Per /tg/ so may not be reliable:

"Gang of Commorragh only includes a gang of reavers of commorragh (3) & gang of feral hellions (5), 2 ruler, pack of dice, 3 spike of commorragh (little 3d carton scenery like towers), pack of cards and 48 page rulebook.

The box size is small like lost patrol."

Interesting if true. Well, the last bit is, seeing as they've already posted up the box.

I suppose it would be too optimistic for them to match lost patrols price - if it was just £35 then I'd definitely be getting it

Considering they're all larger kits than the scouts and genestealers, I highly doubt it.

True, but the difference is only £6 between the stealers and the reavers with what sounds like less bits and bobs

Somewhere in the £35 - 40 region though

Annoyingly my colleague upstairs at work has a copy of the new WD but I can't check the price as he's in a meeting but I think it's £40. So basically you're getting the game for free.

There are no detailed information about the price (or contents for that matter) in the current WD as far as I can remember (might have overlooked it in any small boxes but I'm 99% sure about it).

I just checked, only a two-page coming soon ad (similiar to the Blood Bowl one in November 2016) but not a price. No need to kick open the door

Ah that's probably why I didn't spot it - only got to glance jealously at it yesterday but gonna steal it on my lunch break, lol.

It will be interesting if this is true. I'd guess the cards are like programmed maneuver cards as we typically see in games like Crimson skies, wings of war, etc.
Or even better, action cards like in Gorechosen.

Is it me or does this sound like another variant of Necromunda (ala GorkaMorka) ? I'd rather they had re-released the gang-warfare game of old instead of this, even if they plan on adding variant gangs to the GoC game (Scourges being the obvious first extra gang in WD, with maybe Harlies, Kabalite warriors and Haemonculy cult to follow-suit, and maybe slave-IG, slave-orks etc afterwards?)

Doesn't sound anything like Necromunda or GorkaMorka to me. I get the impression of a much simpler one-off game. I agree about rather seeing Necromunda re-released though!

Necromunda is apparently the specialist game after Adeptus Titanicus.

This allows them to rebox two existing kits at very little cost, rather than the bigger investment that redoing Necromunda will be.

It's a game of gangs that has a campaign element, how deep that system is remains to be seen, but it at least had superficial similarities to Necromunda

It could very well be a simple "survive the game, gain a skill" type of campaign, like with Stormcloud Assault.

I'm just hoping that this introduces hellion and reaver characters that can be transferred in to larger scale 40k games.

Its a shame if the /tg/ info is correct, although not entirely unexpected. The 40k universe is full of potential for in depth skirmish games that take place outside the scope of the main table top game, but GW seem unwilling or unable to commit to one. For example how cool would Execution force have been as a assassin vs assassin game set during the wars of vindication? Gangs of Commorragh may well be a fun game on its own merits, but its always gonna feel a bit like a wasted opportunity.

True, but a rule book with the same page count as a painting guide probably means its not Necromunda or Gorkamorka with Dark Eldar. Again I'm not saying its going to be bad, just probably not what I'm looking for in a skirmish game set in the 40k verse. Strangely the new version of Adaptus Titanicus may be the best hope I have for scratching that particular itch.

Kill Team got by with a 32 page book, so not seeing the problem here.

Kill Team was specifically an expansion to the general 40k rules and builds off those. You still need the main rulebook and the codex for whatever army you're using.

That said it's perfectly possible to make a good game with a small rulebook, even with campaign rules. It's even more possible if you off-load the tables of static data like weapon characteristics and advancement options to cards. It just won't use the same stat-line as 40k. Or even necessarily the same dice.

Gorechosen got by with less than half that, and it is arguably the most enjoyable boardgame GW has produced since space hulk.

On a site like this with a biased user based, that sentence needs to be qualified in order to be understood.

When not looking at this as a chance to pad your chaos army with more models, and just as a stand alone product with nothing else to do with the rest of the GW games, it's a great playing engine that is solid as all hell.

The main point is, I'm glad that beefy rule books aren't necessary for a game to be good. Gorechosen is a modern masterpiece, and while the game is fairly simple too, it didn't need to be over explained.

Good!
If I wanted to play 40K, I sure as hell wouldn't be buying a Boardgame.
The less it looks like 40K, especially nowadays, the better.

Just play Necromunda then! YakTribe has kept it very much alive, and it's easy to get people into.

Plus Necromunda is the Specialist Game they're doing after Adeptus Titanicus.

This makes me very happy to hear (as a tangent). I have Gorechosen but haven't played a game with it yet (trying to get it all painted first). Can't wait to give it a shot after reading this :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
