It's amazing to see people care about what Nazis co opt. (That's not directed at any individual) I mean, nobody should think it's newsworthy or worth mentioning that Nazis like milk or whatever. Maybe it's because I'm not on Facebook or in my 20s anymore but it's weird to me to see the internet/zeitgeist create something out of nothing. It's like there's a parallel society where things like white supremacy is associated with a fondness of milk and Trump is connected to frog memes etc. that gets brought up by pundits, on message boards and podcasts but I never encounter anyone IRL at work/social events/sporting events that mentions it. None of the Trump voters I know were sending out frog cuck memes or aware of alt right political philosophy they were just disaffected Republicans, anti Hillary/anti Democrat conservatives and anti establishment populists. This is the sort of thing that I would expect to find on Info Wars, Alex Jones ranting about how the Bilderbergs are hijacking reddit threads to implant social cues in the zeitgeist to incite conflicts or whatever. Well, /r/the_donald did get artificially boosted so maybe that's a bad example of a crackpot conspiracy but it's still odd to me to see what I thought of as a spare time social activity turn into something that dominates the 24 hr news cycle and pop culture.

It isn't newsworthiness as such but it's useful to know what white supremacists get up to because if you know their code you can identify them and act accordingly. The reason you don't see that frog much in real life is because most of the people who post it online don't have much personal social interaction.

Were we having trouble spotting white supremacists? The shaved heads, suspenders, boots, swastika tattoos, and white hooded robes weren't enough of a tell? Liking milk strikes me as a useless non sequitur. Look! That dude has a gallon of milk, maybe he's a Nazi. Or maybe he has a toddler at home or enjoys eating cereal for breakfast.

Its actually pretty improtant. You are not the target audience for this stuff, its your children. Places like R/The_Donald is filled with people who can't legally vote yet, same with 4chan and Voat. You don't change culture by targeting adults, you get the children.
You could look into the rash of harassment then happened in schools just after Trump won. It has nothing to actually do with Trump but movements like Gamergate, MRA and Red Pill, now the Centipedes (Trump followers).

So...does anyone actually know where the nazi milk thing came from? Because the only thing that I could find related to that was that time during the He Will Not Divide us stream when a vegan guy started claiming that drinking milk was racist, so in typical 4chan fashion /pol/ started to run with it. Then the internet happened and that's how we got nazi milk, even though it doesn't actually seem to have anything to do with nazis. Or maybe stormfront did decide to go with it, which to me is hilarious. They would have basically copied a gakky joke that really should have died out in a month. Also, where does chocolate milk stand? If milk is racist because its white, what about milk that's brown?

Chocolate milk can still be racist if you want to use the line of reasoning that it was culturally appropriated by whites from the indigenous people of South America who first started using the cocoa beans in their diet.

Is that it? That's pretty weak. That's like 5th grader level of racism. I mean, they had centuries of racist theories to go on, and they went with that one? My observation that it originated as a joke that got out of hand is more plausible.
Also, what is ((()))? I do not know of that one. I saw it, but I don't know its significance.

Secret Service has spent nearly $17K on golf cart rentals for Trump’s Mar-A-Lago visits
Notable, however, is that Trump’s Secret Service has spent more at the company in 67 days (the above $16,685 plus another $8,000 for leasing “Ground Effect Vehicles, Motor Vehicles, Trailers, and Cycles”) than Obama’s did in any given year during his second term.

Oh, it's an issue and a problem on the interwebs. I just think a few of us older farts don't understand how the younger generation is so in tuned with what was once something relegated to what crazy Uncle Freddie only knew about. Frankly, I am making light of it humorously because it scares the crap out of me. Is 4chan sort of like those nudie playing cards of today's generation? In other words, something that is really important in adolescence because it was so scandalous, but when looked at in a few years once puberty hits, becomes just another silly thing one did in their youth? Please let me sleep easy tonight and just say yes.

Well, this is anecdote, so not worth much really, but my friend's kid (12 yeasr old) has been radicalised this way. She is a 1/2 time parent, and the dad is kind of a gakhead. So the kid spends 1/2 his time 4channing and redpilling and worse, and now he's pretty hardcore alt-right fethhead. It's kind of sad, he was a pretty good friend of my daughter when they were younger. He's not allowed over anymore.

Proof please. How many thousands of people have the Nazis killed in the US? How many bars did they shoot up? Government functions? Attempts to blow up Times Square?

Mostly yes, actually. The problem is that some people don't outgrow it and look back upon it with embarrassment. It's a bunch of very bitter people who lash out because they're terrified of expressing vulnerability.

Well, Steve Bannon got into the White House off the back of Trump, who campaigned on a platform of fascism and throwing out brown people.

I am sure you are correct on that. Occasionally GC will tell me about whole worlds on the internetz I never knew existed.

I knew kids in high school who were proud fascists and neo nazis, and that was before the whole internet echo chamber effect. Kids love ideologies with absolutes that make them feel important and make others responsible for all their mistakes.

Thats what happens when you don't send kids off to the coal mines when they are eight. They get all sorts of crazy ideas.

Many many thousands, and that's without including their impact on everyone in the US via human trafficking, drug trafficking, racketeering, and weapon smuggling. There is a reason why white supremacists outnumber radical islamists in our prison system.
White supremacists will affect you long before an Islamic terrorist will. But it's easier to keep us focused on the enemy outside rather than the enemy within.
