Deathmasque came with a Deathwatch marine box and a Vanguard veteran kit.

And an upgrade sprue to make the VVS Deathwatch Marines. The total number of Marines is unchanged.

At any rate, hopefully the formation is decent. Could be good for smaller games.

Deathwatch Veterans. Death Masque had Venguard rather than more Deathwatch, hence "more Deathwatch than Death Masque". A little lateral thinking goes a long way.

I wish it was something other than a dreadnought. A drop pod or something would feel more appropriate for strike teams. Tho someone else is probably very happy about this.

Well, a Drop Pod can't fit all eleven Marines. Who knows, maybe the formation will get them some Deep Striking anyway. Agreed that they should have put something other than the Dreadnought in there. It is literally just Death Masque with the Vanguard Veterans swapped out for a Deathwatch Veteran kit. Heck, I would have taken a Razorback instead, but that has the same problem as the Drop Pod.

I wonder if Watch Captain Artemis will just be billed as a nameless Watch Captain, like what they did with Captain Karlaen.

Which kind of makes his inclusion in this Start Collecting kind of bizarre. It actually makes the rumor a little more suspect than it already was.

A pod or razorback can't fit them all but would be great for delivering a backup team to the scout team. That's a good theme for a small Deathwatch force.

So Celestine lets units in a bubble gain the "benefits" from Acts of Faith? She better have a good one then as adding a Canoness to any unit is pointless when a priest does the same job a hundred times better.

So her old AoF was resurrection, I doubt she'd give a rez bubble.

I feel her Rez ability has been rolled into a Special Rule, and her AoF probably ties well with the Natural "Everything in 12" gets AoF" Rule

Be fun if she allowed you to choose a nearby units AOF to apply - I think Retributors (units weapons get rending) and Dominions (units weapons ignore cover) would be quite popular - especially since they now last till the end of the turn.

Yeah, but that doesn't change the price of the models. You have plenty of small formations to choose from. Here, I'll make you a SC Box:

Go to ebay, buy:

-1 Harlequin Troupe sprue (10-15$)
-1 Starweavers Sprue (10-15$)
-1 Voidweaver Sprue (20$)

Now play them in the special "Cegorach's Jest" formation. Congratulations! You've saved more money than all the existing SC boxes AND you have a better formation than most!

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

They probably mean Shield of Faith rather than Act of Faith with regards to Celestine's aura ability. Hard to see how AoF (which is unique to each unit) can be transferred in its current form, but SoF is easy.

I could see a Watch Master before I could see Watch Captain Artemis in a SC. Artemis' rules have yet to be printed anywhere outside of Deathmasque. Once those rules get printed, I can see him coming out as a blister.

Plus that list included "Empyric Storm Cards". When was the last time we saw general release cards? They've been exclusive to the LEs for a bit...so this rumor ticks a lot of the checkmarks for me to say "Hrrrmmh...".

Who? You mean those dudes you can ally with your Space Marines, right?

But yeah to say Cadians are the main line of Imperial Guard models, it's really, really bizarre they turned this into another "Codex: Allies of the Space Marines" book... or maybe not.

I'd have at least expected a plastic Creed/Kell, but it seems more like Games Workshop would kill them off to show how 'ard Abbadon's forces are so the Redshirts can go "AHH SAVE US SPACE MARINES(tm)!" Imperial Guard seem relegated to the role that the Dwarfs played in the Endtimes... sort of there as this really annoying (from the writer's perspective) plot thread they had to deal with, but just decide to dedicate every scene to killing them off so the real protagonists get to look cooler when they don't die to the same threat.

If the Celestine rumor is true (AoF for units in a bubble), it makes Sisters a nasty allied force. Ignore Cover in a bubble, or PE or Rending, Rend, or whatever could be pretty nice when applied across a large area.

Sure but it's also not like anything is really up to the people buying into the propaganda, either. If the planetary elites can get on board the heresy train, they will probably be able to take the people with them. The thing you have to worry about is the planetary elite that won't budge, likely as a matter of religious zealotry (e.g., Sisters).

If they follow the threads we had from the original Black Library material showing Cadia's final days, the war ain't over for Creed & Kell.

So it seems Celestine gives AoF to allies within 12, and Cawl gives Canticles to all units within 12 inches as well

Interesting, AoF might be more useful for allies since the power of Canticles depends on how many units have the rule

dont jump to conclusions people. We don't know if this AoE act of faith is restricted to units only like the current acts of faith.
And considering Celestine is now a unit with 2 Gemini I don't expect AoE resurrection to all. I just expect it to be limited to her unit when they are in range which is still nice even though they are all just powersword weilding nuns.

Also the way canticles are written it only helps units with the cult mech special rule barring a few unit shared rules. We already have this with enginseer in the inqusition book in the warband. Making it AoE still only helps cult mech.

Regarding plastic creed I'm extremely hopeful it's coming (although I expect kell will disappear) because creed is now lord Solar and I expect he will be our new lord of war with upgraded armour and relics and stuff like macharius had back in 3rd before he got syphilus and died.
