Its good but you could get better damage from simply getting another melee henchman. Of course you will get more shots with a bow overall but on the other hand accuracy decreases markedly if your target is in melee. I always have a marksman in my Merc warbands but something like a ranged zealot is a complete waste of time. My Witchunter captain is quite fun though, even though his weapon is white quality its +20 crit chance is very useful and he has the ballistic skill to rarely miss.

How are you getting so many blues? My current warband is Witchhunters who are level 4, who mostly do hard level missions and have completed a few side objectives but only has 4 blues (2 of which are heavy armour thanks to my armourer contract veteran skill and 1 is a completely useless longbow).

Now up to 4 with Undead and have 5 blue - not done any side missions or anything above normal - Blue halbard, blue helmit (2), blue shields (2), - bought all but one from shop, sold several blue items looted from enemies.

Only played Undead a couple of times (I get bored because the are no mutations ) But each time, I've gotten a blue bow as a side quest reward from either the of my first two mission played. Mostly random luck as I've got a Possessed warband mostly around level 6/7 and had nothing but fancy potions and weapons that can't be used. Most of the Blues I've gotten have been from the shop and a couple out of search points.

The library mission is absolutely horrible. A mission with multiple objectives (at least 6-7) heavily featuring teleporters and deamons everywhere? What fun! The Witch hunter missions is also a copy of the Merc Library mission, its terrible.

I'm leaving that mission well alone until I get a healing spell for my warrior priest and a lot more levels. Of course this will probably mean that the rest of the campaign missions are far too easy....

I tried the library mission as undead yesterday. First two times I have tried a story mission and wasn't great. Spent about 4 hours in the mission so far, last two of my best warband members who hopefully won't be too banged up in post game but just can't find the final quest item I need to reach. Tried every teleporter multiple times, checked every corner for climbing / drop down points and no luck at all. Don't want to withdraw so may end up starting a new war and instead. Really disappointed with the mission, hopefully the other story ones are not like this.

I tried it once and lost most of my warband looking for the last two books so have been skittish about going back.

The above statement makes me more so if I may not even find it.

For those who have played it - are the objectives in the same place each time and are the Daemons "without number" - ie just keep respawning?

You don;t have to chose any game instead of another

I have played Mordheim more than X-COM 2 though (62 vs 48 hours).

You do if you only have time to play one or another

In which case I would say most people would probably find Mordheim to be less worthwhile than X-Com 2 (or even the original one for that matter, which you could obtain at a fraction of the price).

Scratch that, I'm going through a poor stretch of RNG.

First attempted warband, First Mission, Vampire crit stunned, dies.

2nd attempt, Vampire crit stunned, dies.

Switched to the Sisters of Sigmar warband I've been having fun with, first cast and matriach hit's the divine caster version of Tzeentch's curse.

Just completed the first act with the Sisters Of Sigmar and holy flaming hammer the specical characther whom comes along on these sorta missions are just insane! She and my Matriarc kicked a rat oger to death and murderd about five other Skaven and did a hefty amount of damage to others as well before reinformencts came along and finished of the rats.
So much good loot that I am drooling, and it feels so damned good to finaly get a break and to haul in the fruits of my labour in this warband.
The only downside is that most of my Warband are now recovering and I have to wait a while before the next mission. But I have enough wyrdstone and gold to see of any issues

The books are random, and the daemons do not respawn.

Solves that then, I guess I can stop my RNG cruelty to vampires (now have a stupid one to add to the collection )

Aye RNG can be absolutley brutal at times in this game, I once lost three henchmen to the pale grip of death when they fell down and died from a relative easy jump.

Don't feel pressured to do the Chapter missions as soon as they pop up. Its possible to pull it off, but its usually "Very Hard" difficulty and has other circumstances that make it much harder than it needs to be. I generally do a half dozen other missions to level up/gear up my dudes and then hit the chapter missions after they pop up. Having just a few extra abilities/HP can be crucial to success. The chapter missions will just sit there, like a bad pierogie on a plate.

The only thing that you should worry about is getting your shipments out on time. Get the veteran abiltity that extends it by up to 3 days, you'll be swimming in wyrdstone soon enough. And wait to sell it, as the multiplier changes. I'm not sure what affects it, but try to get as high a multiplier on the wyrdstone value as possible.

edit: The above is general advice to anyone struggling with the game, not sure how/why I quoted you.

Oh yeah, I was just aiming to do a quick run through of the first Undead mission for Mr Morden, just to see if the books were in random spawns and what not.

I thought the only multiplier change with wyrdstone was when you levelled up your reputation with on of the groups?

The multiplier always seemed random to me. It definitely fluctuates, but I never bothered to figure it out.

I think it changes after how many sucsessful deliveries and what not you have had with the main faction you send Wyrdstone to.
