I love it, but where was this one 10 years ago?

With that out of my system, the things I am going to do with this game...... Muhahahahaha!

What a great concept, and reason for me to go get a few more boxes of dark elder again. (I hate you GW!!!)

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Better execution than some of the best multi-part plastic kits with the most dynamic poses available in any model range, GW or otherwise?
How?

I'm looking forward to this.
I like the hellion and jet bike models, but have no urge to collect an entire DE army.
This will scratch this itch nicely

That's a good point, there was also the jetbike racing game in White Dwarf 230-ish that had rolling terrain.

Looks like an interesting release, they've picked up on a good concept and it could be quite fun.

Rolling terrain is cool. I will certainly give this a look.

It all depends on the rules and the customization options to make your own cool gang etc. Who knows it could be fun if it is an actual miniatures game rather than a board game.

So far none of their stand-alone boxed games have had anything new included, aside from custom decals and rules to play said games.

Execution Force and the Horus Heresy games had new stuff which was later released as standalone kits and Silver Tower has a bunch of unique models, so there is plenty of precedent for previously unseen models to make it into standalone games.

That said, I very much doubt that this one will have anything we haven't seen before.

The deadly aerial manoeuvres and breakneck speed of the turf wars of Commorragh are soon coming to a battlefield near you.

Gangs of Commorragh allows you to recreate the violent skirmish battles for territorial supremacy that are waged constantly in the spires of the Dark City. Take charge of a feral gang of Hellion skyboarders, or a pack of lethal Reavers and carve out your empire in the webway’s last great city.

The box is an entirely self-contained game, giving you everything you need to play, including two gangs, rules and card scenery to recreate the jagged towers of Commorraggah’s forbidding skyline.

You can play quick one-off games, or a full campaign in which your gang will grow and develop as you win battles and claim more territory.

All in, Gangs of Commorragh is looking pretty exciting, and we’ll have more news about this new box game very soon.

Until then, watch the skies…*

As a dark eldar player i love this. We are getting more attention. Perhaps finally people will buy those hellions nobody ever gets. Perhaps we'll find an easier way to get reavers off this set and we get our own boxed game.

Not only this but more attention means the dark eldar faction in 40k is probably getting re-done with this news. Considering the death watch game with death watch and genestealer cults turned into a new army for each i wouldn't be shocked this means dark eldar will get some hot stuff very soon. We might even get a new kit for these units.

I bought one box of hellions (madness i know) because i liked the look of the models. Only issue i had with the model itself (outside of gameplay) was that the arms had issues gluing on but it was very annoying.

And with Dark Eldar involvement in the new 40k storyline, this is an exciting time for DE players.

Xenos terrain?

That'll never catch on.

Unfortunately, this probably isn't a buy for me but it is good to see that they are continuing to put the Games back into GW.

For those with Dark Eldar armies already, if it's anything like Stormcloud Attack, you might be able to buy rules only later.

I bought the Tidewall (Tau). I hope to see some interesting DE terrain with the board game. As a matter of fact the only reason for me to buy this as a DE player is the DE terrain. My Tidewall turned out great and one of my most popular paint jobs with people I show my work to.

Every time I think gang combat I think this. Maybe I'll paint them up in different gang schemes from this movie. Would be cool.

This is the first time since Gorkamorka that they have made a game without human/imperial influence. And even Gorkamorka introduced 'oomies with the diggas.

This bit is beyond precedent. It's nice to see a distinct lack of imperium influence in a 40k game. Refreshing even.

Since I feel Gorechosen is the best thematic game GW has made since space hulk, I am hopeful that this will be at least enjoyable

Why do I have a feeling this heralds a campaign book with only Xenos in it?

Probably going to put the Tau in the IoM's place getting attacked by Orks and or Nids with allies from one or two xenos races.

Damn, I was hoping for a gladiatorial pit fighting game, where as a dark Eldar slaver you bought a gang of slaves from various new alien races (as well as some standards) and fight other players to earn money to upgrade or replace your gang. Like a cross between Gorkamorka and blood bowl.

Looking at that box art, they seem to be going up at a near vertical climb. I don't know how that Hellion stays upright with his feet on his skyboard, even with that chain hooked to his crotch.

Much like space commorragh has always been depicted as not really having a particular direction. Sure when you get down to ground level on a large solid structure there is up from the perspective of the person and structure, but when you zoom back to the city proper it doesn't really have an "up". To me the cover looks like they are racing directly at me and about to impact into me, but I can see how it looks like they are going up as well. The buildings look like they are on their wide sides with one of the edges pointed towards us. Kinda like how the citadel from Mass Effect looks.

Also don't forget g-forces; even in the real world loops and rolls can put enough force to overcome gravity, by several times over.

Eh. Might be cool for some, but for me it's the first boxed game I've had no interest in for a while. Two kits I didn't ever buy doesn't become a must-buy because bundled together. Still, it's creative I'll give them that, and sounds like some peeps will get a pile of fun out of it.

This is a really interesting box, as Hellions are debatable the worst unit in the Dark Eldar codex, and Reavers are by far the best. It takes the far sides of the spectrum and puts them together

I love the idea of gang warfare in Commorragh, especially with campaign rules. However I dislike that it sounds like it will be all "skyline" and focused on flying models. It's quite a bummer as it squanders the opportunity to use all the gorgeous DE models on on foot. I'd love a gang warfare game where I could grab some Kabalites, Wyches, Hellions, Reavers, and a Scourge or two and have a rumble.

Really? Most of these box games have sold very well. They broaden the appeal of GW beyond the typical wargamer. They don't need nearly as much money to get into nor do they need a huge amount of time or space. My sister just bought gorechosen (without asking my advice) as her first ever GW product. I am very in favour of this new boardgame push even though I have only bought one of them so far. If the price is right, this may be my second.
