Nice start Yorkright. In answer to your question... they are plague-bubbles of course!

Been getting a few hours of fun work in, Plaguecaster finished and next set of Poxwalkers started. Not real happy with the caster, broke one of his sashes and cracked one of his horns when I dropped him. At my current speed I should have Deathguard done by the nod of September.
Again thanks for looking

Sorcerer is looking great with his smokey blast and I definitely don't want to meet the poxwalker in a park anytime.

Nice work, York'.

I have significant changes planned for the plaguecaster, dunno what yet.
But seeing your's I can now see what GW was going for with the smoke and fat (blowing) face... will still need to change it somehow.

Finally finished the next set of walkers, thought I would toss in a pic of what I have finished so far. Two more Deathguard to go, will post a WIP when I decide which one to start on.

Hoping to get the codex this weekend and perhaps some other things.. then get a game in.

@Cam thanks, disgusting is the latest fashion in 40k.

@Gitz wishing we could get a game in too.

@Dr H thank you :-)

Starting laying down some colors on the lord of sneezes and snuffles. The model is a bit intimidating but now that I have started getting psyched to finish him. Going with the standard GW colors but with some extra rust.
Again thanks for looking.

Not sure why the pics are sideways, will retake later so you don't have to turn your screen side ways..

Love the rich purple with the mail and pale green. Nice choice.

Those Poxwalkers look ace the building up of colour with shades and inks has worked an absolute treat!

Oh, and extra rust never goes amiss

Thanks a Gitz, I may need some CC on the cloak. Trying to make it look more like cloth any suggestions?

@ Ynead thank you, I really love the poxwalkers and may try to get some more. Thinking about running Typhus with a couple of large blobs.

Here is a little update on the Contagion lord, want to thank Dr H for his help with the rust. I did not have all the things he normally uses but his technique for dabbing the wash on the rusted parts with your finger works great.

Not where I should be

That is looking fantastic.

I am far from someone to advise on painting, but Bebop does this thing with lots of dots that really makes it look like cloth, I tend to do a cross hatching method with the highlights, make it look like material, mind you mine probably comes out more like hessian than fine cloth. I am sure one of your fellow painters will help you out here.

I suggest talking to graven, he's mastered cloakes.

Eeeew! He's looking just the right shade of sickly for a nurglite Lord

Must give Bebop's blog a look for that little dots method. The only one I've figured out so far is successive washes to make something look like leather...

You're most kind.

I dunno, man, I like your cloak a lot I think you need some softer highlights in there, maybe a thin 50/50 of your purple with decahala lilac and then blended whilst still wet up to the edges with the lilac. I'd then wash it with thinned greenshade - I'm very into using contrasting colours for washes - and a little camosahde in the deepest recesses also, and take the final highlights up again with lilac thinned with a little wolf grey or similar. I'll do an example of something similar over on my blog. Needed an excuse to start Dr Fate and Martian Manhunter

Hope that helps!

Went back and redid the cloak, took out the reds and took, the highlights up to a light purple. Added a green wash of thinned warp stone green. Thanks for the tips Graven I think the cloak looks richer and has more contrast from the rusted mail.

Thanks for all the help and comments.

Fantastic job on the cloak, the whole mini is stunning, really nice work, can't wait to get to mine now. I have no idea of list building or playing for that matter, but I bought the Nurgle Daemon Starter Box to expand on my Dark Imperium dudes. Will be doing a few conversions myself as well, a rhino etc. You have really flown through these mini's and done an amazing job too.

Lordy chap looks great. Cloak turned out well, and nice job on the rusty bits (how'd you find the method, easy ain't it?)

@Cam thank you, I am looking forward to your DG build and all the wonderful conversions you do.
@Gitz will keep you updated on a possible game when I can get together.
@Shasolenzabi, got to love the Ooze
@Orlando after visiting your blog I think folks should check out your converted foetid blight drone it is so cool. Poxies are some of my favs to paint and pretty easy to finish and get on the table.
@Dr. H Rusty bitz? Some guy I know had some great advice you should check him out (thanks again) same with the cloak some other fella gave me some advice for that too (thanks graven). Yours are probably taking longer cause I am an out of the box, slap some paint on em gamer while you are an outside the box painter. Most of the folks on DakkaDakka seem to do a lot of conversion work and I am envious of those skills.

See you on the flippty flip.
