Sisters of Battle can be sold as Allies to (loyalist) Space Marine players.
Chaos Space Marines can't be.
So I'm willing to bet they'll get a solo 'dex.

Didn't save Belegar. I don't think the Glotkin appeared in AoS lore either.
I reckon Celestine is doomed. She's written as organising the initial defence of Cadia, right? Which means she has to die horribly at the end of the first book so the Space Marines can take over command and use her demise as resolve to smash le heretics 4 de Emprah. Creed is probably going to get killed off-screen too.
Most of the Wood Elf characters were killed off in less than 12 months I think.
Also yep in the fluff the glotkins were killed off and bottled up by nurgle for failing him.

Is Thanqual in AoS ?
Regardless Celestine has died at least twice to my recollection. If Abbadon does snuff out her light. I don't see the kit going anywhere at least not for a few years.
She can always be repackaged as a generic living saint.
Can't you still get the glotkin models?
I expect when nurgle gets chaos warrior type book in AoS they will return or something.

Sigh...I just literally said the Glottkin were not killed off, they were the major bad guys during the Sylvaneth plotline. And it is hardly an apt comparison to compare characters that are now in a different setting. 40K is still the same setting. And the models are all still available, just with name changes.

Are they really jumping some massive shark these days, rules that bad, or sales that down?
Well, at least releasing them got me here. What's happening in 40k land? Is this a full SOB release or just three models and "hope"?
Something to keep in mind amist all the happiness greeting these great models is we're seeing yet more amping up of power levels. St Celestine was always a neat character and a useful one, but from what (little) we have seen she's now blowing away King Kong-sized demons with a nasty look. So we're adding Supergirl to a game already overwhelmed by mecha and kaiju.
No one ever doubted GW's ability to make amazing models. And after the last few years no one should doubt GW's willingness to broaden and deepen their universe.
But will Celestine, Cyber Potato Bug and Autumn on Cadia do anything to arrest the rules bloat and power creep in the game?
No, clearly not.
You only have two decent options - you bring the "forgotton" dexes up to the level of the Power dexes or you rbign down the Power Dexes down to tehir level. There is no sign that GW is going to reduce the OP Eldar, MArines and co and so they need to brign the others up,
Otherwise it just seems like kids playing king of the castle and that only certian armies are allowed to be powerful.
The imagery of St C kicking ass is just so awesome but its a fluff picture - will it translate into stats that mean she can kill Grt Daemons with her Holy light - probably not.- However she might have a one shot D weapon long the lines of a orbital strike with enhanced power against Daemons.

If Black Templars are in the campaign book, I wonder if there will be another book that collects the Space Marine formations and puts them in one place. Or, perhaps they will release a book for them like Angel's Blade that is focused exclusively on the Black Templars. Such a book could serve as a sort of Black Templars codex the way Wrath of Magnus did to Thousand Sons.
I wouldn't mind there being a Sons of Dorn book that featured Black Templars and Crimson Fists.

Celestine model could still be on sale. Number of ways that makes sense. It's not like GW has been strict before on "model on sale=exists in current fluff".

What do you think is happening here?
This is the death of 40k, birth of Age of Emparah in all but name. Named characters are going to die in droves to be replaced with new Super sized kits. Fluff is going to be butchered, unlikely alliances formed (keyword:Good,Chaos etc) so on and so forth.
The End Times made GW so much money for a relatively minimal outlay that it was inevitable that 40k would get it's version. The fact it does not have a catchy name like the End Times is to avoid nerd rage and ensure sales are maintained.

C'mon man...
How about this, Celestine is killed in the Fall of Cadia and is reborn by the Emperor with a even bigger kit ala Celestant Prime size for the final defense on Terra.
So you would have a normal Celestine kit that can also be used as something as something else and later another Living Saint kit that is a truly big LoW.

Now that's a far fetched idea. She got her first new kit in a decade. She ain't getting an upgrade within a year.
Look, I'm as happy about the superb new Sisters models as any of you poor SoB victims, but if anyone thinks 40k End Times will be about anything but Primarchs, they really haven't been paying attention.

Different circumstances entirely. The Tycho model existed long before his death during the Third War for Armageddon. GW hasn't released a character model that dies in the campaign it was released for in 40K. Not even Grukk Face-Rippa is dead.

GW used to just trash all of the stock in the stores that they were closing instead of having a sale that would devalue their brand. I wouldn't put anything past them, business practice-wise.

I can't tell if I'm excited or aggravated by this. On the one hand, plastc Sisters is cool, the models look good, and the SoB fans will finally shut up because they're not being squatted. On the other hand, there will probably still be something in the release for people to complain about.

That's the case with most releases. See the 5th ed necron release for reference (though to be fair, there were some questionable design decisions)
As for the plastic sisters, I think the old seraphim looked better. The newer ones look slightly bulkier, and I'm not sure I like that. Its not a terrible design, its just they look too much like those special blood angel assault marines to me.
Their faces do seem a bit better though.

WFB was doing poorly and 40k is doing better than fine with the recent new releases, it would be silly to ruin the cash cow, some of the fluff will advance but I doubt they will change things about as dramatically as they did with fantasy.

I like the sisters, barring high-heels (really? I'm sure loads of female soldiers wear high heels to battle...no, they don't.) but the Magos is just a bit too busy which I guess is true for the whole Mechanicum line (weee cogs, spikes, and extra mechanical arms for everybody!).

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

What high heels do you see exactly? The only heels there are, are on the inquisitor (and inquisitors are hardly known for their fashion sense) and off canoness Viridian (which was based off the art). Neither Celestine or her bodyguard are wearing them.

I was actually pretty glad not to see tactical heels. Booby armor still bugs me a bit though, but aren't as bad as they used to be, at least on these models.

That pic with combined forces of Black Templars, Magos, Dark Eldar looks to me like retreat. No one seems happy and they are looking like exhausted force that is leaving sinking ship. Rear portion of them are looking over their shoulders to see where their pursuers are.
Dark Eldar saving them for their own agenda? Did Eldars before fall wore armour like Dark Eldar or slimmer Eldar design?

You see, that looks the opposite too me. If it's a retreat, where are the explosions of them being chased? Why is no single marine facing back, firing at their pursuers? Why does it look so organised for a retreat? And since when do Black Templars ever retreat? Isn't their whole thing, win or die trying?
