Atia, you spicy lass, I'm awaiting more substance from you.

Such a temptress. Haha.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Isn't fearless a shared special rule so Celestine landing near and joining the unit immediately grants them fearless regardless of acts of faith

And considering Celestine is now a unit with 2 Gemini I don't expect AoE resurrection to all. I just expect it to be limited to her unit when they are in range which is still nice even though they are all just powersword weilding nuns.

Also the way canticles are written it only helps units with the cult mech special rule barring a few unit shared rules. We already have this with enginseer in the inqusition book in the warband. Making it AoE still only helps cult mech.

Regarding plastic creed I'm extremely hopeful it's coming (although I expect kell will disappear) because creed is now lord Solar and I expect he will be our new lord of war with upgraded armour and relics and stuff like macharius had back in 3rd before he got syphilus and died.

Not quite, Canticles only affects units with the special rule "Canticles of the Omnisiah", if he bestows that special rule in the bubble, they'll get the special rule and count towards the power of the canticles.

St. Celestine deep strikes in turn 3. I could find only these two parts mentioning her abilities in the battle report

With a blaze of divine light, Saint Celestine descended from the sky, imbuing the warriors of the Imperium with righteous zeal. [...] Nearby guardsman rallied upon seeing her and joined their fellow Cadians to unleash a torrent of lasgun fire at the Bloodcrushers." (p. 86)

Saint Celestine lands near the Black Templars surrounding Abaddon (10). Her arrival prompts all of Erik's fleeing units to rally immediately, denying Dan at least three Victory Points! (p. 87)

I lack knowledge of SoB rules to have an idea if these are Acts of Faith or the troops are just acting pretty faithful. I skipped through the WD pages about her, including the paint splatter, and didnt find anything about her rules. Could have missed it though. GW tends to put in some hints lately. Like totally-not mentioning the release of the new LoC model with the next issue on page 9

To me the quote from Natfka sounds like a sales mail from GW instead of the WD. Maybe even translated and not the original one. This is all I could find so far.

Ya I don't expect him grabbing omminisiah to everyone even the blurb atia wrote limits his ability to cult mech and all vehicles

At this point, it's all exceedingly hypothetical. We know that Cawl has "Canticles of the Archmagos" and "Canticles of the Omnissiah". We don't know what the Archmagos part does.

For all we know, it makes it so that no matter how many units have CotO you get the top tier ability.

Interesting, AoF might be more useful for allies since the power of Canticles depends on how many units have the rule

Wow GW have not made rules that boost lets say Allied Marines rather than the actual Faction of a given character have they? Not shocked.

Without more information, Shield of Faith would make sense being granted rather than Act of Faith but who knows!

Of course the White Dwarf players may not have played with the actual rules - ie got them wrong or misremembered stuff - would not be the first time.

Yes, "knowing" is all well and good but it's nice to see the benefit solidified in GW print in the world of news and rumors.

Forgive me for enjoying that confirmation of said rumor.

Regarding a possible release of a Lord of Change model there is a hint in the new WD (p. 9)
Five things we love in... January

[5]Clearly the Changer of Ways is in the ascendancy, for he has managed to sneak some of his twisted minions into a second issue of White Dwarf, including some that won't be out for another couple of weeks. But can you spot Tzeentch's latest minions, and will the Great Conspirator attempt to infiltrate next issue and go for the hat-trick?

So Canticles of the Archmagos is different than Canticles of the Omnisiah? Interesting

Perhaps then its only the Archmagos ones that affect units within 12 inches

while it does stink that guard aren't getting anything new, it does make some sense. There has already been a campaign book featuring guard and specifically cadians.

Also, gotta love how hard GW is setting up their battered brides for yet another horrendous loss. Im predicting a 10-15s lifespan for those gemini gals and new Celestine before they get contemptuously slain by yabbadabbadon, who needs to Worf Effect the designated imperial Worfs so that people stop thinking him as the designated chaos Worf. Maybe to complete his ascendency to Villain People Take Seriouslyhood an Avatar of Khaine can pop up for him to sneeze on and kill.

This is just the first book of the campaign, and while we are getting model releases for Imperials, it seems that the focus of the actual story is on Abaddon. Other books could have more of a Guard focus, who knows.
Not to bring up any sore points, but Guard got some big things in the Kauyon and Mont'ka books.

They didn't get crap in Kauyon.

They got a single Detachment and some revamps of Apocalypse formations in Mont'ka, along with reprints of the Superheavy Vehicles from Escalation.

A detachment, relics, tactical objectives and maybe an altar of war, AKA "What any given faction gets in a campaign book."

And the reason that Abbadon doesn't get anything (as yet, at least) is the Black Legion supplement now present in TL, with exactly the same amount of stuff the cadians got.

I'd expect some kind of big plot-based changes to Yabbadabbadoon's crusade during a later book meriting some extra chaos themed stuff, but it seems that this book, like every other campaign book, features 2 factions, except this time they seem to be lumping multiple mini factions together.

I'd be highly surprised if they broke the formula of 2 factions getting 1 detachment 1 set of relics each, but it is possible that Kauyon to Montka style this will be immediately followed by a second book with other factions (gogo dark eldar!!)

A detachment that is, to put it bluntly, utterly useless no matter how you play it. Relics and Warlord Traits that seem like they are reused Tempestus rejects than stuff for the Cadians. A chainsword that gives invulnerables in challenges? A Warlord Trait that mandates all characters issue Challenges?

In any regards, that wasn't my point. There was very little actual new in Mont'ka. The biggest thing was the mandate of taking Enginseers in some formations.

A detachment...that nobody uses, because it's designed for apocalypse play.
Few KINDA OK and one pretty good, maybe even cheesy and with a no-brainer-not-to-buy-daemon-models, formations.
Relics...that are pretty much useless, except for Kabe's Herald, which is also situational.
Tactical objectives...well, finally, everyone else ALREADY HAD THEM.
An Altar of War... when everyone plays single Maelstorm.

WOW.

Would be great if the Archmagos passed it's invul to the Knights and it stacked with ion shields tho :>

I believe from what I have heard is that, as stated Grayfax knows a Heretic when she sees one as such she setsup the escape of the Templars.

By sacrificing celestine(Heretic) the SoB(cult) and the Wulfen(well you know) as this saves her from having to kill them causing damage to the imperium at a critical time.

Celestine gets killed and comes back only for some cool dialogue about always returning from death to stop abadon't. At which point Magnus steps in and says ahh ok we don't kill you then and lets just say Abadont has 3 new spawn.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

One thing I haven't seen mentioned about Celestine granting act of faith in a bubble is that it allows sisters units to use their aof if a non-sisters/priest character has joined the unit since you can only use aof if the entire unit has either aof or war hymns.

Are there any imperium characters with fleet other than mephiston? Kind of thinking of ideas to tank for repentia

The detschment is ok for infantry blobs but yes it's not competitve.

However Kabes herald is good
volkavs cane is great
And the artillery formation emporers wrath is great twinlinked, ignore cover basilisks and manticores pretty much annihilate any unit in game.

That's pretty much it for the supplment for competitve choices however I do like the emporer talon (sentinel formation) because it's fun.
