For reasons that are mine and to prepare for an anime-ish game (Not Gate!), I require the need for 1/144 scale JGSDF vehicles. In particularly APCs, IFVs, and most particular, a Type-82 Command and Communications vehicle. Ebay and foreign shops have been a bust. Does any one have or know anyone that have such things?

At 1/144 does it make that great a difference? Could you just get any modern/near future stuff and add Japanese markings?

They have to be an equivalent. I be happy if I can find a 6 wheeled modern armored car or something like it since the vehicle I am most interested in has nothing but a .50 cal and a pintle 7.62.

I tried to search some Japanese sites, it seems there are only Gashapon vehicles out

The Hobby Lobby near me used to carry a WW2 1/144 box with three transports, a jeep, and a tank.

I'd go on the hunt for 10mm scale modern/sci fi armor. I feel like there should be stuff out there.

There is a bit on Hobby Link Japan but it looks like not a popular genre.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

I don't know specifically, but I think there are at least two good leads you could check.

1) Reaper's CAV miniature line. Several of 1/144'ish APC's in that line and I think at least some of them are wheeled.

2) Also, there are some great options in the old Mechwarrior Clix CMG line. A bit harder to find these days, but ask around, you may already know some with a bin of them in their basement.

Is that the CAV scale? CAV have sets of two tanks or two APCs for $5 or $6 before discount, cheaper than even most 1/144 kits.

I think CAV is 1/144. If the OP is looking to play a game based on Gate! though, CAV isn't really going to work. In Gate!, the JSDF is sent through a portal into a medieval fantasy world. In order to wright off equipment losses, the government issued them with old surplus hardware. So, to play it on the tabletop properly, he'll need hardware from the '70s and '80s.

Best bet would be to check out Doyusha. I know they've made some 1/144 SDF stuff. Takara also produces some pre-colored kits and I think they make JASDF and JGSDF vehicles in 1/144. The series you need to look for are World Tank Museum, World Wings Museum, and Wings of the World.

I hadn't bothered to look up the -82 and didn't realize it was an actual modern vehicle. Doing a bit of digging...

Minifigs miniatures has the french VAB 6x6
ahttp://www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk/Catalogue.aspx?ScaleID=1&CategoryID=3&SubCategoryID=190

And the Germand Fuchs
http://www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk/Catalogue.aspx?ScaleID=1&CategoryID=3&SubCategoryID=19

the VAB looks pretty crude but the Fuchs is pretty nice. Niether has the slighty raised rear section of an -82, but they're both 6 wheeled, with a similar hull shape and at 10mm it should't be too big a deal. Might be worth looking through the rest of the Minifigs 10mm Modern catalog.

An additional brand worth looking at is Pendraken Miniaures.

Essentially, Japan is still imperial and they along the UN and US military forces try to stop monstrous clients from invading or delaying them from reaching Kyoto in 1998.
Okay, I admit. Muv-Luv Alternative. I will post a link to the blog as soon as I get it up. In a week or two.
I will have to proxy the Type-82 vehicle. I tried at least. I may have to go with what I already have. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2u8CSGkgDV8/VqRREkw1ZiI/AAAAAAAAADI/XvE22xV67K0/s320/IMAG0333.jpg
A bit of a far cry from these though but it will have to do. https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints-depot/tanks/tanks-g-j/jgsdf-type-82-command-and-communications-vehicle.png

Interesting concept for a game.

As for the vehicles I think the Fuchs is alot closer to the 82 than the turreted vehicle you already have. The front especially is quite close. Might even be worth scratchbuiling a raised rear if you want to get detail-y.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Ah, you're doing Muv-Luv. Still, I would recommend the World Tank Museum and World Wings Museum lines they cover most vehicles from WWII to modern stuff. World Wings may actually be a smaller scale though, which could present a problem if you're a stickler for scale.

I already have TSFs (Tactical Surface Fighter) from HLJ on the way. Gotten 2 last month and 5 more coming in in a few days.
I totally forgotten that Miniature Figurines, a company that I gotten infantry for my gundam game in the past, makes these.
Yes, the Fuchs and a French VAB 6x6 are perfect for my needs!
Plus I am gonna put another order for US infantry in two days anyway from http://www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk so might as well get one of those to round out the company command vehicle as well as a M557 for the US company as well.
