitta's are bringing:

40k
AdMech (up to 2500 pts. including knights)
Necrons (dunno... 2k at least)
Knights (4)


30k
Emperors Children (it'll be a miracle if I hit 1500 pts, but I'll try and get as much done as I can)

I'm thinking about maybe bringing the Halloween chaos army along, just because most of us seem to play goodies and it would give us another baddie for pick-up games. It's also very compact so travels well. Thoughts?

Lastly, I've been very concerned about the status of the official "open gaming" tables at Adepticon... which just suck. Bare tables, crap terrain, etc. The best solution of course is commandeering empty spaces in one of the main rooms... but that might not always be possible and the main rooms close as soon as there isn't an event in them. So I'm thinking about bringing a very simple portable table... basically two 2x3' sections of 1/4" plywood hinged together that can be set on a bed with a game mat thrown over it. That way we always have a nice table available, at least in the main hotel.

The trick is, we'll need some nice terrain that's durable enough to travel. Obviously, all the fancy laser-cut stuff I added to my collection won't do. I have a nice river and ponds that fit the bill, but that's more for looks. I'll comb through my collection and see what else I can come up with. If anyone whose driving could contribute a couple of pieces... I think we'd have a very nice set-up that anyone in the group could take advantage of.

Please post here.... just armies, rough points & any ideas if you have things you can contribute to the terrain.

Perhaps some ice terrain, ruins, and river?

That would help out tremendously. I do have a winter matt at a bunch of snow covered evergreen trees.

I havent really figured points yet on anything. I'm trying to bring stuff that can swing in 30k and 40k

Not sure if I will have room for terrain, but I have tons of it. If anyone wants something specific let me know, I'm sure I can get a piece or two.

I gave the wrong impression... not really looking for specific army values... just kind of an estimate of how much you'll bring, in case someone's interested in a higher point fight.

I think anything that would go on a winter table (be it ruins or walls or whatever) would be quite helpful.

In that case lets say ~1500 points without a giant robot or primarch involved. If someone wants higher points, then robots. Warlord is around 3k by himself, so there's that too.

I'll have 2000 points of 30k Mechanicum, including my Knight . Would love to play 1500 or a 1000-each team game, though.

I also might be able to bring some playing surfaces, but don't have terrain to speak of yet.

I have no problem bringing terrain if that would help everybody out. I have enough winter themed items and ruins to cover several tables without issue.

As for armies, I am a bit behind on the times. I can bring some Ice Angels, of course, but they would be a very fluffy force indeed. I have no knights so I may ask to borrow one if some one can help an Angel out here. Or I can just provide some lovely fodder for knights to shoot at. I have no 30k specific armies as options but I may be bringing some none GW games for us to play.

I think between Gits, Solar and myself, you will have a decent selection of knights.

Well, if I bring the board and my winter mat along with say some trees, and Ice brings his other winter terrain... I think the table should be all set.

Where is everyone staying, and what nights? I'll be across the street, Wednesday night-Monday morning. I am driving in, so no issues with transport.

SL, Thing 1 and I are at the convention center. I figured we could set up the "emergency table" on a bed in our room (or someone else's room in the convention center... it can move around).

I have the foldable table that I made for us 2 years ago. it's 4x8 feet hinged in the center. Thing 1 and I played our Necron vs. Necron battle on it 2 years ago. Don't make something I already have. I can repaint it if necessary.

I'll have 5 Knights to use and with multiple magnetized options for those of a particular taste. I can bring a bunch of terrain as well.

As for armies.. Knights, Lamenters 2500++ points. ???? World Eaters Army, Reaver Titan and ???

Well, I'd rather have a 4x6 standard table so we can play standard games. You could bring the 4x4 though for anyone who wants to do smaller games. Maybe we can cook up some kind of cheap, ZM set-up by then.

No, sorry for the confusion. It's a 4x8. Hinged 4x4 sections.

Does a 4x4 fit inside your car (rather than on top)?

No worries...truck works great for all my hobby needs and makes me extremely manly. With Git and thing1 riding with me we still had a lot of room last year. With the titans and possibly a bunch of terrain I could potentially bring/rent a small enclosed trailer if needed.

The 4x8 table would allow us to play a bigger game if so inclined.

And yeah, the bigger board might even be useful for the Knight battle
