Can they use their powerfists to reload?

Do little servitors follow them around and once they are out they reload for them?

Some machine on their armor?

They can reload with their powerfists, there was also a novel involving a space hulk I think that showed them helping each other get extra mags out of their backpacks.

Powerfists aren't constantly on so they're able to reload with them.

They do not. Large portion of Space Marines uses so called Munitions Transciever Link, technology from DAoT, which allows to teleport individual pieces of ammunition directly into the chamber. Thing which apears to be a magazine is in fact a reciver.

That's why Marines carry little to none of spare "magazines" and never run out of ammo. And if you see any to change "magazine", it's because the revious has a battery running low.

Realistically, they can't. Which is precisely why in the new Deathwing game the weapon drops out of view for a moment, then comes back up fully reloaded.

Best not to think about it.

Yeah if that were true every now and then a daemon would latch onto a bullet and materialise inside your bolter.

Not fun.

No need. Every Terminator is a 10-Dan Black belt Uzi-Jitsu master. They only run out of ammo when it's required to further the plot....

I was thinking too they may teleport ammo into the battlefield. Think of it as a machine that teleports magazines and drums near the terminators with the magazines or drums facing up so the terminator just has to eject his empty magazine and slam his weapon downward onto the magazine. Then hit the bolt release on his armor or something, then boom, reloaded.

Given that the Imperium can't teleport whole people with much accuracy (terminators scatter without a beacon), I dount they'd have the capability to teleport magazines of ammo with the pinpoint accuracy they'd need to actually work like that.

Plus, with all the warp daemon shenanigans seems unnecessarily complicated and risky.

I'd assume that they'd simply turn off the power fist for a moment, allowing them to handle the magazines without crushing/smashing them.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

It takes a decade of intense training to qualify to wear Terminator armor and be awarded the coveted Crux Terminatus.

At least 18 months of training are spent on reloading Storm Bolters.

There is an optional 9 month course on taking Selfies and posting the picts on Imperiumgram.

Chaos Terminators often use belt mags. This this would suggest a primitive open gate receiver, and a standard free sliding sliding bolt to chamber the round. No room in there for teleporty crap. I don't think I've seen extra equipment pouches for terminators.

If it does not bleed, I have no use for it. Death to the False One, freedom to the Galaxy.

So, would this open up the 'Zapp Brannigan Maneuver' for dealing with enemy Terminators?

The fact that most models do not carry any spares should be enough.
And both DoW games presented this properly. Games like Space Marine and Ethernal Crusade have this mechanic removed for more casual gameplay.

Power fists aren't always on. I believe power fists are connected to interface directly with the marines armour, so he can turn it on or off with a thought. Since the fists is huge, you'd probably wanna grab the top of the storm bolter with it and relaod using your other hand. That's always how I imagined they do it.

Storm bolter clips are huge enough that it doesn't seem too far-fetched to just use the power fist to me.

Eh, depends on what kind of pouch they're pulling it out of tho. If it's an open topped pouch, with part of the mag sticking out then maybe they could use their fist. If it's a closed pouch forget it, just use your smaller hand.

Pretty sure that rather than pouches they magnetically clamp spare mags to their armour.
