Models generally can't be invalidated. Wargear might come and go, squad or army composition may change...and the occasional special character is off'ed, but even if they re-do the entire Imperial Guard (and I hope they do) it means absolutely nothing. You still have Imperial Guard models. I can see it being a pain if you were in the middle of constructing a force, but there is a shed-load of Cadian plastic out there in shops, on eBay etc.

Also a good point. Repurposing is a useful concept.

Of the renowned Cadian Astra Militarum regiments, the Guard’s famed ‘Shock Troops’, it is lamentable that several regiments were lost in the strategic retrograde-advance from Cadia. However, with around 90% of Cadia’s forces off-world on tours around the galaxy at any given time, and the estimated 14% increase in vengeance-induced effectiveness** of regiments whose home world has fallen to enemy forces in battle, we are pleased to report a net-gain to the Imperium’s fighting strength!

Through the Eye of Terror and turn left.

Regarding my previous guess, I would like to add plastic Sisters of Battle to the mix.

I know it isn't decked out in fleur-de-lis but something about the design of the pistol and the hammer suggests it could be the side arm of a Sister Superior or someone equally boss like.

Or failing that maybe the side arm of a Sister of Silence...

A sentient race of bolters. This one is a character, it's background story is that it's a pacifist (hence the holster) but will ultimately fight when it has to.
We later discover it had once shot a child, mistaking it for another bolter in the dark.
It also falls in love.

As much as I want it to be cypher, all the artwork I've seen has him use a bolt pistol with a clip, including the current model. I'm pretty sure it's 30/40k, but I can't place it. It's not quite spikey enough to be chaos, so my first thought was inquisition. Especially the belt buckle style fits inquisition, but even that doesn't quite hit me as correct. The pointed part of the hoslter is really weird. It seems a little on the thin side, so that would suggest a human equivalent model. I'm not entirely convinced it's not necromunda related. Or some other human subfaction in 40k. It also doesn't seem ornate enough to be considered a master crafted pistol (except fro the thinness and fancy holster maybe).

Hm. Ejector on the left, gun would be strapped on left leg. Handle reminds me of DE handle, but tip reminds me of old school marine launcher. There's also a adeptus mechanicus skitarii look to it. I am gonna have to say it's squats. There's a steampunkish vibe there. IMHO If it's not that, it's Chekhov's Gun.

The models mounted on swirly bs has got to stop. As insaniak said, when it becomes so much that it overtakes the miniature, then that's not a good thing.

I like 'em. I'll admit I'm having trouble making the first one out but over all I like 'em.

No 2 is best and with a cropping of the headpiece No 3 will be just as good. Assuming its £37 (disc,) like the Triumvirate box I may well buy my first Eldar models in decade or two.

The third one may need to get rid of that spike. Dunno, I'm not liking it, it feels that contrasts too much with the rest of the model.
