Had a look at GWs site and it seems everyone has access to a librarian.

So my guess is it's another pointless special character or perhaps a librarian kit similar to the captain kit which would also be pointless...

Yeah I'm thinking Loyalist too.

We've had an Imperial Triumvirate, but no Space Marines.

I seriously doubt that Warhammer: Sigmarines in Space would neglect their most populous faction

Does that mean there might be 4 Fall of Cadia books? Next one SM, final one CSM.

Or even 5, with the 'nids/Necrons rocking up just as Abaddon approaches Terra...

I would guess 4 books with a Triumvirate box for each, then you put the boxes together you get the full clock picture on the back.

Except, y'know, if you happen to like the character or model and appreciate multiple choices when picking models for your army.

Apart from the cape this bit is exactly identical to the psychic hood on one of the plastic Grey Knight Terminators, even down to the configuration of those cord thingies.

You pretty much point out the problem, you either like the special character or you don't. Our club doesn't play with SC because they sort of ruin the game because they are usually pretty unbalanced.

So if you had the choice between a new kit for an army or 2 special characters for that army. A new kit is something everyone can use, special characters not so much.
Basically what I'm saying is that I don't like GW wasting time making SC when they could use the same time to make kits for armies instead.

The grey knights do not currently have a plastic hq (the only marine faction which does not) or a start collecting box. I could see them featuring in another death masque style box set.

If daemon primarchs are running around not too surprising that the Gk might get involved.

Had a look in the GK codex and this is the pic in the Librarian entry. I don't recognize the model, and I didn't find it on GWs site with a quick glance. Do you make it from the GK terminator box?

The rumour pic doesn't seem to be terminator armour though, there is a SM Librarian already that's not in Terminator Armour. So I'm guessing this is a special character of some sort.

How many End Times books were there? 5 right? And one of them, from what I recall, didn't actually have a miniature release (the one that dealt with the Aelf™ storyline). I doubt we'll get a repeat of a mini-less book, so 4 seems like a good number.

This is probably part of the Space Marine box.

Question is, will they neglect other factions that don't really have much of a shoe in this fight (or rather, don't fit a Triumvirate as well).

Tau, Tyranids, Necrons.

Or will they do a weird 'oh yeah, these guys were here too' book...

Technically, the Grey Knights have the plastic Librarian in Terminator Armor and the plastic Power Armor Librarian.

Those two models were done that way to allow them to be maximum faction spreadage.

Well they can reboot the Tau and say that due to the 13th Black Crusade Tau spread throughout the galaxy and became something more than a flashy afterthought, thereby giving them a reason to be involved more often rather than GW always having to find reasons to duck over to the tiny little spec of the galaxy where the Blueberries hang out.

And they can use that opportunity to rebrand them as the T'au™ Aempire™.

I can see there being a parallel story going on with the Nid invasion that was started with Shield of Baal, forcing the Imperium to fight at two fronts.

This is probably part of the Space Marine box.

End Times: Khaine didn't get models, which was kinda/sorta making sense since it basically just was new army lists for combined Elf armies. Still bugged the hell out of me that they didn't update Tyrion, Teclis, or Malekith...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut we know why now.

We don't know where Celestine's Crusade has ended up after taking a jaunt through the Webway. With the Eldar being a part of this, every faction can and will probably show up.

I think it's rather telling that the way Mont'ka ended was with Farsight headed back to his Enclaves and having to deal with a Tyranid threat on par with the one that the Imperium fought at Ultramar.

Wouldn't that be incredible.

He could come in a box with Meh'lindi, Azul Petrov, Lexandro d'Arquebus and Grimm the Squat Tech-Priest.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for too. Big campaign involving Tau, 'nids, Orks, Necrons and probably Ultramarines too because it wouldn't be a GW release without at least one SM faction.

Would give me a shoe-in hoping for exodites too

I would be okay with this, but it is an Indomitus Pattern back, not a Cataphractii Pattern back. It certainly could just be a new Terminator Librarian, but where is the fun in that?

There is a robe or cape extending off the right shoulder, which could correspond to Draigo or Stern's capes.

It's not a complete model. All we got was a tiny bit of it.

What sets Cataphractii and Indomitus apart? The widened back and the shoulderplates. If you built the Cataphractii Captain from GW, there's definitely a way that it could be done in such a way.

I'm still going for Ezekiel in TDA though. Between the gunslinger pistol and the hintings in FoC about a lone black-armored Astartes getting a relic from inside of an Inquisitorial fortress' most secure vault...
I'm thinking the third book might have Cypher, Ezekiel, Belial, and Azrael with the latter all in TDA.

... well if the plastic daemon primarchs are coming then presumably there's a Mortarion model at some point.

.. we saw that DG paint that then disappeared a bit sharpish.

.. Blight Kings are on the next WQ boxset...

.. so if Mortarion was coming then the guy who smacked him down before could make sense.
