Given that most of the Eldar range is pretty damned old it really needs updated plastics.
Most? No, thats definitely not true. The Vyper and the Falcon (which also sees use in other kits) are the two oldest plastic kits they have, along with Warp spiders from 2nd ed. All the other plastics are fine Only thing id be tempted to 'update' other than those would be adding a storm squad sprue to guardians.
Obviously it would be nice to have lots of new plastic Aspects as well, but the main plastic line is pretty solid

I don't see what the fuss is about with Eldar. The stuff I see people mention as broken and terrible is already in plastic (Wraithknights and Jetbikes). If *gasp* they produced new plastics, you might see non-Jetbike armies simply because people want to field some new cool models.
The Eldar have a lot of "fringe" new models. The whole Harlequins bit, while indirect, was a pretty big release. New plastic Eldrad etc. There are some languishing stuff.
I'd argue the Falcon is fine, and the Vyper is okay (never a great sculpt to start with, but reasonable). The new Warwalker is heinous but new enough, the Wraithlord is a pretty cool kit. Jetbikes and Fireprisms are taken care of, and guardians, while old and boring are at least plastic. The current Wraithguard are excellent (a pain to assemble, but great when completed).
The elephants in the room would be the Avatar (ancient) and all the Aspect warriors which are either ancient or finecast and expensive. Unless you scrounge eBay why would anyone accept paying $40+ for a handful of finecast figures? That's pretty awful.
I would find it odd to see Exodites before genuine Aspect warriors, but after the Harlequins I imagine anything is possible.
PS: Selfishly I'd love to see Exodites if they are a good kit, since I've got darn near everything else finished in my army and was in the process of hunting down Cold Ones to make my own ones.

Chaos just got cult terminators and troops, 3 boxes of characters, Sisters are getting shoehorned into the Triumrative but hey at least it's something.

While I agree with this I would love to see a traitor legions-esque famous craftworlds book that adds fluffy rules and makes the un seen units useable, ulthwei could see the return of more guardian based eldar lists (possibly a new guardian/storm guardian combo box and personally I would love to see rangers get a plastic kit and be made a bit more viable again through alaitoc, I think I've said it before but allowing them to battle focus and use their long rifles as well as maybe AP2 on a 5+ instead of 6 for their snipers as they used to be. I'd build a ranger army in no time.

Now that fire warriors no longer have seam lines you need to ruin their leg armour to get rid of and crisis suits actually fit together, yeah I'd agree Eldar are probably the next existing plastic line most in need of an update...
But could you really feel glad for them while Sisters remain languishing in metal?
Yeah, look, nobody's saying Sisters shouldn't get plastics, but the Craftworld Eldar range is still rocking several of the oldest minis in the game, full-stop. That's right, the Avatar of Khaine and Phoenix Lords are still available in fabulous 1993-vintage metal cast.
And on top of that, we're not even talking about the Craftworld Eldar, we're talking about Exodites, who are not only entirely different but have also been a fairly important faction in the fluff longer than the Sisters have been a thing and yet have never had a full release dedicated to them or even a proper set of official models outside of some really, really old Epic-scale knight models. If anyone really, really needs some attention, it's them.

Not that I've seen - thank jeebus, as that whole nonsense really needs to die off, not that I actually expect it to given modern GW's writing. The Mechanicus were cool when their dogma and irrationality was the result of the combination of trying circumstances and innate human flaws, and it was bad enough when the original Necron material merely hinted at their loss of agency, taking it away completely with that Just As Planned/Emprah Trollface rubbish in Mechanicum was just cringe-inducing.
As for that Reddit rumour, I really hope it's wrong. I really hope GW aren't so dim that they would release a special edition model based on an iconic bit of Sisters(hell, 40K) art, followed by a plastic Living Saint with plastic kinda-Seraphim(both with huge hype and greatly underestimated demand)...and then completely ignore Sisters for at least five months. Because at that stage, you have to assume that someone with power at GWHQ actively hates SoB and wants to see them fail as a product.

That said I can understand why Eldar players might feel salty that they have nothing but old models in Finecast. I can understand, but at the same time I feel like shouting about how they at least got an attempt to keep them modern by updating the material the models are cast in instead of a slow burn through metal as models slowly vanish out of the range to never be seen again.
I'm not going to actually shout mind you, but as someone who plays Sisters it's hard to not get your flamer ready when players cry about other armies.

I'm not too bothered that Sisters models are still metal, because I actually like the material, what annoys me is the crazy price. If they cost the same as metal guardsmen I'd start an army tomorrow. But as it is, there's no way I would consider buying any Sisters models apart from the Veridyan one or the Celestine one.

Wouldn't the lack of attention already reveal the product failed? Neglect could mean GW doesn't believe the market is there. The sisters have had three physical codexs and one digital one, so far. But few models since 3rd edition. The same amount of codexes as the Space Wolves. That's a pretty good amount of support ruleswise.

