That was their background from the start. How did they ruined a mystery when there wasn't one in the first place?

First codex LoD showed up In they were a mystery infuriating inquisition and any who drew close to them for farther investigation. Ghosting onto and off the battle field. Rumors they were the fire hawks? Chapter that was lost in the warp. Where did this warp contagion thing come from? Like Typhus? And terminus EST.? going mad? They seem tactically sound to me.

Spoiler:
They had a full background in WD 99 - including an ugly artwork and silly insignia. In short: they're the last survivors from the Fire Hawks and, like Matt.Kingsley wrote, infected with some kind of warp disease driving them mad and causing their bodies to decay. They now they're dying, but as Marines they want to fight as long as they're able to. A side effect of the disease making them Supermarines with increased stats and some special rules helps. They use the Tarot of the Emperor for their attacks to be in the right place at the right time and sometimes one of them goes berserk and dies afterwards.

In my opinion the emporer is trying to make himself into a God of the warp and bring the fight to the chaos gods. Defintely not trying to destroy the warp. It took slannesh billions of psychic eldar souls to become a warp God. The emporer is just doing it another way by slowly letting mankind do it for him.

The emporer was never a god he was just the most powerful psyker who ever lived. Although he obviously has a power obsession. It seems whomever created the pylons (old ones) wanted to close and imprison the warp whereas the emporer embraced it maybe not the gods or entities that lived in the warp, but the emporer egotistically felt he could use and control it hence the mistake he made by creating a giant freakin warp tunnel in the heart of terra.

He may very well transcend someday and fight the chaos gods in the warp with his ghost marines, but I doubt he will ever become some kind benevolent god. Odds are once he achieves what he desires he will only use humanity for his own needs. There really is no classical good guys in 40k. Most races are good in thier own way and messed up in others. Even factions like tyranids are no more evil than a roach. They are just trying to survive.

Oh wow. Cawl's canticles affect all armies of the imperium? Like increasing BS, restoring HP or giving an invul? And he has a giant melta murder-gun? And he is stocked with tons of other cool machinery?
Triple nice.

Also those are definitely shotgun-armed ruststalkers beside hip but I'd expect them to be just the artist drawing whatever he wants.

That's not the Emperor's plan at all, as there is tons of fluff out there in the Horus Heresy series the detail his goal.

Looks like it affects all Imperials but it doesn't get better without more Cult Mech.

Yeah, "mysterioussss" has been a pattern at GW. Especially Forgeworld. The Fire Hawks, for example, were originally Ultramarines successors. Now? Mysterioussss.

Space Sharks? Mysteriousssss. Minotaurs? Double Secret Mysteriousssss. Red Scorpions? Mysteriousssss.

Not that others don't like to get in on the Mysterioussss. Blood Ravens from THQ. Storm Wardens from FFG.

It's why I always laugh when I read somebody's custom chapter fluff, and sho' nuff, just like everyone else, their snowflake chapter is from an unknown founding and mysterious geneseed, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I pre-ordered on Saturday and had it directed to my FLGS 5 miles up the road. How does that store delivery thing work? It should be there this Saturday, right?

I believe so yes it should be. Just be warned, when you do this, the store owner looses a sale. They might not be happy about it. All you can say is because of the last few releases you were not sure he would be able to get a copy so you ordered it online and didn't want to take a chance he wouldn't be able to get you one.

I would call Customer Service and see what they say. They should know for sure if they all sold out and you didn't get screwed by a hic cup or anything like that. They can tell you if it will ship or not.

Did you have it delivered to a GW or a different shop?

If it's to a GW, expect a "talking to"(you having it delivered to the store doesn't count as a sale for the manager, but if you had gone in on Saturday morning and preodered it through the terminal in-store and had it delivered to your house but selected the "Pay In Store" option--it would count as a sale for the manager) but yeah your models will be there on Saturday assuming the weather didn't futz anything up.

If you had it delivered to an independent shop, I have no idea why you would do that instead of just having it shipped to your house/apartment.

GW seem to be terrified of another Hobbit ltd edition/Khorne Bloodbound situation and are producing much smaller runs.

As an added bonus combine them limiting flgs supplies with the frenzy to buy right now that selling out regularly encourages and they are pushing a lot more sales through there stores.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Interesting. I wondered how that worked. I didn't trust FedEx (or UPS or something) to actually deliver the goods in a timely manner so I sent it to the store. I will probably buy something else while I am there based on the rules in that book. I have never made it out of that store for less that 80 bucks anyways.

EDIT: I also didn't go through webstores (like frontline) because I didn't trust the webstores to beat the backlog. I don't want to have to wait for another sprue production run with LVO coming up so fast.

EDIT2: It is a GW Official store with the big GW logo.

I assumed he ment GW store. But if it's a FLGS that is not a GW store, then yeah you might not get it at all. I never herd of shipping to a non GW store. So I assumed it was a GW store he was getting it shipped to. Yeah that makes a huge difference.

Bingo. GW under produces on purpose to encourage impulse buying.
