They really beefed up Celestine - allowing her to use Healing Tears to bring a Geminae back to life every turn is pretty brutal.

Celestine lost Shield of Faith. Weird. What does Saintly Blessing do?
With AP2 she would be so good!

Greyfax trait is real good against GSC.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Cawl: straight upgrade over Dominus, auto include in Admech lists. Beyond any reasonable definition of durable. More like a GMC than a character. Run him up the field and let him facetank Str 10.

Celestine: best for the points imperial combat HQ. Perfect for stuffing into Conclave backed deathstars.

Greyfax: not worth 50 points over Coteaz. Suppressing overwatch is cool, but how will she get in that magic 12"? Her condemnor bolt thrower is never going to match the power of a Culexus. Amazing model, weak as hell rules when around such power.

EDIT: on the Greyfax warlord trait, many GSC players I see online have tried to rules lawyer that the Cult Ambush table, even during deployment, does not count as infiltrating. Even though the units have to have "infiltrate" to set up like that in deployment, they argue that "Cult Ambush" isn't the same as infiltrate anymore.

I'll probably still take all 3 in my lists if I can (maybe not all at once but still....). Celestine and co would add some punchiness to my Guard, Cawl will make my Russes more durable, and Greyfax will give me some psychic defense (plus she's my favorite model of the Triumvirate)

If I run Greyfax, I will probably get her Psychic Shriek and hope for Invisibility. She will have some pretty good versatility.

Overall, the three characters are quite good. Celestine borders on Auto-Include, Cawl is definitely an auto-include for AdMech.

Her rules are different, it says nothing about infiltrating, it says cannot be placed. Pretty cut and dry.

They fixed Celestine's weird STW interaction. Returning isn't an option anymore.

The real nightmare will be deciding which of these characters to use in my lists. Celestine seems to be an auto-include, but then having both Cawl and Greyfax would probably be awfully points expensive

Greyfax is overpriced for what she brings for sure. Won't be seeing her often.

I was disappointed that Celestine is still able to join units because that means she'll continue to be abused by death star players. Also, I don't understand what's so great about Celestine anyway aside from her Resurrection abilities. Not the greatest Imperial Combat HQ by a long shot, especially not with AP3 on her sword. I would put my money on Draigo, The Emperor's Champion, Smashbane, and Smashfether every time. 5 wounds at toughness 3, even with a 2+ armor and 4+ invuln will go fast. Weight of dice that wound her on 2s, she'll be dead from units cheaper than she is with no problems, all you have to do is take one more wounds off her after she resurrects. I mean what's she really going to do? What damage is she going to cause with a strength 5 ap 3 sword, even with armorbane? You still need a 5 on 2d6 to do anything to a vehicle with rear armor 10, god forbid she gets in combat with a walker of any kind. She sucks, especially for 200 points. Her model is cool as hell but I don't see the appeal rules wise. If they wanted to make her a good tank, they would have given her T4 (so strength 5 weapons don't wound her on 2s) and FNP.

Okay just re-read, the gemini tank for her and she regains all wounds when she resurrects. She's good and I'm a dumb heretic.

Yeah, but I get the feeling that if a OX came out, it would just be disappointing due to the number of options they have. Probably wouldn't have a conversion beamer. OM is fairly straightforward. But you are right, OX definitely needs a model.

Because Celestine is still miles better at CC than anything in my Guard army, and I'm used to T3 for my characters, so that doesn't particularly bother me. Plus that model and her bodyguards are gorgeous

Celestine is also a force multiplier in a way that other super hitting HQs aren't. Smashfether has EW but only 3(4?) wounds and no good way to get them back and no bonuses for his squad. Celestine has 5 eternal warrior wounds and two auto look-out-sir wounds that regen once per turn and resurrection. And she makes whatever deathball you have stronger when she joins with her saintly blessings. Yes, she shouldn't be put into challenges against 2+ armor models, but you have the rest of the librarius conclave with force axes for that business. She also gives the barkstar an easy way to reroll charges with her jump pack.

Yup I just saw that the Gemini tank for her and she regains all wounds when she resurrects, I thought it was just one wound. I'm literally a dumb heretic.

Also, Celestine can play with lots of other lists. Her ability to add Init 7 Hit and Run is a great add for bikes, assault marines, or other forces that aren't White Scars.

Its even better than auto look out sir really, because it can trigger after a failed lookout sir to some other lowby other than the Gemini.

Wow celestine is beefy! 5 wounds? Damn. Makes Ghazghkull and quite a few other characters feel a bit envious. It's a good thing she only has an AP3 weapon because otherwise she'd be an absolute monster.