I can't explain or justify why Sisters are so expensive. Especially if GW is trying to clear out an old range of models to give space for plastics (or squat them or whatever other claim you want to make). All I know is that by playing/collecting them I've somehow become numb to the high costs of models and kits. When it costs over $100USD to build your basic squad and you're not playing a horde army or using FW models it's kind of hard to not go numb I think.
That said the "no sooner than 5 months" timeline for Sisters is interesting to me. Every rumor before now has been "at least X months away" but never a "no sooner than X". It feels like there is a legitimate bit of planning going on to fit them into the release cycle but they haven't been cemented in just yet while the next 5 months have been.
So now that my excitement has toned down just a tad I'm really curious on if Sisters are seeing actual rules/formations/ FOC options in the FoC book, or if all we see is some fluff and Celestine. Granted that's more than Shield of Baal gave the army (which was just fluff and art) but honestly I'd like to see some more options for my army than the "lose objective secured and take an elite to get a one use Chapter Tactic" they gave us. Lack of attention was a problem from the beginning. I don't think GW thinks Sisters "failed" as much as perceive a limited niche market for them and don't expect much of the army in terms of sales, hence the lack of focus.
Not that they've done much to properly test to see how true that assumption is mind you, but I feel it's a more accurate view than claiming "someone wants to kill this army". If someone could clamp down on Sisters releases wanted to kill the army it'd be dead already. We don't need conspiracies to claim that someone is "trying" to kill the army when they could have pulled the plug effortlessly at any time up until now.

That's been the quintessential argument for and against sisters for years now. That GW is somehow is disincentivized from making plastic sisters models due to lack of demand for the metal ones. But that explanation never really accounts for stuff like GW claiming they don't do market research (which I think is no longer true...) or Cannoness Veridyan selling out in minutes in all markets. It is very easy to argue that GW doesn't believe the market exists for sororitas, but much harder to argue that that belief is true.
For what it's worth, the decision to package these three units together as one box was definitely made well before the Cannoness went on preorder. I don't think GW today would have necessarily made the same choice after moving so many sororitas character models so quickly.

To tell you the truth though, I don't know how GW are going to attack the Loyalist Primarchs model wise. Roboute already has a FW model, and placing that next to Magnus, the loyalists are going to be pretty underwhelming size-wise, surely?
And how much can you already improve on Rowboat's model? Add a neck scar?
Apparently my man was saying that Roboute wakes up quite pissy when he sees the mass religion bs the Imperium has become!
RE: "RIP Sisters":
[–]Sanguinius[S] 2 points 12 hours ago
If it makes you feel any better, he hasn't been wrong on anything he's told me yet.
He didn't say there wouldn't be plastic Sisters, it's just that with the release schedule, we won't be seeing any before May....or more correctly, if they exist, they don't appear on the release schedule.
From what I am led to believe, the focus of this Fall of Cadia release is on the 'Triumvirate of the Imperium'; and doesn't necessarily mean a Primarch is going to show for this release window.

I've been hearing whispers of another Triumrative featuring possibly eldrad, Some Prince?? And some spiky guy but this could just be gak. Now I'm not sure if it's just Chinese whispers from the reddit thing.
But I'd be very happy if Exodites came. Probably more than Sisters as at this point I think it's like if the Giants win the Super bowl rather flat and not as exciting due to all the build up, or a biplane / triplane for GSC.

Ah no Sorry but thats totally wrong - Sisters are in the original Rogue Trader - Exodites come in later when they actually started writting Eldar background - when the Sisters were in the game - Eldar are listed in the rules adn models as Space Elves.
That being said a decent Exodite range would be great and we know they can do it - see the brilliant Genestealer Cult models. Just do more Sisters at the same time.

Outside of Celestine and her Geminii bodyguards, there are no plans in the next 5 months for any SoB boxes/kits.

Called it! I like being right about things.
EDIT: What the hell is wrong with that Avatar? It looks bizarre.
What looks bizarre about it?

The face for a start. 50% forehead, 50% "angry anthropomorphised pidgeon". The rest of it looks like a spindly ballerino. Not sure I like the white-ass loin-tablecloth either.

I don't think you can say called it when your proof is just a rumor.

I guess we'll see, won't we? If there's a full range of Sisters kits released alongside Fall of Cadia I'll admit I was wrong.
If instead we get a Celestine re-issue alongside a load of Fall of Cadia campaign crap then I get to be obnoxious. Rumour or no, I know which one I'd bet money on.

Fall of Cadia looks to be two releases like before so I wouldn't jump any guns I either direction until the second half comes out.
That daod I am not getting my hopes up until I see pictures showing that they're coming.

^^Yeah, week 1 (well, Jan 7th) certainly is not the entirety of this line in 2017.

Well that's true too. I was thinking more like we'd know by the time the second book rolls out in like Feb or so but either way this is definitely a point too early to predict a release schedule from the outside looking in. Even Sanguinuis commented on Reddit that his information is only to the extent of whatever his source knows and Sisters could still be snuck in somewhere without being a major release. Say as a supplement release to Fall of Cadia for example.
Actually all things considered if Sisters aren't getting an individual spotlight release pushing them out in support of the campaign is the best timing and method. Interest will inevitably be peaked at that point with the new Celestine people will be forced to pick up with their Inquisitor or Arch Magos (and vice versa for those of us who want her) and with fluff (and hopefully rules, even if it just repeats C:IA with a Celestine option) people will have both bait and hooks to draw them into the army.
Mind you this is just speculation on how they could fit in a Sisters update rather than a "this is what they will do" thing so it's questionable of this will be the method used or if we'll be left waiting until after 8th drops.
