I'm looking at getting one of the FW Avatars. Are there separate rules for him, or do you just use the normal Craftworld codex ones, What about the option with the Spear?

No distinct rules, he's just much cooler-looking.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Pain in the ass to paint though Be expected to sacrifice a brush as all the cracks in his skin are quite sharp.

Planning to go down the air brush route.

Make sure to turn the PSI down really low, like sub-10 and get deep in the cracks. There's a few youtube videos of someone airbrushing the same avatar.

Thanks, I once saw a really good paint job on the Tyranid dimacheron by next level painting on you tube. I was planning on following that in a way. But I'm going to do a lot of research before I even touch it to be honest. I want it to look the part.

Some reason my post got screwed up. So here it is again.

On a slightly connected note, does anybody know if the Khaine idol/statue from the Dark Elf Cauldron of Blood can be used as an Avatar of Khaine for 40K?

Looks pretty cool too.

You can find me in the Chicago Tiki Room, where the drinks are always strong but don't taste that way!!!

I've certainly seen a few photos online of it being used as such, and it was a common suggestion when the kit came out - I believe it's about the size of the GW one, so as long as it's on a similar base (40mm?) you're good to go.

I can't see any reason why someone would want to stop you using it. It looks awesome.
