Hi guys,

I was looking for a solution to be able to play at home. This is, where I have my dining table which is in a small office by the kitchen I don't have enough space to get up a couple of boards, so that leaves me with the living room. There is no table in the living room, but I have enough room to set up some of those folding tables.

I play both 40k/AoS and malifaux which needs a 3x3. I have looked into some folding tables but they are usually 180x75. I would need to set up two to get to 180x120 (6x4) and 2 of those will actually give me 150 width, which is too much and to play malifaux I would still need to set up both of them which is anoying and way too big.

My ideal would be 2 4x4 (120cmx120cm) folding tables, but haven't been able to find any (though i might not have looked in the right place)

The other option is the only 6x4 one I have found https://www.incomgaming.co.uk/products/6-x-4-portable-gaming-table though this one seems rather expensive.

Could you guys give me suggestions?

UK based.

I use 2 wallpaper paste up tables from B&Q but then again, I have a dedicated wargaming room so I don't have to worry about taking them down and putting them back up again.

like these ones?

http://www.diy.com/departments/painting-decorating/decorating-tools-supplies/wallpaper-paste-pasting-tables-brushes/pasting-tables/DIY1625729.cat

It's a few cm short on each side, but at least it is way cheaper

Yep, those are the ones. I have a couple of mdf boards that are on top to provide a flat and stable surface (and that extend the area as they overhang the actual tables).

The downside is that the tables aren't that strong so you can't sit or lean too hard on them. I braced mine with extra offcuts of wood and made some extra legs to support the middle. As I said, they work for me because I don't have to fold them away but probably not much good for you if you are looking to have to put them up and down.

I have 6 of these:

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/desks/table-tops-legs/linnmon-table-top-white-art-00251135/

£5 each, and £2.50 per leg. 4 together, with 2 side tables for armies, books, etc. 100cm x 60cm so two should give enough width for malifaux. 6 tables for £90, and sturdy enough to take 2 6x2 MDF textured base boards. Happy bunny.

I picked up two 6' x 2.5' folding tables for about $35 each and they work great.

Thing is, how do you assembles them and disassemble each time you want to play?

I think I might have to do something like this. I rather get the 6x4 but when folded I to 3x4 there is no room where I had in mind for it

I use two of these side by side. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cosco-6-Centerfold-Table-Multiple-Colors/46368979?variantFieldId=actual_color I roll a fatmat over the top and that eliminates the problem of the slight gap between them. It works really well, but it does take up a large space once setup, roughly 6x5 I think.

I'm considering making a table top for my dining room table. The table is about 5x3 which is good for x-wing but that's about it. What I would do is use two 4x3 pieces of 1/4 inch plywood and attach them along the 4' sides with a hinge so they can fold to save space. On the bottom there will be four small L shaped frames lined with felt or another soft material that will rest snug against each corner of the table; preventing it from moving if it gets bumped.

Do I have something in my teeth?

I'm lucky. I use the loft and they're up permanently. If I was using the dining room however I'd use two as dining tables permanently, and stack the rest. Legs hand screw in once the plates are attached once.

Does anyone have any feedback on this table?

https://www.urbanmatz.com/p/237/6-x4-folding-table

Has the right size and fold a bit more than the gamemats one, which is handy in my case for storage.

This is it's not something I can keep constantly up on the living room. It will take the place between my desktop computer table and my piano just for gaming.

cheers,

I designed a transformable gaming table so i can move the whole table including Terrain, Scenery and Miniatures to a shelf-like mode

the idea is to keep the (GW) Modules horizontally during transformation.
the whole setup is on casters and fits through doors in shelf-mode.
It can be moved out of the way or to another room easily (even mid-game, if neccessary)

I actually built and tested it: ''

basically it works as intended, but i would prefer a more sophisticated solution than the red clamp for locking it in position.
Unfortunately i had to move and now don't have any room for gaming at all, so its in storage now with all my other toys.
I have several other ideas to improve the design - maybe i can spawn some new? ''

That's exactly what I use, it's great for the price.

Did the same from Target.

They're sturdy tables that won't collapse if someone accidentally leans on them. You will need a gaming mat to go on top though, since there is a gap between them.

What i've done is i have 2 tables, and 2 pieces of foldable cardboard that can sit on top of them, to create a really flat, even surface, and then i put the gaming mat on top of that.

All of this is incredibly easy to store since the tables, the mat, and the cardboard all fold.

Finally will get 2.

Which of the following would you say is better?

I took a 6 by 4 piece of plywood and put it on a smaller table.

They're essentially the same, so go for the cheaper one. LOTS of these around, tho, so you might get them down to £30: supermarkets sell them too.
