Atia, I take it we wont be seeing any proper plastic sisters kits for a few months?

So Nurgle got allot during End Times, Khorne has gotten a huge kit and now Tzeentch has gotten a huge kit.

Wasn't there a rumour of a Nurgle kit not so long ago?

I'm getting quite worried for Slaanesh, last kit they got were the Hellstriders and they were pretty much "pointless".
Art from Fall of Cadia featured Slaanesh pretty heavily, wonder if they are next after Tzeentch.

Next couple of months could be huge disappointments or pretty awesome depending on what people want. I want plastic Sisters and new Slaanesh. I'd also like a good Sisters codex but I doubt we will get one.

Can't vouch for the reliability of the source, but I was told after Tzeentch it would be Slaanesh, then Nurgle and then Khorne.

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

I feel you! My last three magazines have been all over the place delivery wise, some early, some so late GW send me a replacement, just to have the original show up 4 days later. Jan's is still MIA. Im told after the 15th is the day to contact them for a replacement. ( I only know because I moved and knowing GW I feared I would not see my subscription again so I contact them directly )

Cool, thanks for the info! I'll try getting a hold of them if I don't have it by then. It had just been so consistent for the first three that I was wondering if other people where having the same issues!

Not to nit pick or nuthin', but the first Daemons Codex was the last Codex of 4th Ed. 5th Ed came out soon after.

Yea. I wonder if their undoubtedly explosive sales of a basic troop unit will affect GWs thinking about swarm armies. We can only hope!

Not if the lore has long established that many other planets and regiments have patterned themselves after the Cadians - and, in fact, that stories can happen at any point along a ten thousand year time line.

Also, I think that would run the risk of ticking off a LOT of players who'd be left with incomplete collections, which means that any excuse for it is terrible - a lot of players, if they had to start their collection over again, simply wouldn't. And that's financially worse than keeping them on. Given all the effort that GW as of late has put into trying to lure old players back in (putting out a heap of things that veterans have been asking for for years), I'd like to think they're not that insane.

Thread's moving pretty quick - hard to keep up...

GW changes aesthetics without qualms, my Necromundia Spider Imperial Guard say hello as proof of that, as do the 2nd/3rd edition Tyranids. Heck, Tau crisis suits (and most especially Broadsides) got a recent facelift.

Personally, I wouldn't miss the derpy Starship-trooper look-alikes they current promote. When I was finishing up my current IG army, I picked up a bunch of greatcoat troops from WGF (I'd have done Kreigs, but they're too expensive).

Overall though, I do find it hilarious/disappointing that in the released pictures the IG are faded into the yellow background and that they didn't bother to bundle a set of IG models and the books like they did for many of the other armies involved. Instead, they seem to be focusing on creating big showcase models people would only buy one of, instead of tooling up mass models for the clash of armies where they could sell boxes and boxes of "new shiny" figures (honestly, it reminds me of the type of releases we saw with WHFB's End Times). Seems a typical GW move - aim for the dartboard and end up just missing their own feet.

It never ends well

I agree. I also don't think that they'll at all update the plastic Cadians. We'll sooner see plastic Steel Legion than an updated Cadian box. Oh, and that'd be after an updated Catachan Devils box...

What's left of Cadia

I love the new models and all, but I'm unbelievably disappointed that one of the biggest series of events for the Imperial Guard so far offers almost nothing for the Imperial Guard. By the looks of things Cawl can help my vehicles survive, Celestine can rally my infantry, and Greyfax can cast psychic powers. But there's seemingly nothing directly for my Cadians. So, so, disappointed

They could either do a box of 20 Blue Horrors and a box of 20 Brimstone Horrors, or a box of 10 of each. The end result will still be that you need 2 boxes for a unit of 10 Pink Horrors, but the alternative is having 40 models in the box which I don't really see.

Haha. I actually checked this and he first appeared with 5th edition, the first stand alone codex daemons got - hence I call models from that era classic already xD

LOL. 4th edition actually in 2008; but lets not quibble over details. It does change my idea of what you meant be classic though. I'd was thinking some of the really Rough Trader of 2nd Ed models.

Chaos Daemons came out in May 2008 at the end of the 4th. I have the book in front of me. I had a great 2 months playing Slaanesh then they nerfed rending.

I recall he didn't come out right away with the 4th ed book, and came out later dureing 5th ed. It was from the era were GW were trying out the idea of dumping all the rules, then putting out the models. (I.E. The thing that let the whole Chapter House mess go down in the 1st place...) It's the reason I recall alot of people converting two-headed lord of change.

So TBH I'm prety sure both sides are right.

Slaanesh got several pieces of new artwork in the Curse of the Wolfen book, including fiends for a change. So I guess we'll see. They have to get around to us eventually. But I'm willing to wait for plastic sisters. Well heck pretty much anything if the keep up this level of quality sculpting. The Silver tower was my first time straying from Slaanesh, and it looks like I may stray still further.

No, Lady Atia was right. His miniature came out in August 2010 with the third wave of Chaos Daemon models in the 5th Ed. But his debut was in the 4th Ed codex with no model in 2008. But I'd say that make him even less "classic".

If by affect their thinking you means ingeniously inspiring them to make Horde boxes contains 1/2 the models for 3/4 the price... then sure we can 'hope' (that our wallets don't hate us even more)

Yet my inted was to teaser the daemons without giving too much away. I didn't said CSM.

That said, it's funny how both look like "war-aspects" of their former classic versions rather than 1:1 copies like Ahriman.

all we know is that he is cool with killing millions of psykers a day to keep himself alive.

Yeah. He just gave instruction on how to set golden throne to kill the psykers to keep him alive.

Not much different between him killing and him ordering killings for underlings to do it. Either way blame lies on him.

Actually, the whole thing was the Emperor's idea.

Spoiler:
In "Master of Mankind he orders the Sisters of Silence to enact psyker tithe and create psychic the choir. So that he can leave the throne he could leave the golden throne and turn back the tide of daemons assaulting the Imperial Webway. It only cost a 1,000 men, women, and children's lives. He show zero remorse as he returned to the throne room. He even kept is secret from his Custodes.

Spoiler:
Well as it turns out "some" of the LotD are former Firehawks, but not all. From the "Legion of the Damned" novel, and "The Chapters Due" we know that other chapter's are represented by in the Legion, and that any worthy Marine can join them upon death. Add in the Emperor mass resurrecting fallen Space Marines and a Primach from the Warp to help him turn back the forces of chaos in "Master of Mankind". And the obvious explanation for the existence of the Legion of the Dammed are the spirits or ghosts of fallen space marines which continue to serve the Emperor even in death. It doesn't rule out the Fire Hawks being members of the Legion of the Dammed, they are definetly are. They just aren't the only space marines in the legion.
