New Armored Assault sets sure look like a great deal - 65 CDN for most of them, and Chapter-specific sets come with a Rhino, 10-man Tac squad, and a Chapter upgrade pack. Very impressed.

The BA one comes with the BA Tactical Squad and the SW comes with ten Grey Hunters. The DA one is a great deal since you get the Chapter Upgrade sprue for free, though. The regular SM in a Pod only comes with a plain Tactical Squad and no upgrade.

Depending on how far out of time she is, it could be upsetting that people are doing any worshipping.
I wonder if she has prior history with Celestine, or she just abhors the thought of living saints?

It would be interesting if she's one of the founding members of the Inquisition picked by Malcador, back when there was no such thing as overt worship or saints.

Eh...a condemnor boltgun and witch-hunter hat don't scream Heresy era to me. If she is from an earlier period, I would have thought it would be just after the Age of Apostasy, so she's an early member (founder?) of the Ordo Hereticus. Her distrust of Celestine might therefore be because she isn't aware that Vandire's bodyguards became the Ecclesiarchy's militant arm in the following centuries. After all, we don't really know what atrocities the Daughters/Brides of the Emperor comitted on behalf of their master - there could be some bad blood...

Not a very good deal for the IG one. Chimeras are meh at best and the troops aren't that expensive already.

$29 for a Guard squad, $37.25 for a Chimera.
Chimeras might be "meh at best"...but if you're wanting to build, say, the Emperor's Blade formation from Mont'ka or a MechVets force this isn't a bad way to do so. You'd just have to source Special Weapons to load them up with.

If cadia actually falls what makes you think we will still have a cadian line of IG?
I don't think cadia troops are disappearing especially with GSC using the cadian sprue to upgrade however I'm concerned about cadian named characters in metal/resin that might die off for "story" and fluff. Im expecting with our luck to say goodbye to Pask and for Astra Militarum to get a new creed model in all his lord of war Lord Solar rank glory.

Well, its possible for high ranking officers to be evacuated shortly before cadia falls. You'd then have a First and Only scenario with Cadians, where you just have the remnants of the cadian army led by Creed and other high ranking officers.
No idea how that would be represented in game though.
Maybe all Cadians will be vets or something, idk.

Still think it's super weird greyfax is a psyker yet she is a witchhunter so that in itself is contradictory. On top of disliking Celestine.. Also in what way did the necron so long ago aquire her? She doesn't even fit in with older time lines as others have mentioned.
Seems like gw muddying their waters for the sake of introducing new characters out of nowhere at the cost of making bad background devices.

It's just like Ordo Xenos inquisitors using Xenos weaponry or Ordo Malleus inquisitors using Daemon weapons. Being a Psyker would help to find other Psykers, and only really puritan inquisitors would be against all Psykers; they hunt rogue ones specifically.

Any Gaurdsmen regiments supplied from the same forgeworld or forgeworlds using the same STC's would look like the cadians.
I do hope they use this as a excuse to give us new plastic infantry that's of the same quality as the plastic storm troopers. The plastic cadian sculpts look kinda junky next to them, and don't even get me started on the Catachans.
Edit: Was looking at the most recent map GW put out for were notable words are located in the galaxy. I wounder if that may give a hint what IG regiments would play a role in Part 2 of Fall of Cadia.
Vostroya and Amergedon are established worlds in the neighbourhood that could be called upon. Their are also some maps that show Forgeworld's Elysia could also be called upon story wise. That's if they want to go with something already established instead of doing something new anyway.

Hypocrisy has always been a feature of the Imperiums attitude to psykers. Its drawn from the real world where holy figures perform miracles but others are accused of witchcraft.
As for Grefax disliking Celestine, she could be from the early post HH or scouring era before the Imperial creed became widespread, maybe she's from one of the periods where the Imperium was divided by religious wars, or maybe she just doesn't subscribe to the Imperial creed in the first place. Inquisitors are privy to a lot of secrets that could cause them to at the very least distrust the church. There's no rule that says members of the Ordo Hereticus have to be religious fanatics, IMO its entirely possible that a good portion of them lean more towards the old secular Imperial truth.

issue being cadia is a regimental tithe and forgeworld facility. They have their own lasgun pattern etc. I'm quite certain it will be written off as produced on another planet however the current plastic line is exclusively cadian produced. Don't forget nearly every planet is at least slightly different equipped and most are drastic such as Elysian, Mordian, krieg, Armageddon, catachan, tallarn, Pretorian, vallhallan, vostroyan, tallarn, etc. if you have the old IG third ed book you can see nearly every regiment is slightly different compared to the current cadian plastic line.

They look different because different Forgeworlds use different STC's.
The Death Korps of Kreig are supplied by the Forgeworld Lucius, and described as using a "lucius pattern lasgun". The implication would be that any other regiments supplied by Forgeworld Lucius would have a similar look to the DKoK.
I understand that any Forgeworlds and/or Manufactorums in and around the Cadian Sector would probably produce weapons based on the same or at least very similar STC's.

I would hope that the IG are getting new kits. We're long overdue. The Command Squad kits are fine but the regular infantry kits need work. Especially the catachans.
I think I said before what I'd like them (both the Cadians and Catachans) to have:
- 10 models in the box.
- Comes with both lasguns and shotguns (with the catachan ones being identical to Iron Hands' gun).
- Also comes with 1 of every kind of special weapon.
- Includes all options for the Sergeant.
- Fully compatible with their respective command squad sets.
- Has a vox caster.
It's not a lot to ask for really.

Some of the arm set from the old infantry and new command squad can't even be swapped around because of the differences in scaling. Personally I would rather see something like the vostroyan, Vhallan or the Steel Legion get a plastic line TBH. The Catachan's army of rambo's seemed abit silly at times in the setting.

You're right. It is like they're a different scale or something.
When I really think about it, the IG have a pretty poor line of plastic models for their core troops.

I'm not going to get my hopes too much that the Cadian kits are about to be updated. We just saw them become the basis for Genestealer cult squads with upgrade sprues.
It would be nice to see a veteran squad released with more options though. Or at least a veteran upgrade sprue.
I find the Cadian plastics to be fairly serviceable, if gw released a range of upgrade sprues akin to the GSC sprue it would make the kit and the imperial guard faction a lot more customisable. Automatically Appended Next Post: Might it be an idea to rename this thread "Fall of Cadia" now?

I think the only thing we might see for Cadians is something like the Fire Warriors, where they get a new mold and tooling but are otherwise the same.
I have my own fingers crossed for a Kasrkin box in plastic and a return to Sergeants with Lasguns and/or Hellguns.

A redone boxed set of plastic Cadians with say, options for shotguns and all special weapons would be neat though, but seeing as these chaps wear flak and not ceramite, the chances of that happening are slim to nil I'd say.

This so hard. The 3 across human statline is a joke in the 40k meta, like hell I'm going to bother giving him melee weapons.....

Yeah, a Re-cut for the Cadians ATM means repacking the Hybrid Squads. It's the reason I assume if their is any chance to some IG love it would have to be int he form of all new plastics.

Strictly speaking, that's not true.
Space Wolves are a great example for this. The Devastator and Assault Marine kits that are included with Skyclaws and Long Fangs are the previous ones, with no Grav or Eviscerator options.
