I heard from someone somewhere that the sisters with white hair amongst the Order of Our Martyred Lady are bald and actually have wigs. It might sound ridiculous to ask for such information but is it officially true and confirmed in some source?

It's not a source exactly but the Sisters of Silence from the Burning of Prospero are shaved bald with the exception of their topknots. Old School hairdos are a pretty common thing in the Grimdark, just look at Jain Zar - that's some Beyond the Thunderdome hair right there.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Officially that's one order only conformed with that hair...

Variations on the bob hair colour are fine I'm sure. Id be inclined to paint blonde and browns maore than white. .

Black clash with normal armour unless red or white sisters... Maybe blue.

I see what you mean but that's not about the question I asked. I know it's the case only for that one order, and that not all of them have white hair. I just heard that when there is white hair, the person is bald and is using a wig, and I'm searching for a confirmation.

Could be for uniformity... But id not put it past imperium to do some freaky science too.
They have some more crazy options in the technology repatriate.

Or maybe they are just using hair dye.

Well what I'm asking isn't about subjective assumptions, but rather official sources about this matter that anyone would luckily be aware of.

As a secondary question to this does anyone ever wonder if the Orders dye their hair to venerate specific patron saints? E.g. the Order of Our Martyred Lady has bleached/white hair because Saint Katherine (their specific founder from the original six) did?

(As to the original question I can tell you that the image that is the prototypical Sister (the one on the 'Battlegear of the Adepta Sororitas' page in the old Witch Hunters book) doesn't look at all like she's wearing a wig, but the models have cleaner/more organized/bulkier hair than that image so I'm not sure.)

I have never seen any kind of official source that says that, Eliphas.

This. Ask the guy who says it's real to provide, or at least name, a source.

Makes me wonder if the hair color has any significance now.
Ive always just painted mine with a combo of browns and white for the canoness cause i figure she would have to be older and there is always at least one blonde in my platoons.

Strange factoid either the blondes models die at first opportunity or they survive all game even if i loose most of squad in battle. Has happened like 8 times now. And none of them had special weapons either.

MY sisters have their own hair bleached/colored white as a sign of their purity. I've never seen any fluff saying Sisters wear wigs.

I think that their hair just turns white as a result of the stress that their lives have.

Then they just have a uniform haircut.

No wigs or dyes.

Hypothetically, if someone were to provide the page number for a book you don't own, how would you verify it?

And if you own every relevant book, why don't you just go look it up yourself and tell us?

I was wondering this also. I imagined that it could go both ways. They have a set way to do their hair or just personal preference within the acceptable zone of whatever hair regulation they follow. I suppose just like modern day female hair regs.

I still have a question.

Who decided that this was something that Sisters of Battle should do, and why did they think it was necessary when they were just going to provide helmets for them to wear over their masks anyways?

1. Yes, I gather it was intended to be humorous.
2. I disagree. Hence my lack of laughter.

I could have sworn I saw something that said they're actually bald with heads covered in implants for the armor and wear wigs over that.

Or maybe I made it up.

Alicia Dominica emerged from her near-Emperor experience with her hair turned white. The Order of Our Martyred Lady wear their hair this way in reference to her and likely by way of bleach.

Presumably, doing so in conjunction with their mournful black armour, they're representing glory won by sacrifice.

My one blond killteam sister has survived every game I've fielded her in.

... If you count failing her leadership test as running away and surviving...

If someone told me it was mentioned on codex Dark Orks from Necromunda, I'd tell them to go to hell. If someone told me it was in the third issue of Daemonifuge, on page 17, I'd try to get an issue, or someone who owns an issue, to check it.

Does that effectively explain enough, or do I need to elaborate some more?

I have this mental image a Sister with her wig off sort of looking sad and weary.

Driving me nuts.

Maybe it was just fan art.
