Not sure if Bostria is serious. Afterall that's coming from the guys that basically did Ghost in the Shell the game. Masamune Shirow sure would like to receive licensing fees. ;-) The Last Saga guys are not ripping off. There is nearly no stupid cheesecake CB is so fond of. Each design is in itself sufficiently unique imho. And the game is pretty different, too. That level of hypocrisy used to be GW's turf. ^^

The people behind the Rezolution game claim that Infinity ripped them off. I think Bostria is joking.

It is hard to tell much about those minis from the tiny images. The rules will be a free download. Written in Spanish, of course.

News: I received notice from GameNerdz that my Festively Plump Space Buccaneers with a Ramen Addiction shipped. So watch your inboxes. And your mailboxes. Am I the only one tempted to put the minis on a scale and see how much they weigh? ( in grams)

Loki, a Ramen Task Force Box for GenCon. Interesting. Especially since CB will no longer include the starter set in the box. I wonder how they will fill the box. A Tuareg, Khawarij Spitfire, A Zhayedin... and 7-8 more minis. The Al Fasid HRL? Something new? We'll have to wait until at least the end of May before we start to see serious GenCon teasers. I do hope it is more than just a re-boxing like this steel phalanx thing. Assuming it is true, the rumor.

I would bust a rib laughing if they make a Blackjack proxy first.

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

That 'stupid cheesecake style' is what attracted a lot of us to the game, and also what makes us continue to love the miniatures. Obviously that's personal taste but it's always been a part of the Infinity aesthetic, is apparent to everyone before they buy into the game, and it's going nowhere.

In regards to Carlos' comment there's a big difference between saying something on social media and taking a company to court. Your comparison between this situation and GW suing or threatening left right and centre is actually quite disingenuous.

Personally I think they look damn close to Infinity models, so fair comment from Carlos.

100% not serious. While he's the 'public face' of CB, if they were actually concerned they'd have their lawyers look into it, not have an employee make a two word comment on facebook.

But one doesn't have to be concerned to make a "jab" seriously or not-seriously. There is no reason to have lawyers look because in no way shape or form is there any legal stance for any complaint from anyone. However that doesn't mean someone can't make a snide comment. Hard to say I could see it either way honestly since many things tend to get lost in translation or meaning.

It has to be a joke. The figures look like Infinity style figures because at least one of Corvus Belli's sculptors, Javier Urena, sculpted a bunch of Last Saga figures. See a few on Javier's deviantart page http://javi-ure.deviantart.com/gallery/

A lot of them are on his Facebook back from 2014, so he did these a long time ago.

Anyway. I got my shipping notice for the Manga and Yuan Yuans. Pretty happy. Was figuring I wouldn't get them for another 2 weeks as I always do pre-orders from different companies and always seam to pick the slowest. This time did Gamenerdz and quite happy.

Just got word from my FLGS that the Fat Yuan-Yuan and Manga/Merc have arrived today. If I wasn't that lazy, I'd be off and out now... so tomorrow.

Just wait until you see what the basic troops for the Uruhval faction look like.

^^^Just did. I would call them stupid cheesecake.

When does the Army Builder update with the new profiles? Only the Major Lunah profile this month, I believe.

I didn't see the news mentioned here, but the Army Builder App for android is available for all in the Google Play store. Works nicely enough on my Nexus.

I'm keen to see Major Lunahs profile, hoping it's not another Sniper/MSV/Mimetism profile.

My current hope is the visor is something else, like they did with Leila Sharif having a visor that is actually a KHD.

The Marvel style of the trailer is good but... what is this? A boardgame? A card game?

An aristeia or aristia (/ærᵻˈstiː.ə/; Ancient Greek: ἀριστεία, IPA: [aristěːaː], "excellence") is a scene in the dramatic conventions of epic poetry as in the Iliad, where a hero in battle has his finest moments (aristos = "best").

My guess.... Arena Combat game. Probably from 1 v 1 to 5 v 5.

But I know nothing, just guessing.

Aristeia is an in universe TV show pitting professional combatants against each other.
It's a bit vague how it works as its apparently featured successful ninjas and snipers.

I'm guessing this is a card game as some of that art seemed new and it makes sense to be something other than mini related.

