Looking at the pictures of the recently revealed pippin and gandalf models, I am pretty convinced this is not lotr or in fact anything specialist games. The painting styles are quite different. The highlight lines on the rumour image are extremely smooth, precisely painted in the eavy metal style. The specialist games and lotr stuff is not so smooth, as can be seen by the highlighting on gandalf and pippin's belts.
I still think it is the rogue trader from Blackstone fortress.

Yeah, new FW LotR model was just revealed, it has a belt that looks nowhere near like the 'heroic scale' example above does:

Goblin specialist weapons from blood bowl definitely got teased like this. Don't recall others top of my head but then again haven't followed these fully so it's bit of on-off checking.

Not really. The mouth in that pic is much shorter (left side to top of picture, rather than long and crocodilian) and lacks the little teeth

and the teeth are painted differently. The RE mouth probably is a squig, but one, wie didn't see yet

Pretty sure they've never done a rumour engine for FW stuff too

I don't think that is a standalone piece, but armour around something else, like a tail. If you zoom in, the outer edge looks a lot fuzzier than the inner edge, which I think has had something (like a tail) cropped from the image.