Wasn't Senor Massacre a successful Aristeia fighter?

Seeing that hex-grid and the likelihood of this being a more boardgame-style combat game immediately made me think of GW's upcoming Shadespire.

It is a boardgame.

And it also has an official site, not much info though.

Look at some of the pictures that flash across the screen. Use "K" to pause and "<" and ">" keys to go frame-by-frame. You'll see some of the same characters in various poses lending to this being card-heavy. You'll see a cowboy guy with cards and a revolver, a catgirl, Mushashi, and Lunah herself. The catgirl also has an image of a laser going through her chest in a very lethal manner lending this to probably being a lethal combat bloodsport; no doubt that Cubes will be involved in some manner.

The hexagon board with various symbols likely is the arena itself.

I'm going to assume this may not be a miniatures-specific board game, but there will be optional miniatures you can use to represent the characters. Especially considering Musashi has a "Aristeia" figure, I'd imaging we'll be getting special edition models for Lunah, Catgirl, and Gun-Gambit.

They've mentioned a Wild Bill before I think, so will probably be him.

Yyyeeeaaahhh.... Not really interested. They've said it's not a miniatures game, it's a board game. Specifying 'not a miniatures game' I'm assuming it's all cardstock tokens and such. Considering I can't get my group to play the board games I already have, without miniatures to use in Infinity as proxies it's nothing but dead shelf space to me.

Glad they're finally trying some new stuff though. Between licensing the RPG, the Manga and now this, it gives me hope they will keep trying new things.

It does not say that there are no miniatures, just that it is not a "miniatures wargame". There are plenty of boardgames using miniatures, and it would be pretty dumb for CB to not use this as a gateway for infinity.

They had special edition miniatures for the RPG made by another company. It'd be silly for them to not have miniatures for their first board game.

The miniatures may not be necessary, but they'll probably be associated.

I was at a seminar last year where Gutier was expanding on Carlos' Gencon seminar and he was talking about minis for the game, possibly in plastic. Apparently, they were even touting the idea of chibi plastics - I'm hoping and presuming that idea got nixxed.

Considering that an awful lot of games that are described as boardgames have minis/playing pieces, I'd guess that they are using the term to differentiate it from a miniatures wargame; when you think about it, all the term "boardgame" tells you is that it's played on a board.

Presumably hexes are involved because everyone knows that if it has hexagons, it's futuristic (that and the video features them prominently).

Its a boardgame not a miniatures wargame, as far as I know there is no term as miniatures boardgame, boardgames can have tokens, meeples, miniatures, without changing its description.

More details will come in due time.

Not sure if trolling or wilfully blind/ignorant.
There's a huge difference between paying homage to something by making something similar in style and a total ripoff. Paint that beret guy in the council starter pack blue and he's 100% a fusilier ripoff. Also, pick off the back antennas of the Druze miniatures and put them next to that council reinforcement pack and you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference, especially if you give them the same paint job.

Level of hypocrisy? When Corvus Belli is dragging people to court and go on record and state that they invented a Greek letter, then yeah, MAYBE we'll talk about same level. Having a Corvus Belli employee making a snark comment on Facebook? Naw man, not even close.
For the record, yes this is a total ripoff. It isn't the kind of ripoff like chapter house but more the kind of ripoff like "Feldmaster" which was "totally unique" from Feldherr.

Release News, as seen on that other forum:
Danavas Hacker with Karkata remote (whatever that is)
Caledonian Starter Box
Hassassin Ayyar
Bagh-Mari HMG

What look like repacks of 2 per blister:
Ninjas MSR and Hacker
Zeroes Combi rifle and Hacker

And the Steel Phalanx army box

Only 4 new releases. Maybe one of the re-packs is new? It'll be nice to see the Ayyar. We've seen the renders of these, but I'm not sure about all of the Caledonians.

This is what is left of ther Adepticon renders preview:
-Zhangying w/Combi and goofily sculpted greatcoat.
-Airborne Ranger with Molotok
-Sukuel Command w/ML
-Riot Grrls and the megacephalic tinbot box

these may be next month.

The boardgame is interesting. I and my group we like boardgames, but we only play those that are for 3+ players.
